Chapter 575: Chapter 63: The Death of the Snake

The Susanoo wielding the Ten Fist Sword slashed swiftly. In less than ten seconds, seven of the eight heads of the Eight Branches Technique had been severed. Only one head remained.

The remaining White Phosphorus Snake’s head raised high, its mouth wide open. A figure crawled out from the snake’s mouth, it was the naked Orochimaru.

Orochimaru lay in the snake’s mouth, covered in saliva. Upon appearing, he let out a sinister laugh and similarly opened his mouth wide, spitting out a sword.

”This guy always likes to spit things out of his mouth, it’s really disgusting.”

Bai Jue frowned, seemingly quite disgusted by Orochimaru.

”The thing that should appear has finally shown up.”

Itachi, encased in Susanoo, smiled slightly, not wasting any words with Orochimaru, and directly pierced Orochimaru’s body with the Ten Fist Sword.

Squish.

Blood splattered as Orochimaru was pierced through the chest by the Ten Fist Sword, yet he didn’t care.

”You think an attack of this level can... what!”

Orochimaru’s smile froze on his face. As the Ten Fist Sword retracted into the hilt, his soul was gradually drawn into the Ten Fist Sword.

Twenty seconds after Orochimaru appeared, he was sealed by the Ten Fist Sword.

If someone paid attention to the scene of the sealing, they would find that Orochimaru was not actually sealed. The White Phosphorus Snake split off a small white snake before being sealed, and that small snake hid among the rubble, allowing Orochimaru to escape death.

At this moment, Orochimaru was extremely weak, and even a Jonin could easily kill him.

After ’sealing’ Orochimaru, Itachi began to cough up blood. Although Sasuke had little Chakra left, his body was different; the Orochimaru inside him was expelled, the Curse Mark was removed, and it could be said that now Sasuke had nothing to do with Orochimaru. Orochimaru’s three years of training Sasuke had all gone to benefit Sasuke.

After Itachi spat out several mouthfuls of blood, Susanoo became hard to maintain, reduced to just a skeleton.

With Susanoo, Itachi slowly approached Er Zhuzi, who didn’t flinch and rushed forward with his sword.

But Er Zhuzi was not Su Xiao; he couldn’t fight Itachi with just a sword. He leaped and stabbed towards Susanoo, and as expected, he couldn’t even break through Susanoo’s defense and was sent flying.

The Grass Pheasant Sword was stuck in the ground, and Sasuke rolled several times along the ground, finally crashing into some ruined walls.

When Sasuke stood up, Itachi had already reached him, extending three blood-stained fingers, as if making a move to gouge his eyes out.

At that moment, Er Zhuzi’s legs trembled uncontrollably, his eyes widened, and he was afraid.

Itachi squinted, a faint smile at the corner of his mouth, his life aura growing weaker, nearly to the point of death.

Itachi’s mouth opened and closed as if he said something, but Sasuke didn’t hear clearly.

Itachi’s two fingers touched Sasuke’s forehead, and his Mangekyo Sharingan spun, consuming a large amount of Chakra.

Suddenly, Susanoo dissipated, and Itachi’s body tilted forward, his forehead colliding heavily against the ruins Sasuke was leaning on, with a muffled thud, and Itachi’s body slowly slid to the ground.

Sasuke stood there in a daze, as if he understood what Itachi said before dying, and at the same time, he didn’t seem to understand clearly.

”Forgive me, Sasuke, this is the last time.”

Those were Itachi’s last words, which Sasuke could hardly believe that Itachi would say, making him doubt he heard correctly.

”The brothers’ battle is over. Now it’s our turn.”

Su Xiao jumped down from the tree and walked towards the battlefield.

At this moment, Sasuke also reached his limit. He vaguely saw someone approaching him, but before he could see the person’s appearance clearly, darkness enveloped his vision, and he collapsed to the ground. He vaguely heard a conversation between two people.

”I’ll handle Itachi’s body, and I’ll take Sasuke with me.”

”Fine, I’ll take the snake.”

”Oh? Seems like Orochimaru will fall into your hands.”

”Just trying to get some information out of him. Killing him is very difficult; even if we kill this snake, Orochimaru is not someone who will die so easily.”

”Makes sense...”

Before completely losing consciousness, Sasuke vaguely felt someone pick him up.

Obito slung Sasuke over his shoulder and placed one hand on Itachi’s back.

”If everything goes smoothly, Sasuke will be our new member. See you at the designated location. I’ll reveal the truth to this kid. Don’t you want to see his reaction?”

”Not interested.”

The space near Obito twisted, and he disappeared.

