Chapter 1299: Chapter 1298: We Won’t Release a Single Enemy

Finally, they found Vision.

To be precise, it was Vision’s remains.

A wrecked body too horrible to look at.

”.........”

No one spoke, everyone just silently watched this, mourning the death of their companion. Moments later, Tony unhesitatingly turned around and left.

”Hey, Tony, where are you going?”

Seeing this, Dr. Banner hurriedly walked over to stop him. But Tony pushed Dr. Banner away as he began to transform.

”Do I need to say it? I’m going to find the bastards who killed Vision, I want to see how many heads they have, enough to blow them to pieces!”

”Calm down, calm down!”

Seeing Tony fully transform into Iron Man, Dr. Banner hurriedly held him back.

”Do you know who they are? Do you know where they are? And are you planning to just go there all alone? How do you know you won’t end up like Vision?”

”......Get out of my way.”

However, Tony clearly didn’t intend to listen to Dr. Banner’s advice. He reached out again, trying to push Banner away. But at this moment, Captain America silently walked over and grabbed Tony’s hand. The two watched each other, yet no one spoke.

Finally, after a moment, Tony spoke.

”What do you want to do?”

”Vision was my friend too.”

Finally, Captain spoke.

”I feel the same as you, but we know nothing about the enemy right now. We must find out who they are and what kind of power they possess. Only then can we defeat them and avenge Vision.”

”What about Wanda?”

At this time, Black Widow also walked over.

”Where’s Wanda?”

”We didn’t find Wanda.”

Captain America released Tony’s hand, and Tony stood silently by his side. Although he didn’t say anything, his armor had once again disappeared.

”Maybe she escaped, or maybe she was captured by the enemy.”

”Maybe.”

Black Widow wasn’t particularly convinced by Captain America’s statement. Strictly speaking, it didn’t seem like a deduction, but more like a hope. After all, reason told her that the enemy was here for Vision’s gemstone, and now that Vision’s gemstone was clearly taken, there was no need for the enemy to go out of their way to capture Wanda. So, if they continue to infer based on this......the result is obviously not what they want.

Even if she escaped or was captured, at least she would still be alive, but if that wasn’t the case......

”Alright, let’s see what exactly turned our friend into this.”

Tony decisively interrupted Black Widow’s thinking. He returned to the experiment station and snapped his fingers. Soon, a three-dimensional holographic scan appeared before them. Seeing the holographic image, Tony and Dr. Banner couldn’t help but widen their eyes.

”What’s wrong? What did you find?”

Seeing this, Strange couldn’t help but ask curiously, while Dr. Banner shook his head.

”Hard to say, we initially thought the enemy tortured Vision to death......”

”Wasn’t that the case?”

”To be precise, it’s even more brutal than torture.”

Tony said coldly, then he reached out and swiped his hand. The next moment, the holographic image was immediately dissected.

”Look, his body isn’t just twisted on the surface. In fact, every part inside is similarly twisted. It’s as if some force twisted everything from the inside out in one direction. It’s very unnatural, like I could break your neck, but your heart wouldn’t twist because I broke your neck. But Vision’s case... feels like all his organs and body were forcibly twisted and torn apart......damn, what could possibly do this!”

”Whoever it is, they are our enemy.”

Silently watching Vision’s remains, Captain America said.

”We won’t let any enemy go.”

While the Avengers mourned and vowed revenge for their friend, Fang Zheng was leisurely enjoying himself in a beachfront villa with azure seas under a blue sky.

”Father!”

Soon, the door opened, and Aika appeared before Fang Zheng. Seeing Aika’s arrival, Fang Zheng smiled and stood up, while Aika ran over and threw herself into Fang Zheng’s arms.

”I’m back, Father!”

”Welcome back, was everything smooth on your way?”

”Of course.”

Aika nodded as she spoke, then reached out to hand Fang Zheng a yellow gemstone. Fang Zheng took the gemstone and casually put it in his pocket. Then he reached out to pat Aika’s little head.

”Well done.”

”Hehe......”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s praise, Aika showed a happy smile, but soon, she became dejected.

”But......”

”But?”

”The notebook that Father gave me was destroyed during the battle...”

With that, Aika lowered her head helplessly.

