Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 1083: Chapter 651: In the Name of Teacher (2)

Huh?

Really?

Baimu turned his head in disbelief, astonished that he was actually being understood by Volcanion, that stubborn tsundere.

In the original movie, after going through so much, it never showed verbal concern for any human. It wasn’t out of a sense of entitlement, but because it couldn’t open its mouth.

So it awkwardly brought out the title of ”Nibel Plateau Honorary Pokémon” to express gratitude.

Now it’s actually...

Volcanion felt offended by the gaze from this human in front of him and grumbled discontentedly, ”Why are you looking at me like that! Be careful or I’ll knock you out!”

”Calm down, I’m just not used to you being so polite.”

Baimu grinned, sat down next to it, and teased, ”Honestly, if your voice wasn’t so rough, I would’ve thought Magearna was speaking.”

”You—”

Volcanion was so furious that steam puffed from the appendages on its back, but seeing Magearna watching them, it reluctantly gave up the idea of teaching the human a lesson, sighed, and lowered its head to eat the food in front of it.

After only a few bites.

It spoke in its muffled voice, ”Anyway, you guys returning to Nibel Plateau to play with everyone, and making so much food, deserves gratitude.”

Although Volcanion couldn’t provide an answer yesterday while at the hot spring, it understood Baimu came largely because he cared about the current state of Nibel Plateau.

The proposals he made weren’t just idle talk.

”No need to be so polite; after all, I’m also an honorary Pokémon. Besides, making food for people and Pokémon is a hobby of mine. Hearing others praise my food brings me spiritual joy.”

Baimu said nonchalantly.

Volcanion glanced at him, feeling increasingly that this human was unusual.

But perhaps it was precisely this peculiarity that gave him qualities completely different from most humans.

”Stay a few more days.”

It took a deep breath and said words it couldn’t imagine in the past, ”Magearna... and everyone really likes you guys; the Plateau hasn’t been this lively in a long time.”

It took a great deal of courage.

Baimu was equally surprised to hear Volcanion’s plea for him to stay, especially since Ash Ketchum never got such treatment and was sent away without a second thought.

”Though I enjoy it too, I can’t.” He smiled softly at the tsundere giant Phantom Beast, ”There are other places I need to visit, and once it all ends, I can go home...”

”Home?”

”Yeah, the place I told you about — Pyrite Town in the Ore Region. I’ve been traveling for so long, it’s time I went back.”

Baimu squinted his eyes, the familiar warm breeze seemed to brush his ears, occasionally with tiny sand grains grazing his face.

”...”

Volcanion watched his expression, suddenly curious about what Ore really was like.

Unfortunately, this meant it really couldn’t ask him to stay longer.

It buried its head in the food that emitted a gentle glow, feeling a rush of unknown sadness or melancholy in its heart.

Volcanion didn’t realize it was the sorrow of soon parting with a friend.

After the meal.

Baimu quietly informed Magearna that he and Aggron, along with other Pokémon, were preparing to leave. He had intended to keep it a secret from the other Plateau Pokémon, but they found out anyway.

Compared to the last time when Ash Ketchum and the others left, and they happily said their goodbyes...

This time almost all the Pokémon showed reluctance. Through the previous farewell, they understood how rare reuniting could be.

But to offer their blessings to Baimu and Aggron for continuing their journey.

The Plateau Pokémon escorted them all the way to the edge of the Flower Field, and with a very human-like gesture, waved them goodbye.

”Roar!”

”Meow!”

”Boom!”

”Chirp!”

The rising calls were like departure salutes, still echoing in their ears even after the figures were no longer visible, as if engraved in their hearts.

However.

A single farewell is never enough.

——

Glazed City.

Baimu’s figure appeared suddenly in a corner of an alley, startling two Wingulls perched on a lamp post into flapping their wings and flying away.

”Thanks for everything these past days, Hoopa.”

