Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 1088: Chapter 654: Monster Quasi-God

”So without further ado, my first Pokémon... is it!”

Genji took the lead and threw his Pokeball forward.

Bang!

The red and white sphere opened, and a beam of light fell onto the ground.

”Tomo!”

The ultra-large volleyball spirit Shelgon, with its spherical body and short limbs like support pillars, eyes positioned at the front, and a particularly fierce look, appeared.

Don’t be fooled by its lack of final evolution; it is actually Genji’s main Pokémon.

Its movement speed may be slow, but its reactions are very swift. The double defense honed over many years is astonishing, and its attacks are equally fierce.

During the Advanced Generation, it faced Pikachu’s Hundred Thousand Volts with an unchanged expression, then decisively defeated Pikachu with a combo of Dragon Breath and Dragon Claw.

Even Xiaogang, with his extensive battle theories, was left dumbfounded.

With Ash Ketchum’s prior experience as a precedent.

Baimu naturally wouldn’t underestimate the seemingly round Shelgon and sent out the pre-selected lead Pokémon.

”It’s up to you!”

”...Waddles.”

Dragapult popped its head out, feeling the gazes around and the mixed scent of Dragon-type Pokémon in the air, it uneasily flicked its tail.

However, the Dreepy siblings in its launch tubes were quite excited, more accustomed to the current environment than it was.

Had it not been about to battle, these two overly wild beings might even want to run out and play games with other Dragon-type Pokémon.

”It’s Dragapult! Baimu has used it in the tournament!”

”Such tremendous momentum, I can sense that it has experienced loneliness due to its strength...”

”Can Brother Baimu beat Heavenly King Genji?”

”Ridiculous! He’s favored by the black Rayquaza as a Dragon Tamer!”

The Meteor People watching eagerly sided with Baimu, exchanging whispers among themselves.

At the edge of the field.

Zheng Fang, who volunteered to act as referee, waved his hand vigorously.

”The battle begins!”

”Lord Baimu, bring it on.” Genji’s hands were tucked in his coat pockets, his voice low and authoritative, as he sharply looked at the Dragapult, who didn’t dare to meet his gaze and broke into a cold sweat.

The social dinosaur found itself for the first time facing a human staring straight down at it, always feeling like its human opponent seemed displeased with it, and quickly disappeared from its position.

It suspected it had inadvertently annoyed this elderly human.

”Dragon Dance!”

The trainer’s command interrupted Dragapult’s wild thoughts, and after vanishing for only two seconds, it resurfaced. A crimson, mist-like light ring shimmered as it spun.

Seeing this, Genji commanded deeply, ”Shelgon, Scary Face!”

”Tomo!”

Shelgon’s ferocious eyes widened, with a jet-black energy rising from its body, transforming into an exceptionally menacing ghostly face, startling the Dreepy siblings.

Dragapult was similarly startled by the ghostly face, but frankly, it found the human elder who stared at it more terrifying.

Following the Dragon Dance, it hurriedly entered invisibility again.

Genji’s gaze shifted slightly but quickly returned to calm.

Finding itself no longer under direct observation, Dragapult quietly exhaled, glancing at its trainer who was full of concern.

[Scary Face] did not have any effect.

Because it has the [Ever-Pure Body] trait, its abilities cannot be decreased by the moves of opponents or allies.

Even if Scary Face had succeeded, its impact would have been minor.

As is well known,

The animation’s change in ability from transformation techniques differs dramatically from the game’s fixed percentage; simultaneously, the techniques are influenced by various factors such as proficiency and the state of the technique releaser, causing significant variation.

From a practical perspective, after Dragon Dance’s increase and Scary Face’s decrease, it’s unlikely to cause its speed to sharply reduce by a third.

Understanding Baimu’s gaze, Dragapult stealthily flew above Shelgon’s head to avoid being directly in front of it.

It realized the specific physiological structure of Shelgon’s eyes makes it difficult to see opponents immediately in the vertical and horizontal directions and behind.

Therefore, it didn’t need to fly behind Shelgon; even if it’s only above or to the sides, there exists a large blind spot.

At that time,

The key factor in whether Shelgon falls prey would be Genji’s response.

”Dragon’s Pulse!”

”Waddles!”

Without hesitation, Dragapult quickly appeared and raised its head to brew a bright dragon flame of azure and crimson, unleashing it at Shelgon below!

Whoosh!

The dragon flame transformed into a savage energy dragon head, roaring with a wide-open maw!

At the critical moment,

Genji, expression unchanged, ordered, ”Dodge!”

Shelgon had already a step ahead of the command, rolling forward using its spherical body, successfully evading the incoming Dragon’s Pulse.

Bang!

The energy slammed into the ground and exploded, raising a cloud of dust.

But more astonishing than Shelgon’s thrilling evasion was the seemingly synchronized thoughts between it and Genji.

Dragapult was surprised, Baimu frowned and then relaxed.

A Heavenly King isn’t an ordinary trainer; they are selected through a recommendation system, yet every one of them stands at the pinnacle of the region.

Not to mention that they are all battle-hardened.

Genji, who has been an Alliance member of the Four Heavenly Kings for decades, ranks at the top within them, his gap with the Regional Champion possibly only lies in ”unique” talent.

”Dragon’s Pulse!”

Genji commanded again, clearly not planning to stop.

”Tomo!”

Shelgon quickly halted its rolling motion with its four short claws, its yellow-tinted eyes piercing through the dust as it looked at Dragapult in the air, a multicolored energy from its Dragon Attribute burst forth from its face!
