Chapter 557: Chapter 45: 3 Seconds

Two hands grabbed Su Xiao’s ankle and forcefully pulled downward.

Dragon Slash spun in Su Xiao’s hand, switching from a forward to a reverse grip, stabbing into the soil beneath.

Bang.

White smoke rose as Su Xiao pierced through a shadow clone hidden in the soil.

At this moment, three Kakashi had already rushed to Su Xiao’s front.

”Chidori.”

The hand wrapped in lightning pierced towards Su Xiao’s chest, he could even feel the sharp pain as the lightning grazed his cheek.

”Ring Break.”

Twang!

A circular blade aura spread out, bang, bang, bang, the surrounding three Kakashi all turned into white smoke, they were all shadow clones.

The Ring Break spread out, cutting down the surrounding thick trees, the cut surfaces smooth as mirrors.

Boom, boom.

Trees fell, startling the birds in the forest.

Buzz buzz buzz~

A sharp shriek came from overhead, Su Xiao’s pupils contracted sharply.

Kakashi’s real body was above, and he had already used his ultimate technique Raikiri, an S-Level Jutsu that’s an improved version of the Level A Ninjutsu Chidori.

Blue-white electric arcs surged in Kakashi’s hand, the dazzling palm speared towards Su Xiao’s head.

Crack!

Kakashi’s palm stopped just inches above Su Xiao’s head, a light blue energy shield blocked above Su Xiao.

This energy shield was octagonal, about a meter in diameter, consuming 150 mana points from Su Xiao.

Buzz buzz buzz~

Raikiri attempted to penetrate the energy shield, all its destructive power focused on one point, the light blue patterns on the energy shield deepened, dispersing the destructive force across the shield’s surface.

Crack.

Fine cracks appeared on the energy shield, at this rate, Kakashi could break the shield in ten seconds.

Su Xiao looked up at Kakashi, a smile appeared on his face, the energy shield was surprisingly effective.

Just as Kakashi exerted force with his fingers, about to retreat by pressing against the energy shield, his hand met empty air, as Su Xiao had already canceled the energy shield.

Kakashi lost his balance in mid-air, a long knife stabbed towards Kakashi’s neck.

Swish.

Blood splattered, Su Xiao’s blade pierced Kakashi’s shoulder, missing the throat.

Failing to land the blow, Su Xiao switched from a single-handed to a double-handed grip, Dragon Slash cut inside Kakashi’s body, slicing towards the heart at a decent speed, intending to use ’Shadow Sting’ to pierce Kakashi, but Shadow Sting required preparation time.

Blue steel shadow energy surged into Kakashi, who almost fainted from the unbearable pain.

In a cry, Kakashi spat out a large mouthful of blood, facing doom, but if Kakashi were this easy to kill, he wouldn’t be known as the Copy Ninja.

”Thunder Shield Thunder Transfer.”

A lightning chain appeared in Kakashi’s hand, wrapping towards Su Xiao.

Sensing danger, Su Xiao immediately stopped cutting Kakashi’s body, kicking Kakashi in the abdomen.

Bang.

Kakashi was kicked flying in mid-air, simultaneously Su Xiao jumped off the ground, the lightning chain narrowly missing him.

Swish.

Just from a light brushing, a deep wound down to the bone appeared on Su Xiao’s calf. If the lightning chain had entangled him, he’d have been doomed.

Kakashi rolled on the ground for a distance before struggling to stand up.

”Cough cough.”

After coughing a mouthful of blood, Kakashi felt dizzy.

”Is this... poison?”

Hearing Kakashi’s words, Su Xiao was puzzled, looking at the blade of Dragon Slash, there was indeed a purple tinge.

This was Sasori’s poison, not deliberately laced by Su Xiao, perhaps accidentally brushed on during a prior alliance action with Sasori. Kakashi’s luck was indeed bad.

Su Xiao flicked off the blood on the knife, removing the poison, as lacing poison on blades wasn’t his combat style, given his current sword technique, he wouldn’t lace poison on a blade.

Even though Kakashi was poisoned by Sasori, it was only a trace amount, apart from a bit of dizziness, he exhibited no other symptoms, and the dizziness gradually diminished.

Kakashi stood panting, realizing he’d made a mistake, overly eager to pursue Naruto, he instead engaged the enemy recklessly, aiming for a swift kill.

Quick thinking filled Kakashi’s mind: ’Since the battle began, he only used steel wire and blade, and the shield before showed no signs of sealing, likely a bloodline limit, plus from the intel provided by Lord Jiraiya, the enemy has super long-range attack ability, but rarely uses mid-range attacks.’

Kakashi began analyzing Su Xiao’s intel, a ninja’s strongest asset wasn’t the ninja techniques but battle intelligence, in mere seconds, Kakashi deduced Su Xiao’s strengths and weaknesses, also devising several strategies against Su Xiao.

’Since the enemy excels at close combat, that move will work.’

Kakashi formed seals with both hands, with a bang, two more shadow clones appeared, while Kakashi’s real body stayed in place, consuming a large chunk of Chakra.

”Hmm?”

Su Xiao’s eyes widened slightly, sensing Kakashi’s sudden large Chakra consumption, and his Sharingan had changed.

Looking closely, Kakashi’s Sharingan was no longer a three-magatama, but like a windmill pattern, shaped in Tun.

”Mangekyo Sharingan.”

Su Xiao secretly worried, Kakashi’s Mangekyo was tricky, not being cautious could lead to instantaneous defeat.

The battle continued.

Kakashi’s two shadow clones rushed at Su Xiao, almost simultaneously using Chidori upon reaching him.

Two lightning-imbued palms stabbed towards Su Xiao, Su Xiao’s arm muscles slightly bulged, executing a horizontal slash, causing both clones to explode into white smoke.

White smoke enveloped.

”Incoming.”

Su Xiao guessed Kakashi would use the white smoke left by the shadow clones as cover to use pupil skills on him.

Just as Su Xiao prepared to move, a shriek of lightning sounded.

Buzz~

Lightning burst from the white smoke, Su Xiao’s pupils contracted, he could confirm there was no one inside the smoke, Kakashi’s Chakra was stable in the distance, showing no signs of casting.

Zip, lightning latched onto Su Xiao, bringing a numbing sensation.

These two shadow clones had issues! Su Xiao immediately realized.

The fact was such, these shadow clones were Kakashi’s unique creation, Thunder Jutsu Shadow Clone, using Thunder Jutsu Chakra to form shadow clones with added lightning nature transformation. When struck, they could transform into lightning to attack the enemy, causing a paralysis effect.

Su Xiao and Kakashi’s quick thinking and battle maneuvering dazzled, embodying the thrill of battle, using intelligence and force to dispatch the enemy.

”Kamui!”

From the direction of Kakashi, came a roar, his Mangekyo Sharingan widened.

The space in front of Su Xiao twisted into a spiral, with a central black point targeted right at his heart.

Already paralyzed by lightning, Su Xiao was now pulled and unable to move due to the twisted space.

This was Kakashi’s first-time use of Kamui in practical combat, thus the activation was slow, requiring node formation, connecting to an unknown space, then reaching spatial cutting force, taking a full three seconds.

First second, the numbness in Su Xiao’s body slightly diminished.

Second second, stabbing pain emanated from his chest.

Third second, space began twisting into a spiral, with his chest clothing showing signs of damage.