”I had lots of fun too! Goodbye, Xiaobai~ Be sure to come find me again! I’ll miss you and Gengar!”

Hoopa gleefully waved goodbye from within the Light Wheel.

It wasn’t worried about not seeing each other again because even if Baimu was too busy to visit, Hoopa could always find him!

Distance was never a problem for it.

The Light Wheel gradually disappeared.

Baimu exhaled a breath of relief, looked around to find his bearings, and put on his baseball cap and sunglasses as he headed towards the Glazed Gym.

The second-to-last stop before going home.

The conference ended.

A new year was about to begin.

If he didn’t visit the Gym to see Mikoli now, he’d have to wait until the end of the year to meet him again. This guy was extremely busy, being both the Master of the Gorgeous Competition and a Gym Leader, busier than an average Champion.

Unexpectedly, when Baimu stepped into the Gym, the old butler informed him that all three generations of the Glazed Gym were absent.

”The old master has gone to the Galar Region for a tour, Master Mikoli has been called away by the conference bureau for a meeting, and Miss Liuqia is getting ready for a Mauville TV Station show...”

Goodness, it’s just the beginning of the year, and they’re already so busy!

He sighed in frustration, never expecting to make a wasted trip.

Suddenly.

The old butler handed over a letter.

”Young Master Baimu, the old master instructed me to give you this.”

”Thank you...”

Baimu froze for a moment, and after the old butler bowed slightly and left, he opened the envelope to read.

The first thing he saw was elegant and ornate penmanship.

The content was sparse, but it recounted Adam’s feelings while teaching him techniques for the Gorgeous Competition, Milotic breeding methods, and Trainer knowledge.

From the surprise of meeting him to the regret of discovering it too late.

From the helplessness of being unable to pass on his knowledge to the pride of witnessing his student’s brilliance.

The Adam in the letter was drastically different from the usually elegant and composed gentleman, maintaining a dignified demeanor at all times, instead expressing a myriad of complex emotions.

Inner turmoil vividly depicted on paper, as if whispered in conversation.

The words were filled with expectations for his future, confident that he would overcome all challenges to become who he wanted to be.

Unquestionably.

The writer was not Adam, the legendary figure in the Gorgeous Competition scene, but a teacher with a student of great ambition before him.

The letter was heavy, and burning hot.

Baimu looked at Adam’s signature in the bottom right corner, his breathing shaken for a moment, almost wanting to stay here to inherit the historical Glazed Gym.

But alas, he had already made an important promise with someone else.

”...”

He remained silent for a long time, used hand signals to call out Gengar, found a small wooden box to store the letter, and then took out paper and pen to write a reply after some thought.

Upon arriving in Hoenn... or rather, in this world, he had sought answers from countless people through various platforms.

The social status of these people varied, but what remained unchanged was their willingness to patiently help him no matter what questions he asked.

Like Xiaogang, who didn’t hesitate to spend his rest time teaching him how to breed Steelix.

Among these mentors, Adam and Mikoli’s guidance lasted the longest, spanning a full three months, with a timeline covering the Mikoli Club, the Gorgeous Grand Festival, and the Ever Grande Conference.

In those three months.

They used most of their personal time to teach him everything they could.

Their guidance and teaching were such that Baimu didn’t know how to repay them, nor how to adequately express his gratitude when penning a reply.

Words fell short of emotions.

In the end, he couldn’t write much, for no amount of gratitude would ever be enough.

But Baimu knew, besides becoming the Ore Champion and World Champion, he now had an additional mission, and could even call it a calling.

He wanted to become a teacher.

To pass on the knowledge he learned, just like everyone who taught him, to those who, for various reasons, couldn’t display their talents.

Only then could he live up to those who educated him.

Baimu put the letter in the envelope, asked the old butler to give it to his teacher, Adam, and then sent a similar message to Mikoli via line.

A few minutes later.

Buzz buzz.

He received a reply, containing only two words —

”Elegant!”
