Chapter 582: Chapter 70: Is Nagato in Trouble?

In the quiet underground hideout, Su Xiao sat on a wooden box in the corner, half of his body hidden in the darkness.

He was considering whether to join Tobi’s camp, weighing the gains and losses of joining.

Joining Tobi’s camp was an opportunity, a chance to participate in the capture of the Eight-tails, but if he did so, though Nagato might not say anything, he would inevitably harbor grievances, which would affect the execution of the final mainline mission.

If it were a choice between capturing the Eight-tails and completing the mainline mission, Su Xiao would undoubtedly choose the latter.

But capturing the Eight-tails is an excellent opportunity to raise the level of Blue Steel Shadow, and Su Xiao does not intend to use Soul Crystals to enhance the Blue Steel Shadow Ability, as it would be a waste of resources.

The value of Soul Crystals is beyond doubt; raising Sword Technique Master to Level 30 requires 90 Soul Crystals, which is a substantial amount.

You have to lose something to gain something; on one side is the opportunity to capture the Eight-tails, on the other is the chance to participate in the final mainline mission.

However, based on current developments, Tobi will send Sasuke to capture the Eight-tails, ultimately Sasuke will fail in the capture.

Capture failure? Su Xiao suddenly thought of something, maybe there is a chance to capture the Eight-tails even without joining Tobi’s camp.

Perhaps, he doesn’t need to help the Akatsuki Organization capture the Eight-tails at all, but instead, go find a battle with the Eight-tails on his own.

Previously, Su Xiao fell into a thinking trap; why did he have to capture the Eight-tails under the dispatch of the Akatsuki Organization? Now that he had the Energy Shield, Su Xiao could attempt to handle the Eight-tails alone.

As for how to explain, just passing by～

Just as Su Xiao was pondering, Sasuke walked into the secret hideout, followed by Suigetsu, Shinfuru, and others.

When Shinfuru saw Su Xiao, her first reaction was to step back two steps and hug her shoulders tightly.

After Sasuke and the others left, Tobi walked over slowly.

”How are you considering?”

”I’ve already considered it. Though you claim to be Uchiha Madara, this needs time to verify; whether to join you remains to be seen.”

Su Xiao neither rejected nor agreed, merely saying he would observe.

”Oh?”

This answer clearly dissatisfied Tobi.

”What evidence do you want?”

”It’s not about evidence; I know nothing of your intentions.”

Su Xiao’s subtext was that even if you are truly Uchiha Madara, I need to observe; who knows if you are trustworthy?

”Is that so? What a pity, originally I wanted to entrust the capture of the Eight-tails to you, it appears now Sasuke will have to go. Consider carefully, Pain’s situation isn’t good, he was seriously injured fighting a mysterious force before.”

Hearing Tobi’s words, Su Xiao’s heart tightened.

”Seriously injured?”

”...”

Tobi remained silent, no longer divulging information.

After Tobi left, Su Xiao’s expression grew serious; if it was those six Pains being injured, that was no matter, as they were merely corpses, but if Nagato was severely injured, it wouldn’t be good, who would assist him in attacking Konoha?

Thinking of this, Su Xiao stood up with a huff and walked into the hideout.

Inside a meeting room in the hideout, Sasuke’s newly formed Eagle Squad was discussing something when Su Xiao pushed the door open and entered.

”Sasuke, I need to discuss something with your subordinates.”

Su Xiao looked at Shinfuru, whose body stiffened, though fearful, she dared not resist.

”Wait a minute.”

Er Zhuzi stared at Su Xiao, then glanced at Shinfuru, whose body was trembling.

”Rest assured, I won’t harm her, and Shinfuru herself will agree, right, Shinfuru.”

”Yes... or no?”

Sasuke frowned; he felt Shinfuru was very afraid of this man.

”No... no problem, Sasuke.”

Shinfuru spoke, looking somewhat calmer. If Su Xiao intended to harm her or coveted her beauty, he would have acted long ago, not waited until now.

Sasuke fell silent, giving Suigetsu a look from the side.

”What are you going to do? I’ll come along for some fun too.”

Suigetsu grinned, showing his mouthful of sharp shark-like teeth.

Seeing those teeth, Su Xiao thought of someone.

”Happen to have something to tell you, come along.”

Su Xiao led Shinfuru to the next room, with the puzzled Suigetsu following closely behind.

In the room, Su Xiao and Shinfuru sat opposite each other, while Suigetsu stood at the side.

”Just going to draw a small amount of your blood, no need to be nervous.”

Su Xiao rolled up Shinfuru’s sleeve; after a moment’s hesitation, she ultimately didn’t resist.

Taking out a syringe and test tube, Su Xiao drew approximately 100cc of Shinfuru’s blood, sensing the blood in the test tube, the blood was full of vitality.

”You mentioned there’s something you wanted to say to me? What is it?”

Suigetsu didn’t stop Su Xiao from drawing Shinfuru’s blood; as Shinfuru herself had no resistance, he certainly wouldn’t intervene.

”Do you remember the name Hōzuki Susuki?”

As soon as Su Xiao’s words fell, Suigetsu stood up with a whoosh, the chair beneath him flying far away with a bang as it hit the ground.

”Where, is, he!”

Suigetsu ground his sharp fangs together, as if wanting to tear Hōzuki Susuki apart alive.

”He’s dead.”

”Huh?”

Suigetsu thought he heard wrong.

”He’s dead; before he died, he left a message for me to tell you, he’s already dead, don’t think about seeking revenge on him.”

”What a joke!”

After roaring, Suigetsu began to breathe heavily.

”Dead? Impossible, that bastard would never die so easily, he was...”

Su Xiao waved his hand.

”He and I were imprisoned together in the Hidden Mist Village’s jail; he couldn’t even perform Water Transformation. I saw with my own eyes a few Jonin taking him away, and a few minutes later, his aura diminished rapidly and then vanished without a doubt, he was executed.”

Su Xiao patted Shinfuru’s shoulder; she was somewhat sleepy.

”This vial of blood helped me a lot. I can do something for you.”

This vial of blood wasn’t ordinary; it was rich in Life Energy. Su Xiao had purposefully instructed Shinfuru earlier to release Life Energy while her blood was being drawn.

Shinfuru’s body was brimming with Life Energy, which is why biting her could heal wounds. Moreover, losing Life Energy normally reduces lifespan, but Shinfuru could recover her Life Energy naturally after losing it; this was the strength of the Uzumaki Clan.

”Do something for me?”

Shinfuru looked somewhat confused.

”Yes, something within my power.”

Su Xiao stored the vial of blood; he had something he must do. Although the risk was not small, having this vial of blood was a safeguard.

”Though you say that, I can’t think of anything for the moment.”

”Is that so.”

Su Xiao stood up and walked out; they had a fair trade, and since there were no requests from Shinfuru, he’d leave it at that.

After Su Xiao left the underground hideout, he had hardly gone a little distance when Tobi appeared at the exit of the underground hideout, watching Su Xiao’s direction from afar.

”So, your aim isn’t simply to capture a tailed beast, it’s related to Nagato.”

Tobi took out a finely crafted cylindrical glass bottle from his bosom, which contained a Sharingan.

Tobi hesitated about whether to transplant this eye, as doing so would restore his Pupil Skill, allowing him to use techniques like Susanoo.

Moreover, Tobi’s left and right eyes combined had great power: one for defense, one for attack.