Su Xiao held a glass tube about ten centimeters long, containing a white snake inside.

”Orochimaru, we need to talk.”

Su Xiao looked at the white snake inside the test tube, which housed Orochimaru’s soul.

The white snake pondered for a moment, and then its head grew slightly larger, and it spoke human language.

”Fine, but don’t think you can threaten me.”

It was Orochimaru’s voice.

The battle between Itachi and Sasuke had ended, with Sasuke inevitably winning due to Itachi holding back.

The capture of Orochimaru by Su Xiao was an unexpected gain. Even if the white snake were killed, Orochimaru wouldn’t die, but if it was killed, it would take Orochimaru some time to resurrect.

Leaving the battlefield with Bubu Wang, Su Xiao found a laboratory under Orochimaru’s guidance.

Inside the laboratory, Su Xiao sat in a wooden chair, placed the test tube on the experiment table, and Bubu Wang curiously inspected the ’rare creature’ inside the tube.

”What do you want?”

Orochimaru’s voice was low, and the eyes of the snake were full of desolation. Seeing how things had developed, even Orochimaru could see clearly now that this was a trap laid by Itachi; after all, he wasn’t foolish.

Whether it was being instantly killed by the Sharingan or abducting Sasuke for training later, this was all part of Itachi’s plan.

Itachi initially entrusted Sasuke to the Third Hokage, but after the Third was killed by Orochimaru, Itachi immediately appeared in Konoha after his death. That was a warning to Danzo, that touching his brother would not yield good results.

This was Itachi’s delaying tactic. He understood Danzo’s greed for the power of the Uchiha Clan; he could stop Danzo temporarily, but not forever.

Moreover, Sasuke did not have a good teacher in Konoha. The original agreement between Itachi and the Third Hokage was that once Sasuke reached a certain age and the Third had retired, the Third would take Sasuke as a student. The heart and teaching ability of the Third were trustworthy, with the three ninjas being the best example. However, with the Third’s death, Kakashi was the only one left to teach Sasuke, and Itachi knew what level Kakashi could reach; perhaps he could train Sasuke to become a Jonin, but reaching the Shadow Level was out of the question.

Therefore, Itachi resorted to an emergency plan he had prepared in advance: Orochimaru.

As one of the Three Ninja, Orochimaru was a top-level teacher, and even Itachi admitted his teaching ability was superior.

How could he ensure that Orochimaru would wholeheartedly teach Sasuke and not make any strange modifications? The identity of a new vessel was more than sufficient.

If Orochimaru cultivated Sasuke as a new vessel, the meaning would be different, and he wouldn’t be stingy with future benefits to his own body. Thus Sasuke received endless precious resources.

Thinking of this, Orochimaru spat out his snake tongue, fury burning in his eyes.

”Curse Itachi! To think he used me!”

After a long silence, Orochimaru calmed down. His will was not easily shaken.

In the Naruto World, some believed in ninjutsu, some believed in taijutsu, some believed in the Immortal Technique, but Orochimaru was different; he believed in science!

”Itachi is dead. He accomplished all his goals and then died. If you want revenge, there won’t be a chance. Losing is losing.”

Su Xiao was clear about Itachi’s intelligence, so he didn’t participate in Itachi’s plan and only had minimal contact, appearing only at the final battle to avoid being used.

”Right, losing is losing, with no excuses. So, Bai Ye, what do you actually want from me?”

Finally addressing the main point, Su Xiao stared at Orochimaru.

”I want information on Hashirama Cells, how to remove the Wood Jutsu components from them.”

”Hashirama Cells? Heh, so that’s what you’re targeting. It’s not like telling you matters, removing the Wood Jutsu component is simple...”

Su Xiao waved his hand.

”Not the Hashirama Cells after Hashirama’s death, but the original Hashirama Cells as mentioned in your data.”

”What, you got your hands on that? That’s just a concept.”

”Yes, I got it.”

The laboratory fell silent.

”Removing the Wood Jutsu component from the original Hashirama Cells is very difficult, but not impossible. You have to agree to one condition of mine.”

”What condition? Helping you resurrect?”

”No, on the contrary, officially declare that I am dead. The Akatsuki Organization’s plan should be starting soon, how many Tailed Beasts have you captured?”

Su Xiao hesitated a moment, then wrote the number 7 on the experiment table.

”That many? Then I should be ’dead’ even more. Only by being officially dead will no one pay attention to me. If I want to be the last winner, this is the best way. Itachi, I won’t lose this time.”

After providing an address, the white snake exploded, filling the test tube with flesh.

Dou had inherited much from Orochimaru and become his best vessel. Training Dou was Orochimaru’s wisest choice.
