Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 585: Chapter 73: Surgery

Su Xiao stood in front of the operating table, wearing disposable rubber gloves, while Konan stood behind him. On the operating table lay the unconscious Nagato.

What an incredible scene this was. Before entering Reincarnation Paradise, Su Xiao would never have imagined experiencing such an event.

The surgery was at its initial stage, and from the tension on Konan’s cheeks, it was clear how nervous she was.

Nagato and Konan were unaware of one thing: Su Xiao didn’t know how to perform surgery at all. He had only studied human anatomy and had a deep understanding of the human body.

If judged by medical experience, this surgery would certainly fail because the ”chief doctor” was unreliable, being someone who was better at killing than saving lives...

But it didn’t matter, with the effect of that strong medicine, as long as Su Xiao didn’t touch Nagato’s brain, rough surgery would be fine.

Su Xiao’s plan was simple: as long as he could ensure Nagato’s survival, the rest would be easy. It would just be a matter of disassembling Nagato’s body, removing the harmful components, correcting his body, and then letting it recover on its own.

As long as the negative effects of that strong medicine weren’t triggered, given the current situation, Nagato wouldn’t die.

Even if Su Xiao didn’t perform the surgery, Nagato was doomed, so the risk was necessary.

Squelch, squelch...

Su Xiao pulled out the metal rods from Nagato’s back one by one and handed them to Konan, who placed them to the side.

The number of metal rods was more than expected, totaling 87. It was hard to imagine how Nagato had survived with these 87 metal rods weighing at least 200 pounds!

Clearing the metal rods from Nagato’s back, Su Xiao used a scalpel to cut open the muscles of Nagato’s back, but the wound healed rapidly, making the surgery difficult.

Su Xiao first examined the damage caused by the metal rods to Nagato. The organs didn’t need attention; as long as the rods were removed and with the effect of the strong medicine, Nagato’s organs would quickly self-heal, with the main concern being Nagato’s spinal bones.

Nagato’s spine was severely curved and deformed, with many nerves compressed. Moreover, under the effect of the strong medicine, Nagato’s already deformed vertebral bones were healing rapidly.

This wasn’t a good thing; without correcting the spine, even if Nagato didn’t die, he would be paralyzed, especially in the upper body.

Su Xiao reached into the wound on Nagato’s back, holding Nagato’s spine with his bare hands!

Crack! Crack!

Su Xiao adjusted the vertebrae, and each time a cracking sound was heard, Konan’s brow twitched slightly.

Five minutes later, Su Xiao aligned Nagato’s spine to the most appropriate physiological shape. The healing effect of the strong medicine allowed Nagato’s spine to recover quickly, and the compressed nerves gradually restored, and some previously shriveled blood vessels revitalized, returning Nagato’s spine to a healthy state.

Though it seemed absurd, with the help of Alchemy + Uzumaki Bloodline + Hashirama Cells, this was not a mere fantasy.

Su Xiao flexed his fingers, layer by layer suturing the wound on Nagato’s back.

For such a deep incision, it wouldn’t suffice to just suture the surface; the internal layers needed suturing as well.

After suturing each layer, Su Xiao waited for a moment, allowing the wound to heal before removing the stitches. This process repeated five times.

Three hours into the surgery, all the metal rods from Nagato’s back were removed; these things that had plagued Nagato for over ten years were finally out of his body.

Now, looking at Nagato, his formerly gray hair had turned dark red, indicating his vitality was rapidly recovering.

”That’s great.”

Usually stoic, Konan clenched her fists with a smile on her face.

Nagato was Konan’s dearest friend; they were the same age, with Nagato caring for Konan in the past and now Konan taking care of Nagato. Although there was no romantic or blood relation between them, their bond over the years surpassed familial ties, so Konan’s emotional response was normal.

”Don’t celebrate too soon; this is just the beginning. The issue inside his chest cavity is the real challenge.”

Su Xiao removed the stitches from Nagato’s back, revealing only a shallow scar.

Adjusting Nagato to lie flat on the operating table, Su Xiao started cleaning the decayed muscle tissue in Nagato’s chest.

Before opening the chest, these rotten tissues had to be cleared to prevent bacterial infection, a basic principle Su Xiao understood.

Konan acted as an assistant; while Su Xiao wasn’t skilled in surgery, the Sword Technique Master Lv.21 was not just for show. His every cut was precise, and in less than ten minutes, he had completely excised the necrotic flesh from Nagato’s chest, revealing fresh muscle tissue. A cavity appeared in Nagato’s chest, bloodless because the adjacent blood vessels seemed dead.

”Can this wound heal?”

The cavity in Nagato’s chest made Konan frown deeply.

”Don’t speak.”

Su Xiao was concentrating intensely, perceiving Nagato’s internal condition. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

”Sorry...”

Konan stopped mid-sentence; with Nagato’s life at stake, she wouldn’t dare be careless.

Of course, the cavity in Nagato’s chest would heal; currently, it was unnecessary to consider this cavity. The creature inside Nagato’s chest cavity was the trouble, possibly possessing basic intelligence, as evidenced by not killing Nagato. That creature knew it was parasitic and couldn’t kill its host easily.

Moreover, Su Xiao felt distinctly that the thing inside Nagato wanted to struggle, but since it survived by absorbing Nagato’s blood, when Nagato was anesthetized, so was the creature.

To anesthetize Nagato, Su Xiao used a dose sufficient for several water buffaloes; any higher dose might lead to Nagato’s physiological shutdown, otherwise, he would have injected more.

The scalpel sliced open Nagato’s chest, and blood surged out, revealing a beetle with a black shell.

Fully opening the chest revealed the beetle’s appearance; the beetle’s body was flat, about the size of a soccer ball. Although large, the beetle was only three centimeters thick, curled tightly.

Currently, the beetle was tightly wrapped around Nagato’s heart, like a hard shell entirely covering it.

What kind of ability was this, so vicious? If Nagato’s life force weren’t strong enough, he’d be dead within minutes.

Su Xiao didn’t like beetle-like insects, especially those laying eggs, utterly disgusting, with insect eggs adhered to various Nagato’s organs.

Seeing the scene inside Nagato’s chest cavity, Konan’s pupils constricted, and despite her strong resilience, her stomach churned violently.

Su Xiao remained composed; though feeling nauseous, Nagato’s life was in his hands.

Su Xiao spent two hours removing all the insect eggs, simultaneously injecting mana into Nagato to ensure there were no stragglers.

Once the eggs were removed, Nagato’s organs gradually revitalized under the influence of the strong medicine, notably his lungs functioning smoothly.

Su Xiao eyed the beetle from all angles, momentarily at a loss for an approach, as it enveloped Nagato’s heart too tightly, leaving not even a gap.

Grasping the beetle, Su Xiao attempted to pry it open by force.

Beep beep beep~

The nearby equipment issued a warning alarm as Nagato’s heartbeat slowed, forcing Su Xiao to release his grip immediately.

Forcing the beetle open wouldn’t solve the issue; it had formed a symbiotic relationship with Nagato’s heart, necessitating alternative solutions.
