Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 1070: Chapter 645: Simulator Update_2

At this moment, Hoopa suddenly appeared in the middle, giggling mischievously before summoning a big splash of water on the two of them, ”Kepu! Pete! Calm down!”

Whoosh—

The two boys subjected to physical cooling were utterly defeated.

”Hoopa... you really...”

They had been playing with Hoopa since childhood, being teased more than once or twice, so they weren’t angry, just at a loss for words.

Meanwhile.

Led by Grings and Balza, Baimu arrived at their home.

The interior was as always in the standard French Mediterranean style, with carpets and tablecloths filled with intricate patterns, and walls dominated by azure and pure white.

Though there seemed to be few windows from the outside, the interior was surprisingly well-lit.

He was seated on a cushion, facing Grings who was still smiling.

At the same time.

A pink-colored Aromatisse brought a bright silver teapot and teacup.

”Fuwa~”

”Leave it to me.”

Balza took it over, pouring a cup of strangely fragrant strong tea.

”Thank you, but aren’t you going to catch up with your long-lost companions?”

Baimu took a sip, feeling a fleeting bitterness followed by a delightful sweetness, with a wondrous fragrance lingering in his mouth.

He smiled and said, ”It won’t take long, how’s the specialty flower tea here?”

”Not bad.”

Baimu complimented, shifting his gaze to Grings opposite him, and asked softly, ”I’m not someone who likes to beat around the bush, so forgive me for being straightforward, why did you invite me over?”

”Hahaha, no need to be nervous, child.”

Grings savored the strong tea, his eyes narrowed to slits in the steamy mist, ”I’m just helping to pass on a message.”

”A message?”

”Yes.” The white-bearded old man nodded, asking in a magnetic voice, ”’Are you happy?’”

’Are you happy?’

Baimu understood, this was the message Grings was entrusted to convey.

And the one who asked him to convey it... undoubtedly apart from Arceus, who had clones across the Multiverse watching over everyone and Pokémon, there was hardly a second possibility.

He decisively said, ”Very happy, I cherish and am very satisfied with my current life,”

Although life in the Ore Region initially left him breathless, after the Liberation War, everything changed.

His beautiful visions of the Pokémon World were all realized during this half-year journey.

”That’s good.”

Grings maintained his smile but didn’t speak again.

Baimu, not hearing the next word for a while, was slightly stunned, ”Nothing else?”

”That’s it, only that message to convey.”

Grings shook his head, sipped the aromatic tea again before getting up, ”I’ve got to step away for a moment, you young people should chat more. Don’t be restrained, consider this place your own home.”

Baimu remained indifferent, thinking that Arceus just had him come over to say hello...

No.

Was it to update the Simulator?

He suddenly realized that everything about him was within Arceus’s expectations, including him only coming to the Valley of Creation after winning the championship.

Hiss.

Feeling a bit mystical, but not too bad.

Baimu thought of Mingyao or Xiaozhao, who were similarly arranged by Arceus to travel to the Shicui Region.

One of these two, after resolving the time-space rift in the Shicui Region, passed Arceus’s test with treasures provided by the Arceus mobile, eventually gaining Arceus’s favor, with a Clone accompanying them.

Do I have this opportunity?

He pondered whether he might have the capability to defeat the Arceus from the animated version—

Without technology, it’s basically impossible.

Speaking of Pokémon battles, the powers of first-level gods and large Phantom Beasts are transcendent, with only a few second-level gods and medium or small-sized Phantom Beasts able to defeat and capture them.

What a pity.

He sighed inwardly, then self-mockingly thought he was dreaming too beautifully, having a Simulator was already an enormous fortune.

Balza was listening to their conversation but was at a loss as to who had Grings convey a message on their behalf to Baimu.

They shouldn’t have met before, right?

Suddenly.

Noises came from outside the door.

It was Hoopa and Mei Yali who had returned, along with several other young people.

As soon as they entered, they inquired about Grings’s whereabouts and then surrounded Baimu with excitement, engaging him in conversation.