”I initially just wanted to talk to them nicely and ask them to give me the Soul Gem, but they refused, so we ended up fighting. Then they damaged my notebook, and in a fit of anger, I killed them all.”

”I see...”

Fang Zheng patted Aika’s head.

”Did you involve any innocent bystanders?”

”Of course not. Before the fight started, I used a Barrier to drive all the ordinary people away.”

”That’s good.”

”Father.”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s response, Aika looked up, blinking curiously.

”You’ve always told me not to kill people randomly, so... who exactly deserves to be killed? And who doesn’t? How does Father judge all of this?”

For Aika, this was indeed a confusing matter. In Aika’s eyes, everyone in this world was like ants. She gave them equal love, equal death, and stepping on any ant would not make Aika feel there was anything wrong. Thus, she always had doubts about Fang Zheng’s teachings.

”In my case, hmm...”

Hearing Aika’s question, Fang Zheng pondered for a moment. He understood that his actions had at last influenced Aika, and her curiosity and doubt were a good start.

”In my case... it’s determined by stance.”

”Stance?”

”That’s right. I believe that a person should first determine their stance, and then discern right from wrong.”

Fang Zheng sat down and looked Aika in the eyes, speaking word by word.

”To me, the most important thing is the people around me: my family, friends, companions. Everyone at the Heavenly Dao Palace, the people I care about. For their sake, I am willing to do anything, regardless of whether it involves killing or arson, or regardless of what is deemed right or wrong in this world. I try to do the right thing rather than randomly killing the innocent because I want them to be happier and not cause them distress or a heavy burden. After all, the whole world is akin to a society, and if I kill indiscriminately, it will cause them trouble and condemnation.”

”I understand.”

Hearing this, Aika nodded.

”So, if I kill for Father’s sake, others would consider Father a villain?”

”That’s about right.”

Fang Zheng smiled slightly.

”Conversely, if I were to kill indiscriminately for you, others would also consider you to be the root of all evil.”

”I get it!”

Aika nodded vigorously again, and Fang Zheng continued.

”Beyond my family, friends, and companions, I also protect my country and nation, which is an act of moral support. I am willing, within my capabilities, to provide some help, like protecting them from foreign harm or offering advanced technology and knowledge. Of course, it also includes eliminating some enemies. Beyond this is my hometown. Simply put, it’s the people living on the land I am familiar with. Lastly, it’s all of humanity. The reason is straightforward: because we are all human. However, there is a distinction.”

”A distinction?”

”Exactly.”

Fang Zheng spread his hands.

”The reason I protect humanity is because it includes my hometown, my country, and my nation. If humanity were a completely different species with no connection to me, then their life or death would mean nothing to me. But because my species is human... well, at least I once was human, and since my family, friends, and companions are human too, I will protect humanity. However, this protection is very broad. Simply put, unless humanity faces an existential crisis, I will handle their internal affairs based on my stance.”

At this point, Fang Zheng raised a finger.

”In other words, what matters most to me are my family, friends, and companions, followed by my country and nation, and lastly humanity and Earth’s civilization. All of these are based on the most important people to me, and if they did not exist, the latter two would mean nothing to me. Do you understand?”

”I understand!”

This time, Aika nodded vigorously once more.

”To me, Father is the most important person, and for Father’s sake, I will work hard!”

”Good girl.”

Hearing Aika’s words, Fang Zheng smiled and patted her head.

”Those people aren’t anything to fear. As I said, they’re just at the end of the priority list. If those American circus Jokers don’t come looking for trouble with us, we’ll just pretend they don’t exist. But if they dare to come at us, we don’t mind taking them out in the process. Hmm... you did well this time, so I’ll give you a gift.”

”A gift?”

”That’s right.”

Saying this, Fang Zheng reached out, rummaging in the item inventory, and then pulled out a laptop, handing it to Aika. Aika opened the laptop and curiously clicked on a program, her face soon revealing a surprised expression.

”Father, this is...?”

”I knew something like this would happen, so while you were programming, I backed up the server using my personal terminal.”

Fang Zheng said, waving his personal terminal at Aika.

”Every time you write code, you leave a copy on the server, so... you have nothing to worry about.”

”Thank you, Father!”

Upon hearing this, Aika let out a squeal, then threw herself into Fang Zheng’s arms.
