Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1278: Chapter 1277: Just Like They Say—Go Wild If You Don’t Get Beaten for Three Days

”Seriously...?”

Standing on the road at the foot of the mountain and looking at the mansion that was faintly visible through the trees, Fang Zheng, who had transformed into the Red Ponytail form, couldn’t help but sigh.

Afterwards, he even confirmed it with Fiore several times. As a result, Fang Zheng had no choice but to reluctantly confirm that the so-called mage who inherited the Fifth Magic was Aoko Aozaki, who had been blown up by him in a single move and photographed!

She can be a mage? You must be kidding me! That dunce who can’t do anything, who’s dumb and slow, with nothing but a big chest and no brains?

Forget it, anyway, I might as well go take a look first.

There was no change in the mansion between the mountains, it was still the same as before, yet Fang Zheng rudely pushed open the large door.

”Suruma, your Emperor has returned!”

”..........”

However, the mansion was empty.

”Is it the wrong time?”

Fang Zheng scratched his head, then opened the personal terminal to check the date, hmm... it’s Wednesday, which means she’s still in school?

Never mind, I’ll wait until they come back.

Although he had only stayed in this mansion for a few days, Fang Zheng showed not the slightest hint of politeness. Since there was no one, he just made himself a pot of black tea, then lay down on the sofa and turned on the TV to watch some shows.

While sipping black tea and watching unexciting entertainment programs, Fang Zheng lay on the sofa, yawning and slipping into dreamland.

He didn’t know how long he had slept when Fang Zheng slowly woke up, yawning and stretching.

”Whoo-ah...”

At the same time, Fang Zheng opened his eyes, and suddenly froze.

Right opposite him on the sofa, Kuonji Arcueid was sitting there quietly, holding a book and reading. In front of her was a teacup, and from the look of the situation, she’d been there for quite some time.

”Yo, long time no see.”

Fang Zheng waved with a cheeky grin at Yuzhu, but...

”...Rustle.”

Yuzhu seemed to ignore Fang Zheng’s greeting and silently turned a page in her novel.

”Hey... Yuzhu?”

”......”

Looking at Yuzhu, who still had her head down, staring at the novel in her hands, Fang Zheng scratched his head.

”You’re not mad, are you...?”

”I’m not mad.”

This time, Yuzhu finally spoke.

”You’re just a passerby. You can come and go as you like. I have no reason to be mad.”

Ugh... she’s still upset about how quickly I left last time...

Although Yuzhu’s tone was calm, Fang Zheng could sense the dissatisfaction and resentment within. But he didn’t have much choice back then. At the time, it was his first time transforming into the Red Ponytail, so he was obliged to revert after 24 hours. Of course, Fang Zheng couldn’t let Yuzhu see him transform back into a man, or he’d lose face!

Okay, he admits he left a bit too hastily back then. But at least he did say goodbye to Yuzhu, right? Surely she wouldn’t hold a grudge all this time after all this time has passed?

”Alright, alright, don’t be mad. I brought you a gift, you see, sweets from the Capital City! They taste really good, and don’t girls love sweets? Come on, try a piece, and let’s put the past behind us...”

With these words, Fang Zheng pulled out a gift box and produced a piece of pastry, pushing it toward Yuzhu’s mouth. Yuzhu was silent for a moment, then she opened her mouth and took a small bite.

Whew, managed to smooth that over.

Just as Fang Zheng was secretly letting out a breath of relief, Yuzhu suddenly raised her head to look at him and spoke again.

”Are you going to leave again?”

”Huh? This...”

When Yuzhu asked him that, Fang Zheng didn’t know what to say. Although Yuzhu seemed indifferent, for some reason, Fang Zheng felt like he was seeing a little girl clinging to him with teary eyes, yelling ”I won’t let you go” in his imagination...

It can’t be. They’ve known each other for just a day!

As Fang Zheng was internally stressed, wondering how to respond, the mansion’s door suddenly opened again, and another voice echoed.

”I’m back, Yuzhu. Hmm? Do we have guests today?”

With this voice, Fang Zheng soon saw Aoko walk in, and upon spotting Fang Zheng in his Red Ponytail form, she froze solid.

”Yo, long time no see.”

Fang Zhen greeted Aoko with the same cheeky grin, but she stood there frozen like she’d turned to stone. Fang Zheng then walked over to Aoko, waving his hand in front of her face.

”Hey, what’s up? Too happy to speak after seeing me?”

”You actually dare to come back?!”

Hearing this, Aoko seemed to snap back to reality, jumping up and glaring at Fang Zheng, yelling angrily.

”Why wouldn’t I dare? It’s not your house. I’m just here to see Yuzhu for a chat. Can’t I?”

”You... fine, fine! I can’t win an argument with you, but you came just in time!”

”For what? What do you want to do?”

”Those photos! You better tear them up, or else, you’ll regret it!”

Seeing Fang Zheng, Aoko was reminded of the humiliation she had suffered before. She had actually been photographed by a little girl like this, posing so shamefully! In the past, Aoko might not have been able to do anything against the Red Ponytail, but it’s different now. She’s a Fifth Magic mage! Though it’s a bit like bullying, in Aoko’s view, this was the best method to wash away her shame!

Otherwise, if those photos were to spread...

”Regret it?!”

Upon hearing Aoko’s words, Fang Zheng raised an eyebrow. A little beating, huh? Do you think I’d fear you just because you’re a mage now? If I don’t give you a good lesson, you won’t understand what it means to have others above and the sky above the heavens!

Do you really think being a mage means I can’t handle you? Not happening!

”How about we go again? I declare in advance, if you lose again this time, you’re going out for a walk with me! And you’re wearing dog ears and tail, along with a collar and chain!”

”No problem! But if I win, you’d better be ready to suffer!”

Aoko accepted the challenge with glee. She believed that this pesky Little Red was so overconfident because she didn’t know Aoko’s current true identity. Aoko had already begun to fantasize about how this annoying little girl would sob and beg for mercy after witnessing her mage power.

But she absolutely wouldn’t let her off. At that time... hehe...

The two exchanged a glance, then both let out strange chuckles.

While Yuzhu closed her novel with a sigh of resignation.
