Chapter 568: Chapter 5-6: Lava

”What’s the exact location?”

The Four-Tails can create and control lava, which means its Molten Shield, so the intense and vast Chakra is most likely the Four-Tails.

”This direction.”

Shinfuru pointed to the left, where the center of Great River Valley was located.

”The center of Great River Valley?”

Itachi showed a contemplative expression but didn’t move.

”Is there something wrong?”

Kisame, having partnered with Itachi for a long time, immediately understood Itachi’s meaning. He raised his hand and placed Samehada next to Shinfuru’s neck.

”There’s a volcano underground in Great River Valley, with a Lava Lake at the center. The ’River’ in Great River Valley represents the Lava Lake.”

Su Xiao also understood Itachi’s meaning; the Four-Tails is skilled in the Melting Shield, which allows it to create and control lava. In such terrain, battling the Four-Tail Jinchuriki would be a natural advantage for them.

”Does that Chakra show signs of movement?”

Su Xiao turned his head to look at Shinfuru. After sensing for a moment, Shinfuru shook her head.

”No sign of movement, that Chakra is very close to the Lava Lake.”

Upon hearing Shinfuru’s words, Su Xiao showed a contemplative expression.

Engaging with the Four-Tail Jinchuriki at the Lava Lake in Great River Valley would be a foolish choice.

”The Four-Tail Jinchuriki left the village due to a personality clash with the Third Tsuchikage. What exactly happened? It’s not a trivial matter for a Jinchuriki to leave the village.”

Su Xiao was hoping to find an opportunity through the personality weaknesses of the Four-Tail Jinchuriki, Old Purple.

”It’s said that it was due to the choice of the next Four-Tail Jinchuriki. The Third Tsuchikage wanted to cultivate a young boy as a Jinchuriki, but Old Purple refused. The fate of Jinchuriki is always tragic.”

”Oh? So, the Four-Tail Jinchuriki has some compassion?”

”That’s roughly the case.”

A smile appeared on Su Xiao’s face. He looked at Shinfuru, Kisame also thought of something, and looked at Shinfuru as well.

”Shinfuru, how’s your voice?”

Su Xiao put his arm around Shinfuru’s shoulder, and Shinfuru shivered.

”It’s... it’s okay, I guess.”

Shinfuru felt something was amiss.

”Hmm, then scream at the top of your lungs.”

”Huh?”

Shinfuru looked bewildered. Su Xiao grabbed Shinfuru’s collar and pulled hard.

With a ripping sound, Shinfuru’s fair arm was exposed, covered in teeth marks, a result of her unique ability.

Drawing his Dragon Slash, Su Xiao made a cut on Shinfuru’s arm, leaving Shinfuru dumbfounded.

”You can scream now, lie on the ground and scream.”

”Oh? Oh.”

Shinfuru understood Su Xiao’s intention.

The three of them quickly hid in the distance, and Shinfuru took a deep breath.

”Help...”

Shinfuru’s cry was weak, making Kisame’s eyebrow twitch.

”Help～”

Still weak, as if she hadn’t eaten.

A black pistol appeared in Su Xiao’s hand, and he fired a shot at Shinfuru’s calf from a distance.

Bang, a bloody bullet hole appeared, and Shinfuru showed a painful expression, with Su Xiao pointing the gun at her head.

”Help!!”

A high-pitched female scream echoed, resonating in the valley, lingering for a long time.

Shinfuru yelled while crawling forward in a lifelike performance.

Was it acting? No, Shinfuru knew clearly that if she didn’t put in more effort, a hole would be opened on her head.

After shouting for five minutes, Shinfuru was completely exhausted, lying limply on the ground, ready for whatever fate awaited her.

Itachi’s brows furrowed, seemingly wanting to stop the scene, but after glancing at Su Xiao in the distance, he could only sigh.

Itachi was never a villain. Although he was a member of Akatsuki, he tried to avoid killing innocents during missions.

