Chapter 558: Chapter 46: The Terrifying Kick

In this life-and-death moment, Su Xiao chose not to use the Secondary Invincible Shield. Deploying that shield takes time, and since Kakashi’s Kamui involves spatial cutting, whether it can be defended against is still unknown.

A light blue shield appeared in front of Su Xiao. The shield was three meters high and two meters wide, overall crystal clear, like a piece of art. It was an energy shield constructed with 300 mana points.

Using his elbow, he fiercely rammed the energy shield, causing Su Xiao’s body to recede slightly.

Kaka!

The energy shield was shattered by space, but before this happened, Su Xiao’s left fist was tightly clenched, and the Boundary Line wrapped around the high branches retracted.

With a swoosh, Su Xiao’s body was pulled upwards, floating in mid-air.

As Kamui gradually dissipated, the already shattered energy shield on the ground dispersed. Blood seeped from Su Xiao’s chest, and a spiral scar appeared on his chest, with wounds spreading across half of it.

Mid-air, Su Xiao tightly gripped his long knife and slashed a blade aura in the direction of Kakashi seemingly out of nowhere.

Zheng.

The blade aura flew out, slicing through the air with a swishing sound. Having just used Kamui, Kakashi was gasping for breath, and he awkwardly dodged to the side, barely evading the blade aura.

The blade aura carved through the ground, leaving a very deep cut before disappearing.

Retracting the Boundary Line, Su Xiao landed steadily on the ground.

Just as he landed, he stomped on the ground and charged towards Kakashi. Kakashi took a deep breath, preparing to temporarily retreat, as he could still use Kamui once more with his chakra.

Just as Kakashi was about to retreat, an unexpected change occurred. A white snake burst out of the ground, wrapping around Kakashi’s foot.

”Earth Jutsu·Rock Layer.”

Kaka! A layer of black rock clung to Kakashi’s leg, and the white snake climbed upward.

In his forward charge, Su Xiao detonated an Alchemy Bomb.

”Explode!”

Bang.

The flames engulfed Kakashi, and Su Xiao used his left hand to shield his face, ignoring the searing heat as he dashed inside.

As he charged into the flames, the whistling sound of wind approached—it was Kakashi wielding a kunai.

The kunai thrust towards Su Xiao’s face, but a small energy shield a few centimeters in size appeared.

Ding.

The kunai struck the energy shield, but the shield didn’t budge, causing Kakashi’s palm to go slightly numb.

Su Xiao’s long knife thrust forward too, and it was very clear that Kakashi didn’t possess such energy shield abilities.

Thud, the long knife pierced through his chest. Kakashi knew things were over; he was doomed.

”Shadow Sting.”

Thud, thud, over a dozen sharp spikes emerged from Kakashi’s body, his eyes widened, but at the last moment, he slightly twisted his body. Only one light blue spike grazed an artery of his heart.

Blue Steel Shadow energy surged into Kakashi’s body, causing his consciousness to become blurry.

Su Xiao held Kakashi aloft with his knife, and with his hand wrapped in a red protective arm, he reached towards Kakashi’s cheek.

”Ah!!”

A miserable scream resounded as Su Xiao held an eyeball in his hand.

Pulling the Dragon Slash from Kakashi’s body, leaving the Shadow Sting inside, Su Xiao then slashed at Kakashi’s throat.

”Night Phoenix!”

A furious and extreme roar reverberated, accompanied by a terrifying whistling sound. Su Xiao immediately generated three layers of shields with a strength of 300 mana points around him, while simultaneously activating the Invincible Shield.

Boom!

Flames soared to the sky, and Su Xiao was kicked far away by an unknown enemy, causing him to almost faint mid-air.

Seeing the three layers of energy shields that had been shattered by the kick, Su Xiao felt a chill, but the last layer was only slightly cracked. Considering the incoming enemy’s strength, the shield’s defense was quite formidable.

As the flames subsided, a man in green clothing, steaming blue from every inch of his body, stood protectively in front of Kakashi.

With a bang, Su Xiao stopped after crashing into a large area of dirt.

”Pfft.”

He spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva, feeling as though all his bones were about to scatter. He looked at the person who had come, recognizing him as Kai, the one who had opened the Seven Gates!

At this moment, Kai was drenched in sweat, his chest heaving erratically, having apparently exerted a lot of stamina earlier.

