Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1257: Chapter 1256: The Other Side of Parallelism (Still Need to Write It Down)

”Eh? Mr. Fang Zheng...”

Fate stared wide-eyed at Fang Zheng in front of her, momentarily thinking she was seeing an illusion.

However, the sensation from above was familiar, and the person in front of her was indeed...

”Eh? Eh? But aren’t you...”

”I thought it over and decided to take some time to come visit, after all, it’s your first birthday.”

Fang Zheng wasn’t wrong in saying that; he indeed ”took some time off.” Right now, on the Dark Region’s side, it happened to be Fang Zheng’s turn to rest, so he duly and unceremoniously returned to his room. After much contemplation, Fang Zheng decided to come and see Fate.

So, Fang Zheng directly used ”Unsealing Master” to open a door to the Heavenly Dao Palace realm and then sneaked over at the fastest speed.

To be on the safe side, Fang Zheng even employed the Boson Jump... All right, he did learn some useful things from the Mech World.

”Where’s Elysia? Has she gone to bed?”

”Yes.”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Fate nodded.

”Sister has already gone to sleep...”

Though in name Elysia is the sister, her body is still that of a little girl under ten years old. The birthday party was lively, and Elysia had a lot of fun. Thus, she was already exhausted and had said goodnight and gone to bed earlier.

”Well, then it’s just as well. I didn’t bring any gifts this time...”

Fang Zheng patted himself down and realized that among the things he could give away, there were probably only the Scorching Warhorse’s reins and the Headless Knight’s reins... But giving those to Fate and the others... seemed not particularly suitable either.

If he had pulled out a Phoenix or Northwind Young Dragon, there might still be some hope.

”I’ll make up for it next time...”

However, before Fang Zheng finished his sentence, Fate suddenly threw herself into his arms, hugging him tightly.

”No need... Mr. Fang Zheng. Your presence is the best gift...”

”Is that so...”

Feeling the petite body of the girl in his embrace, Fang Zheng sighed softly, then reached out and gently stroked Fate’s long hair.

”How are things with Precia?”

”Getting along with my mother is... okay...”

Facing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Fate gave a vague response, but this was within Fang Zheng’s expectations.

This was also Precia’s own fault.

Although with Elysia’s resurrection, Precia was gradually reverting to the gentle and kind mother, her relationship with Fate remained somewhat strained. After learning that she was merely a substitute for Elysia, Fate was unsure how to face Precia, and Precia, having previously isolated Fate, now didn’t know how to interact with her.

Fortunately, with Elysia, the adorable little one around, the two were barely glued back together. But now it seemed, Fate was still closer to herself than to Precia.

However...

As they say, even an impartial judge struggles with family matters; Fang Zheng could only offer advice on such matters.

”All right, it’s late, you should be going to bed too.”

”Yes... okay.”

Although she wished to stay a little longer by Fang Zheng’s side, Fate was an obedient and well-behaved girl. She understood that Fang Zheng had made time to see her, and having him celebrate her birthday was already satisfying enough. She wouldn’t be willful anymore.

”This cake... is for you, Mr. Fang Zheng.”

”Oh?”

Receiving the cake, Fang Zheng was slightly surprised but smiled and nodded at Fate, then popped the cake into his mouth.

”Hmm, not bad, very delicious...”

”Then, may I make a small request?”

”What is it?”

”Mr. Fang Zheng, could you walk me to my bedroom door?”

”Bedroom... alright.”

Upon hearing Fate’s request, Fang Zheng was briefly taken aback, then quickly nodded in agreement. Looking at Fate in front of him, he even felt a tinge of heartache; after all, the little girl was too obedient and well-behaved. Even her small act of willfulness was only to this extent.

”Then, shall we go?”

”Yes...”

Hearing Fang Zheng speak, Fate took hold of his extended hand, and they turned and walked into the room.

Out onto the balcony, across the living room, down the hallway, up the stairs to the second floor.

No matter how much Fate wished to prolong it, the journey only took a few short minutes. Soon, she reached her bedroom door.

”Alright, go to sleep.”

”Yes...”

Opening the door, Fate hesitated for a moment, then turned around and waved to Fang Zheng.

”Mr. Fang Zheng, I have something I want to tell you.”

”Hmm? What is it?”

Hearing Fate speak, Fang Zheng bent down to look at her. However, to his surprise, Fate suddenly reached out, wrapped her arms around his neck, then stood on tiptoe and lightly kissed him on the cheek. Fang Zheng could even feel the fleeting touch of her tongue...

”Y-your mouth... has cream on it...”

Face flushed, Fate said this, then turned and slipped into her bedroom and closed the door. Fang Zheng stood there dumbfounded, and after a moment, he reached up to touch his lips, then helplessly shook his head with a wry smile.

Fate was learning to be naughty...

”Ha...”

Leaning tightly against her bedroom door, Fate was breathing lightly. She could feel her heart pounding wildly, almost as if it would leap out of her chest.

Although she had done even more embarrassing things to Fang Zheng before, it had been Little Hei’s suggestion, and Fate had merely adopted and executed it. But this time, she wanted to take the initiative...

Fate reached up, placing her hand on her lips, gently touching, savoring the sensation from earlier. Behind her, there was no sound from the other side of the door; clearly, Fang Zheng had already left.

What would Mr. Fang Zheng think? Would he see this as childish mischief? Or...

At this thought, Fate shook her head, then, as if evading something, jumped into bed and pulled the covers over herself.

”Ugh...”

How embarrassing, to have done something like that... but... perhaps... she could ask Little Hei...

Yes, that’s the plan!

With this idea in mind, Fate seemed to find her goal, then she peacefully closed her eyes and soon fell into a deep sleep.