The current situation was beyond Itachi’s control; passing Su Xiao would not be possible.

Tap, tap, tap...

The sound of footsteps on stones was heard, and a middle-aged man with a fiery red beard, dressed like a wandering monk, walked out of the valley—it was the Four-Tail Jinchuriki, Old Purple.

Old Purple was about 50 years old, wearing tattered clothes, with fiery red hair tied into short braids, and an Iwa Shinobi Headband without scratches. This indicated Old Purple was not a rogue ninja; he simply left the village due to ideological differences with the Third Tsuchikage, and this departure did not mean betrayal.

”Young lady.”

Old Purple stood in front of Shinfuru, who looked at Old Purple with tearful eyes.

”You must be their companion. Now that I’m here, you won’t have to suffer anymore.”

Old Purple’s words left Shinfuru momentarily stunned, before she lowered her head.

”I... I’m not their companion. Run, even if you’re a Jinchuriki, you can’t defeat those three monsters.”

After hearing Shinfuru’s words, Old Purple’s face wore a gentle smile.

”You’re a perception type ninja.”

Shinfuru nodded.

”Before I became a Jinchuriki, I was a perception type ninja too. From a person’s Chakra nature, you can sense the general good or evil in them. You’re a kind young lady, stand up, and stand behind me.”

Old Purple patted Shinfuru’s shoulder. Shinfuru’s expression became more distraught as she would have preferred if the Four-Tail Jinchuriki were a villain rather than such a kindhearted middle-aged man.

Shinfuru clearly sensed that Old Purple’s Chakra was very gentle; although he was a Jinchuriki, his Chakra gave people a warm feeling.

”Get up, those three are coming.”

Shinfuru shook her head.

”Sorry, my apologies.”

”No, you’re just trying to survive. I sensed what happened here earlier.”

Old Purple stood up and looked around.

”Four-Tails, it’s time for us to move around. Continuous training doesn’t enhance our synergy.”

”Tch, as you wish.”

The Four-Tails communicated with Old Purple through consciousness. Despite his stubbornness, Old Purple was considered a kind-hearted ninja. This is why he wasn’t a competent ninja and he understood this very well, so he abandoned the identity of a ninja to become a wandering monk.

”Shinfuru, managing to get along quickly with the enemy, no surprise there from Orochimaru’s subordinate.”

Su Xiao appeared from a hill behind Old Purple, cutting off Old Purple’s escape route.

”Kisame, make sure to suppress him with Water Jutsu.”

Itachi and Kisame approached from either side, forming a triangular formation with Su Xiao.

”You’re here for me, right? And from the same organization.”

Old Purple glanced at Su Xiao behind him, then turned to look at Kisame and Itachi in front of him.

Itachi’s Sharingan widened slightly; Old Purple was momentarily frozen in place. Kisame charged forward with Samehada; Itachi had already used an illusion technique.

Su Xiao pushed off the ground, charging at Old Purple in a coordinated formation with Kisame.

”Wait a moment.”

Itachi shouted, but it was already too late.

”Lava Jutsu: Stone Blast Flow.”

Old Purple’s hands flew into action, quickly forming seals, his abdomen bulging, spewing out a mass of lava mixed with red-hot stones from his mouth.

The lava surged toward Kisame, who froze momentarily. Itachi’s illusion was broken instantly, something that had never happened before.

Lava came rushing in, Kisame halted, casually stabbed Samehada into the ground, and formed seals with his hands.

”Water Jutsu: Great Shark Bullet Technique.”

A stream burst from beneath Kisame’s feet, forming a giant water shark heading for the lava.

The collision of lava and the water shark resulted in a massive explosion, with water and lava scattering, hissing as the two elements met, steam rising, and the surroundings became shrouded in a misty fog.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Su Xiao had already charged behind Old Purple, striking with his long knife at Old Purple’s back neck.

The long knife cut through the air with a whimpering sound, Blue Steel Shadow energy surging over the blade.
