Chapter 1258: Chapter 1257: The War of the Dark Elves

When Fang Zheng returned to his room through the spatial channel created by the Unsealing Master once more, before he even had a chance to sit down on the bed to rest for a moment, a Dark Elf Priest burst through the door.

”Don’t you Dark Elves understand the concept of personal privacy?”

Looking at the priest in front of him, Fang Zheng snorted irritably. If it were another woman barging into his room in the middle of the night, he would not mind a romantic encounter. But the Dark Elves, with their skin so black it shone, were out of the question, not to mention their hearts were as dark as their skins.

Furthermore, in Fang Zheng’s opinion, these Dark Elves were not beautiful; compared to the Elves, they were much less attractive.

This reminded Fang Zheng of an old saying from his hometown: ”A person’s appearance is born from their heart,” which could not be more fitting to describe these Dark Elves.

”You weren’t in the room just now. Where exactly did you go?”

The Dark Elf Priest glared fiercely at Fang Zheng, while her right hand continuously stroked the Three-Headed Snake Whip at her waist, clearly intending to assert dominance through this posture. However, unfortunately for her, it had no effect on Fang Zheng.

”I went out to explore the customs and traditions of the Dark Elves.”

Fang Zheng lied without blinking an eye, and upon hearing this, the Dark Elf Priest raised her eyebrows, fully aware that Fang Zheng was spouting nonsense.

”Watch your attitude, male! Even if you are the Martial Arts Master of the First Family, you are nothing but a lowly human male! This is the Dark Elf’s domain, and if you refuse to answer truthfully, I won’t mind making you and your subordinates suffer!”

”You can try, but I can’t guarantee the outcome.”

However, in the face of the Dark Elf Priest’s threat, Fang Zheng didn’t even bother to blink. Her anger was evident as the priest ground her teeth, but there was nothing she could do to Fang Zheng since his strength clearly surpassed what they could handle. Indeed, many human experts were arrogant, but on Dark Elf turf, they would typically obey and behave themselves.

Yet this troublesome human was completely different. He did not seem worried about encountering any trouble and had the audacity to kill the Matriarch’s Martial Arts Master and Attendant Father right in front of her! Now, he was showing such a nonchalant attitude in front of her!

Though her anger smoldered internally, she forcibly suppressed her flames of wrath.

”The Matriarch has a mission for you, male. You’d better complete it, or you know the consequences!”

Facing the Dark Elf Priest’s threat, Fang Zheng just shrugged, and the priest said no more, turning on her heels and striding out.

”Follow me!”

Fang Zheng followed the Dark Elf Priest to the square of the First Family, where the Dark Elf army was already fully armed and ready to set out. Aside from some Dark Elf warriors and about a dozen priests, the rest were mainly trolls, orcs, and gray dwarfs. These were slaves to the Dark Elf Clan, destined to be used as expendables; for them, this was their only fate.

”Depart!!”

Matriarch Coresa was not among them; instead, another Dark Elf Priest led the team. Fang Zheng recalled she seemed to be one of the Matriarch’s daughters, though there was no time for such thoughts. With an order, the contingent of five to six hundred Dark Elves moved silently away from the stalactite columns of the First Family, heading down the street.

No one informed Fang Zheng of the target this time, nor did he care. Future Sight had not signaled any warnings, indicating it was likely not dangerous. However, he was curious about the grand mobilization of the First Family.

If it were another family, given the Dark Elves’ style, they might strike a family ranked higher. But the First Family was already the top ranking family in this city, so they had no reason to attack others. In that case, what were the Dark Elves trying to do?

With curiosity in his mind, Fang Zheng continued to follow the troop, maintaining contact with Little Hei via his personal terminal, confirming everything was fine on that side.

In the pitch-black underground, time had no meaning. After an indeterminate amount of walking and passing through one tunnel after another, they arrived at what appeared to be an abandoned underground ruin.

This was a city with a simple and straightforward style, neither resembling a human nor a dwarf or elf residence. Judging by the size of the towering buildings, this city might have housed beings over two meters tall. The city’s style was simple and direct, somewhat reminiscent of the cities from Fang Zheng’s world.

It felt like a twentieth-century transmigrator traveled back to ancient times and, out of nostalgia, roughly cobbled together a city model with stones.

However, due to long-term geological disasters, half the city was now submerged, and more importantly, it had become another race’s gathering place.

Naga.

These half-snake, half-human creatures held long tridents, swimming freely in the water. Meanwhile, across the partially collapsed city ruins, strong Naga Guardians stood vigilantly, scanning their surroundings.

”Human, these Naga are our target.”

At this moment, the Matriarch’s daughter approached, issuing orders to Fang Zheng.

”We expect great results from you.”

”No problem, but... may I ask what our goal is?”

Fang Zheng’s curiosity piqued; after all, the Dark Elves were not an expansionist race. Unlike humans, they had no interest in doubling their territory. So, to Fang Zheng, it was puzzling why the first family in a Dark Elf city would send its military power to attack a long-lost city now occupied by the Naga.

”It’s Matriarch Coresa’s order. You need not know anything more!”

”Alright, I was just curious.”

Fang Zheng shrugged again, glancing at the Dark Elf warrior beside him.

”Alright, attack. Take care of what you can, and I’ll handle the rest if it’s beyond you.”

For Fang Zheng, he didn’t need to do much; the command of Dark Elf battles had always been in female hands. Although Fang Zheng held the title of Martial Arts Master of the First Family, the position was not for commanding troops but mainly for assassinating critical targets and training other Dark Elf warriors.

Clearly, the Dark Elves had their own set of training and combat doctrines. After receiving Fang Zheng’s order, the Dark Elf warrior did not leave immediately. Instead, she looked toward the priest beside Fang Zheng. Upon receiving confirmation, she saluted and ran off.

”Remember, male, do not disappoint Matriarch Coresa.”

Gazing meaningfully at Fang Zheng, the Dark Elf Priest then turned away. Fang Zheng merely curled his lips, looking ahead and letting out a yawn.

”Well, let’s get started.”