Once again, he experienced the widespread nature of his fame, responding with a smile and accepting a battle invitation.

Curious to see if the powers of the people in the Valley of Creation could be applied to battles.

Hoopa drank two sips of flower tea and began clamoring for donuts, and Mei Yali, unable to refuse, went out to buy some, while the others followed suit.

Initially, Balza didn’t want to go, but was taken away by his two childhood friends.

The house was suddenly left with Baimu and the returning Grings.

Seeing no one around, he boldly asked, ”Did you just contact Arceus?”

”That’s correct.”

Grings surprisingly confirmed this answer, smiling lightly, ”Our clan, since ancient times, has had the ability to communicate with Arceus, though it mostly slumbers peacefully outside the world.”

”Fortunately, over the past two years, due to an unknown influence, Arceus awakened from its slumber. So having me help was a matter of a few days ago.”

”Did it... have any response?”

”None — child, don’t worry, this is not an inquiry, it already heard you when you spoke.”

”Then why did you?”

”Hearing is one thing, entrusting a task is another.” Grings sat down slowly.

Baimu, hearing this, could only give up on using Grings as a bridge to communicate with Arceus, responding, ”Understood.”

He was very curious about Grings and the power he possessed, thus actively stirring up the conversation.

Grings candidly stated that although this power’s origin indeed came from Arceus, it also needed them to continuously resonate with nature.

It can’t be fully understood just by words.

As for the abilities Baimu intentionally mentioned, like Dragon’s Heart and Divine Heart, Grings also said that this world is vast, and he is just an elderly man, far from uncovering all the mysteries of the world.

”All I can say is that this heart-based power differs for each person and each Pokémon due to their different internals. It’s like how every one of us looks the same yet different.”

Grings spoke softly.

Individual differences...

Baimu silently pondered, unsure how to comment.

So he changed the topic, ”Since I met Hoopa, I’ve frequently asked it to help me travel globally, but not every time I’ve had a legitimate reason. Will relying on it freely cause Hoopa to repeat the same mistakes in the future?”

Most times he’s had legitimate reasons to approach Hoopa, but occasionally he would seek its help for personal matters.

The recent conversation with the Zeroth Machine also made Baimu realize that he might have tendencies to overuse Hoopa’s abilities, so he sought answers from Grings.

”Before answering this question, I have one for you.”

Grings asked, ”What do you think is the meaning of chastisement?”

Baimu responded, ”Not excessively using the power of the Light Wheel?”

The elder nodded and then shook his head, saying, ”Yes, and no. I sealed Hoopa’s power because, on the one hand, it used the Light Wheel recklessly, taking whatever it wanted, treating everything as if it could be acquired just because it desired it.”

”On the other hand, it treated the Light Wheel as the whole world, and while the Light Wheel seemed to connect everywhere, it narrowed its vision, making it easily manipulated by malevolent individuals.”

Grings continued softly, ”If the problem lay solely in the Light Wheel, I could have completely sealed its power. But the real issue lay within Hoopa; it’s a child who cannot distinguish between good and evil or truth and falsehood. Restricting its destructive power, preventing it from acting recklessly is beneficial for its inner growth.”

Baimu: ”So...”

Grings smiled peacefully, ”Power is just power; for Hoopa, using the Light Wheel for you is merely an act of goodwill. What talk is there of repeating the same mistakes?”

”But whether you will be affected depends on yourself. Don’t forget that the Light Wheel is vast yet small, gain necessitates loss; these matters need to be deliberated by you.”

He nodded with some understanding.

Beep.

A light sound came to his ear, indicating the Simulator update had finished.

On the selection screen, a new ”Exchange” function suddenly appeared.

Baimu was momentarily stunned, glanced at Grings comfortably stroking Aromatisse, and naturally raised his hand to open the function.

He suddenly saw three lines of small characters displayed above.

[Technique Exchange], [Level Exchange], [Ability Exchange].
