Chapter 1268: Chapter 1267: Aki Tomoya’s Unease

What’s going on here?

Watching the two people chatting happily in front of him, Aki Tomoya instinctively hid, adjusting his glasses as he glanced toward the station not far away. Yes, standing there was Kato Megumi, and in front of her was a man...

Seeing this man, Aki Tomoya felt a shiver in his heart.

Isn’t this... Eiriri’s boyfriend?

No mistake, Aki Tomoya would never forget that face. In fact, after that day, Aki Tomoya had discreetly investigated Fang Zheng’s situation through his connections, but the information he gathered was quite discouraging. The other person was handsome, charming, young, wealthy, and even the leader of a big company, excelling in all aspects.

By comparison, he was just a small, frustrated otaku.

This left Aki Tomoya with an unusually complex feeling, but since they hadn’t met for so long, perhaps there would never be another chance. So he forced himself to put it behind him.

But now, what Aki Tomoya hadn’t expected was... he’d actually run into him again under these circumstances.

What’s going on? Why is this man chatting with Kato? What are they talking about?

Watching the scene unfold, Aki Tomoya’s mind was in chaos. By right, he should have gone over to greet Kato Megumi and then left with her. However now... seeing Fang Zheng standing there, he didn’t dare step forward!

Why is that?

”Has the person you’re waiting for not arrived yet?”

Fang Zheng chatted with Kato Megumi for a while, but seeing her companion hadn’t appeared, he curiously asked. Kato Megumi also puzzled, took out her phone and looked.

”How strange, the scheduled time has already passed?”

”Could it be like in some romance anime or game, where you arrived half an hour early and then when the other person arrives you say ’I just got here too’ or something...?”

”That only happens in dramas, but Aki is really strange, I’ll call and ask.”

Saying this, Kato Megumi picked up her phone, apologized to Fang Zheng, and then went to the side to dial Aki Tomoya’s number.

”Ring... ring... ring...!”

The phone ringing startled Aki Tomoya, making him quickly jump up, lean against the wall, and then answer the phone.

”Hello? Aki, where are you?”

”Ah, Kato... this... right!”

Hearing Kato Megumi’s question, Aki Tomoya didn’t know what to say, then as if a lightbulb went off in his mind, he suddenly brightened up.

”Right, you leave the station and come to the convenience store, I’m waiting for you here.”

”Uh, okay.”

Had it been any other girl, they might have had some questions over Aki Tomoya’s bizarre act, but Kato Megumi was clearly used to his unpredictability, so she simply glanced towards the convenience store, nodded, and hung up the call.

”Well, Mr. Fang Zheng, I’ll be off then.”

”Oh, have fun.”

Fang Zheng waved at Kato Megumi, who respectfully bowed to him and then turned to head toward the convenience store. Just as she reached the corner of the convenience store, Aki Tomoya suddenly stretched out his hand to pull her over.

”Aki? What are you doing here?”

Looking at Aki Tomoya beside her, Kato Megumi curiously asked. Clearly they had agreed to meet at the station, but he showed up here instead...

”Ah, that... no, what are you doing?”

In the face of Kato Megumi’s questioning, Aki Tomoya was left speechless, stuttering for a while before hurriedly changing the subject.

”I was chatting with Mr. Fang Zheng, you’ve met Mr. Fang Zheng, Eiriri’s boyfriend...”

”Ah... well, I know that.”

Aki Tomoya gave an awkward smile before continuing to inquire.

”Is he heading somewhere?”

”No, he said he’s going to the amusement park with Eiriri and the others.”

”To the amusement park?”

Saying this, Aki Tomoya subconsciously glanced again in Fang Zheng’s direction, and was surprised to see a black-haired girl in gothic attire approach Fang Zheng and greet him. Then... she stood on tiptoe and gently kissed his cheek!

What’s going on here?

Witnessing this, Aki Tomoya’s eyes widened in surprise.

”What’s wrong?”

Seeing Aki Tomoya’s expression, Kato Megumi also turned to look, but at this moment, Aki Tomoya quickly pulled Kato Megumi back out of sight, peeking out toward the station. Fang Zheng and the black-haired girl warmly embraced before chatting away cheerfully.

”Who is that?”

”I don’t know... but she seems to be someone Mr. Fang Zheng knows.”

”I don’t think it’s that simple... they just hugged and kissed!”

”Really... ”

Hearing this, Kato Megumi remained calm.

”Maybe siblings?”

”Doesn’t look like... wait... could it be...”

As Aki Tomoya hesitated, contemplating, the black-haired girl said something to Fang Zheng and then turned towards the convenience store. Seeing her approach, Aki Tomoya hurriedly pulled Kato Megumi back, hiding. Once she passed, they peeked out again.

”Aki, we should go, spying isn’t really a good habit...”

”Wait, something’s up, let’s watch a bit longer!”

Saying this, Aki Tomoya took out his phone, a daring thought forming in his mind—could it be... could it be...

”Oh, Mr. Fang Zheng!”

Just then, Aki Tomoya saw another girl with long chestnut hair, quite pretty, happily coming up to Fang Zheng. Skillfully, she extended her hand to hook around Fang Zheng’s arm, snuggling up to him. Fang Zheng lowered his head, and they... kissed!

”Wow...”

Seeing this, Kato Megumi let out a surprisingly shocked sound. If the interaction between Fang Zheng and the black-haired girl might be construed as affectionate siblings, then these two were clearly a couple!

But Eiriri clearly said he was her boyfriend, so what’s happening here?!

Witnessing this, Aki Tomoya and Kato Megumi were perplexed. However, at that moment, they saw Eiriri’s figure, gleefully running over from the other side, hugging Fang Zheng and merrily greeting the chestnut-haired girl. Just as this happened, the black-haired girl emerged from the convenience store, greeting Eiriri and the chestnut-haired girl, then boarded a car with Fang Zheng.

”... Kato, what do you think their relationship is?”

Seeing this, Aki Tomoya was utterly stunned, unsure how to react. Kato Megumi tilted her head slightly, pondering for a moment.

”Hmm... they seem close.”

”But there have to be limits to how close! And that guy, he’s supposed to be Eiriri’s boyfriend, yet he’s kissing other women? Is he cheating behind Eiriri’s back?”

”I don’t think it’s cheating behind her back...”

Kato Megumi couldn’t help but interject, because this was all happening in public; even though it wasn’t the most conspicuous place, Kato Megumi could tell that the interaction between the two girls and Fang Zheng was natural, without any sense of caution—meaning, they seemed not to worry at all about being seen by Eiriri.

”If this isn’t cheating, then what is? No way, I can’t let it slide!”

Saying this, Aki Tomoya clenched his fist.

”I have to let Eiriri know the true nature of that man!”
