Chapter 1269: Chapter 1268: Aki Tomoya’s Melancholy

”Tomoya? What’s up?”

Sitting in the café, Eiriri was leisurely sipping her drink while curiously looking at her childhood friend across the table.

Faced with Eiriri’s gaze, Aki Tomoya seemed a bit uneasy. He glanced around, then looked at the coffee in front of him. After a moment, he quietly asked.

”Um... Eiriri, how have you been lately?”

”Hmm? Not bad at all. I’ve decided to repeat the school year. You know, that school exclusively for Game World survivors... I convinced my mother to let me start over from sophomore year. Anyway, the procedures are done, so I just need to wait until next spring to start school with everyone else. Of course, before that, I need to think about the winter COMIC book... After all, in the two years I’ve been away, many people want to take my spot...”

At this, Eiriri flashed her little tiger teeth.

”It’s time for them to see my awesomeness!”

”Um... Eiriri...”

Looking at the spirited Eiriri, Aki Tomoya was unsure how to begin.

”Actually... there’s something I want to tell you, um...”

”Hmm? What is it?”

”Well... the thing is, I saw your boyfriend before...”

”Mr. Fang Zheng? What’s the matter?”

Hearing Aki Tomoya’s words, Eiriri blinked and looked at him curiously. At this moment, Aki Tomoya bit his lip and continued.

”That day, I saw it! Before you arrived, that man was very close with two girls, they even... kissed!”

”What day?”

Hearing Aki Tomoya’s words, Eiriri was momentarily stunned, but since Aki Tomoya had already started, he had no reason to hold back.

”It was last Saturday...”

”Ah, you mean the day we all went to the amusement park? Speaking of which, Mr. Fang did say he saw Hui that day...”

As she spoke, Eiriri picked up her cup and sipped her drink through a straw with a ”slurp.” Seeing Eiriri’s nonchalant attitude, Aki Tomoya was a bit taken aback. Wait, this reaction isn’t right?

Why is it like this?

”Um... I’m not lying, I saw it with my own eyes. That man was with a beautiful chestnut-haired girl... and a black-haired girl in Gothic clothing, just before you arrived...”

”Yes, I know.”

Eiriri nodded.

”Asuna and Black Cat.”

”You’re not angry?”

Looking at Eiriri’s calm and composed expression, Aki Tomoya felt as if his childhood friend had transformed into someone else. Based on his understanding of Eiriri, just hearing such a thing would have made her explode. Why is she so calm now? No one else would tolerate their boyfriend cheating!

But why is his childhood friend so calm? Does she not believe what he’s saying? As Aki Tomoya contemplated whether to present evidence to Eiriri, she gave a very calm answer.

”Why should I be angry?”

Eiriri pouted.

”They’re also Mr. Fang Zheng’s girlfriends. That’s normal.”

”Huh?”

At this, Aki Tomoya could hardly believe his ears.

”They’re also? What does that mean? Could it be...”

”Wait, do you mean... that man is dating three girls at the same time?”

”Pretty much.”

Of course, Eiriri also knew that there were clearly more than three around Fang Zheng, but she didn’t think this was worth discussing with Aki Tomoya.

”You can accept this?”

”Why couldn’t I?”

”Because... the guy is dating multiple girls at once! How can you fancy such a flirtatious man?”

At this point, Aki Tomoya was also getting agitated. He never imagined Eiriri would turn out like this!

Yet Eiriri continued to smile at Aki Tomoya, waiting for him to calm down before she started speaking.

”So, Tomoya, what kind of person do you think I should choose as a boyfriend?”

”Of course, at least someone who’s faithful, like the protagonist in a game, wholeheartedly devoted to the heroine! Otherwise, that would shake the reader’s base, wouldn’t it?”

As he said this, Aki Tomoya got agitated again, but Eiriri continued to rest her chin on her hands, smiling at him.

”Faithful, huh? Then, Tomoya, let me ask you a question.”

”What question?”

”Who do you like more, Shiyu of Misty Hill or Hui?”

”Well...”

Faced with Eiriri’s inquiry, Aki Tomoya was dumbfounded for a moment, unsure how to answer. But soon, he blushed and turned his head away.

”This has nothing to do with our current topic.”

”Haah...”

Hearing Aki Tomoya’s answer, Eiriri sighed disappointedly.

”You’re always like this.”

”Huh?”

Hearing Eiriri’s words, Aki Tomoya was taken aback.

”What do you mean by that?”

”Exactly what I said, Tomoya.”

Eiriri put down her drink, looking seriously at Aki Tomoya.

”Tomoya, girls aren’t pet dogs. You can’t just throw them a couple of bones and expect them to stick around forever. You’ve been like this ever since, and now that we’re in college, I thought you’d mature a bit, but you’re still so childish. Does avoiding problems solve anything? You should face reality. Do you think Shiyu of Misty Hill and Hui will always stay by your side? What about after graduation? Everyone will have jobs, their lives. It’s different from school; you won’t see each other every day or commute together. Time flows, it can’t be reversed. How long do you plan to continue like this?”

”I...”

Faced with Eiriri’s reprimand, Aki Tomoya was at a loss for words.

”I know what I’m doing, no need for you to remind me. It’s you, Tomoya, who should seriously consider your own situation. Standing still isn’t a great choice.”

As she spoke, Eiriri stood up.

”You should realize that reality isn’t a game; not everyone will stop and wait for you.”

At this, Eiriri glanced at her phone.

”I have something to do next, so I’ll be off.”

As she spoke, Eiriri waved at Aki Tomoya, then turned to leave. Aki Tomoya remained sitting in the chair, staring at the table in front of him, silent and speechless...
