Chapter 1261: Chapter 1260: Scheming Against Each Other

Although they lost quite a few Dark Elves, it was clear that they ultimately achieved their goal. Fang Zheng didn’t know what these Dark Elves had obtained there, but he didn’t care.

After all, once these Dark Elves started their ritual, the truth would come to light.

Sure enough, two days after Fang Zheng completed this operation, he received a communication from Little Hei.

”Big brother, those dark-skinned aunts told us not to look after those Elf sisters anymore.”

”Oh? So, are you coming back?”

”No, those dark-skinned aunts locked us in a room and won’t let us go out.”

”I understand.”

Upon hearing Little Hei’s response, Fang Zheng nodded, then after some thought, he asked again.

”How are those Elves’ feelings now?”

”Feelings??”

”Earlier you said they attempted suicide because they didn’t want to be touched by male Dark Elves, how about now?”

”Now that you mention it... it does feel a bit off, they’ve been acting quite normal lately, which seems a bit unusual.”

”Oh?”

”I think so too; those Elves must be plotting something.”

At this moment, Kurumi also joined the discussion.

”They’ve been quite obedient lately, but they’re very wary of us, by the looks of it, they clearly know it’s unlikely they’ll make it back alive. Maybe they want to take the opportunity to do something... of course, this is just my guess.”

”You haven’t revealed your identities to them, right?”

”I wanted to, but Sister Kurumi stopped me.”

Walnut began to complain in her private communication.

”It would be better to explain, why not tell them anything? Looking at how anxious they are now, I’m always worried they might do something foolish. Telling them Big Brother Fang Zheng is here to rescue them would be better, wouldn’t it? They wouldn’t have to be so on edge all day.”

”Those Dark Elves aren’t fools; if those Elves change their attitude this quickly, they’ll surely notice. Do you really think they haven’t assigned someone to watch us? I’ve sensed multiple times that eyes are monitoring us secretly. At times like this, it’s better not to cause unnecessary trouble.”

”Kurumi made the right call.”

Fang Zheng also agreed with Kurumi’s decision; this was why he brought Kurumi along. Homura was still too young, Walnut was not steady enough, and Little Hei was quite impulsive. Only Kurumi had the most meticulous mind among them. With her here, Fang Zheng need not worry about any mistakes.

”Since those Dark Elves have confined you, it indicates that their plan is now on schedule, so let’s discuss the rescue operation.”

While Fang Zheng and Kurumi were discussing how to rescue these Elves, in the First Family’s secret chamber, Matriarch Coresa was listening to her daughter’s report.

”So... you’re saying he killed that thing with just one strike?”

”Yes, Mother.”

Standing before Matriarch Coresa was her daughter.

”I’ve asked many people who were present at the time, and they all said that human male only swung his sword once... no, it seems he didn’t even attack the Creature, he just stuck his sword in the lake water, and burned all the Nagas and the Creature they venerated to death!”

At this point, a trace of fear finally appeared on the face of the Dark Elf Priest. Although, in principle, Dark Elves looked down upon other races, even Angels weren’t given a second thought. But face to face with an incomprehensible, unknown, and powerful entity, any living being would feel primal fear and unease.

After all, this power was just too overwhelming, and this human male’s motives remained unclear. While the Dark Elves had encountered many powerful outsiders, one this powerful was clearly beyond their control. And for the Dark Elves, this was the last thing they wanted to see.

”Mother, shouldn’t we just drive him away, or use his subordinates to threaten him? I have a bad feeling, this human male probably isn’t as simple as we imagined. If we continue to let him stay here, it might pose a threat to our upcoming ritual and plan!”

”No need to worry.”

Unexpectedly, contrary to the Priest’s anxiety and fear, Matriarch Coresa showed a very confident and calm demeanor.

”This might even work better; our plan will be even smoother.”

”Smoother? Mother, I don’t understand what you mean, you know the strength of that human male might rival yours, aren’t you worried he has designs on our First Family?”

Looking at her mother, the Dark Elf Priest was unsure of what to say. Though she spoke rather euphemistically, from the scene and the accounts from others, the Dark Elf Priest had formed a rather terrifying hypothesis regarding Fang Zheng’s strength. The First Family knew all too well how difficult that Sea Serpent was to defeat.

Yet Fang Zheng easily eliminated it, causing the Dark Elf Priest to grow increasingly wary of this human. Even though Matriarch Coresa, favored by the Spider Goddess, probably couldn’t as effortlessly eliminate that Creature.

And yet this man managed it with such ease!

Deep within, the Priest had already formed a bold idea, that this man might be stronger than her own mother!

This was why she was eager to send Fang Zheng and others away; to her, leaving such an individual could be too dangerous for the upcoming ritual of the First Family.

”No need to worry.”

Nonetheless, Matriarch Coresa maintained a composed demeanor.

”Perhaps you don’t know, but now, given the situation, there’s no need to hide it from you. The truth is... for this ceremony, the great Spider Goddess will descend personally!”

”What?”

Hearing this, the Dark Elf Priest widened her eyes in surprise.

The Goddess will descend personally?!

Even during the previous rituals for communicating with the Goddess, they only exchanged with the Goddess’s Maid! And now, the Goddess would descend in person?!

This is Divine Presence!

”Then, Mother, shouldn’t we be even more...?”

”That man is destined to be the best offering to the Goddess.”

Saying this, Matriarch Coresa revealed a satisfied smile.

”I really want to see what kind of expression he will show when the Goddess descends before him...”