The fact was exactly that. Kai had opened the gates during his previous battle with Kisame and then fought against enemies simulated by the barrier, resulting in a significant drop in stamina.

Behind Kai, Kakashi’s left eye was tightly closed, with blood streaming from the eye socket, and a not-so-shallow wound on his neck.

”Kakashi, are you alright?”

”I’m fine... Temporarily... I won’t die. Be careful when engaged in close combat with the enemy.”

”Mm.”

Kai calmed his breath, staring intently at Su Xiao.

Su Xiao glanced at Kakashi, feeling that it wouldn’t be possible to kill Kakashi today.

”Consider yourself lucky.”

With a thought, Su Xiao caused hundreds of small white frogs to emerge from the ground.

Boom, boom, boom!

The explosion echoed throughout the valley, leaving Kai with no choice but to shield the seriously injured Kakashi.

Su Xiao mounted the arriving Bubu Wang, who, although not usually involved in combat, was very adept at finding opportunities when retreating.

”Woof.”

Bubu Wang took off in a wild dash; Kai chose not to pursue because if Kakashi’s injuries weren’t treated soon, he could die.

Ten minutes later, Su Xiao burst out of the woods, with roaring sounds coming from the forest behind him.

A black energy orb soared into the sky and exploded. Seeing this, Su Xiao already guessed what it was; a Tailed Beast Bomb, indicating Deidara had infuriated Naruto.

Su Xiao didn’t bother with Deidara. That guy was courting death in provoking the Nine-Tails, and if Naruto went full Nine-Tails, even Nagato might not be able to handle it.

This place was not suitable for a prolonged stay, so Su Xiao planned to leave temporarily.

Just as he was about to exit the forest, a wounded figure dripping with blood rushed out from a bush.

”Brother Bai Ye, it’s great to see you, hmm.”

At this moment, Deidara looked battered, with one hand and a leg missing.

Without a second word, Su Xiao grabbed Deidara by the collar, and Bubu Wang took off.

”Wait, my hand and foot are still in the forest. As long as we find Kakuza, he can stitch me back up.”

”We’ll talk about it later; there’s someone even stronger than a Tailed Beast in the forest.”

”Huh?”

Deidara was visibly taken aback.

”Otherwise, why do you think I retreated first?”

Su Xiao didn’t explain further to Deidara. He had almost killed Kakashi, which had clearly angered Kai, who might even open the Eighth Gate to give him a deadly kick, Night Kai.

The Night Phoenix kick from the Seven Gates almost broke three layers of energy shields, and as for Night Kai, that move was on a completely different level from the Seven Gates. Su Xiao was certain that even a Secondary Invincible Shield couldn’t withstand it, and he would be instantly killed.

Su Xiao and Deidara dashed out of the forest, erasing their tracks along the way, and rested in a village within the River Country.

The possibility of being pursued by Konoha Ninja wasn’t high. That night, Deidara sat on a clay bird and returned to the forest alone, presumably to retrieve his severed hand and leg.

Su Xiao lay in a local residence, his chest wrapped in bandages, too exhausted to move. The previous kick from Kai was too powerful, nearly killing him.

Just as Su Xiao was about to drift asleep, a prompt from Reincarnation Paradise appeared.

[You have evaded the pursuers. The One-Tail Capture Battle has concluded, and the result is: Victory!]

[Calculating rewards...]

[You have gained 15% of the World Source.]

[You have received Soul Crystal (Medium) ×5.]

[You have earned 600 points of Contribution Value from the Akatsuki Organization.]

A smile crept onto Su Xiao’s face. Although the One-Tail Capture Battle was fraught with danger, the rewards were exceptionally generous.

He took out a glass vial from his storage space, filled with a light-yellow liquid in which a Sharingan floated. This was the eye he had seized from Kakashi, and it had yet to be certified by Reincarnation Paradise.

”Obito, what are you willing to offer in exchange for this eye?”

If it were before, Su Xiao wouldn’t have considered trading with Obito, as he wasn’t strong enough, and it would have been suicidal. But things were different after elevating the Blue Steel Shadow to Level 20. The energy shield could be considered a divine skill, and his strength had greatly increased.

Now, Su Xiao had the qualification to trade with Obito, and he was very curious about what Obito would be willing to pay for this eye. After all, having one Sharingan or two made a world of difference.

Su Xiao had a vague feeling that aside from advancing the Blue Steel Shadow, the Sharingan was his most significant gain from the One-Tail Capture Battle.
