Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 1073: Chapter 647: Cursed Body

”Lutong...”

The limp Hippowdon howled as it collapsed, causing the ground to tremble slightly and kicking up irritating dust.

Very quickly.

The sandstorm enveloping the field also slowly dissipated.

Onlookers watched as the Galarian Corsola rolled out from Hippowdon’s mouth, offering continuous praise and applause.

Children’s eyes were full of admiration for Baimu.

”That was so cool!”

”Pokémon battles are actually so simple? With a couple of swipes you took down the Hippowdon, even though the sandstorm was so formidable!”

”Fool, do you know about attribute restraint? That’s basic knowledge! Ultimate Absorption is a Grass Attribute, Hippowdon is a Ground Attribute, obviously it couldn’t withstand it!”

Their discussion was extremely lively.

As the largest competitive sport in the Pokémon World, from eighty-year-old seniors to five-year-old children, anyone could be a battle enthusiast.

The residents of the Valley of Creation were no exception.

Pete covered his head with his hands, shouting out in frustration:

”How did this happen! If only I—”

With hindsight, he thought he should have used Frozen Fang instead and continued using Flame Fang, but unfortunately, he couldn’t turn back time.

Kepu patted Pete’s shoulder reassuringly, saying: ”Relax, I also lost easily to him, remember?”

”Hey...”

Pete sighed as he recalled Hippowdon.

In the field.

The quiet Corsola’s sullen face showed a hint of anticipation, as its third opponent was about to appear, meaning it could finally clock out... no, take a break from the match!

The opponents being so weak was truly a surprise!

Bring it on!

It moved its gaze towards Balza, who was being playfully nudged by Mei Yali and Hoopa, if it guessed correctly, he was the trainer of the third opponent.

Suddenly.

Baimu walked over to Balza.

Though he hadn’t held high expectations for Kepu and Pete, actually battling them revealed their skill levels were even lower than he imagined.

If Trevenant and Hippowdon were their strongest Pokémon...

They might struggle to even gather badges!

Balza once mentioned he was in the top sixteen at the Lumiose Conference a few seasons ago, his strength should be notably better.

Of course, the strength itself wasn’t the main issue.

”Balza!”

He called out to Balza, who was heading towards the opposite trainer’s seat, asking: ”Have you ever utilized your own strength in Pokémon battles?”

After waiting for both individuals without seeing the expected scene, Baimu just asked directly.

”Utilize strength?”

Balza was momentarily stunned, responding: ”I haven’t done so, and isn’t that against the rules?”

Others crowded around upon hearing and chimed in:

”Yeah! How can you interfere with the opponent’s Pokémon!”

”Cheating is disgraceful!”

”Power should be used for the right things, that’s what Grings taught us!”

Baimu was troubled by the noise, pressing his palms down to signal for quiet, he said: ”Can’t you apply your abilities to your own Pokémon? Like enhancing your Pokémon’s techniques, communicating with it internally, not necessarily attacking others, right?”

In his view, the special abilities the Valley of Creation people possessed were like the Wave Guide, without fixed applications.

Such as repairing the Vase of Punishment, accelerating seed growth, or helping Hoopa escape the Vase’s Binding, all had been demonstrated, and were extremely versatile.

The crowd looked at each other.

Clearly, Baimu’s words exceeded their usual thought process, as they, under Grings’ teachings, never considered using their powers to interfere in Pokémon battles.

”Well...”

”Are such actions allowed in battle rules?”

”Our powers are external interference factors, right?”

Faced with hesitant, confused expressions, he took out the Key Stone and said:

”Speaking of external interference, isn’t Super Evolution one of them? Take superpowers that communicate with the heart, those rare and magical special items... And even more so, Ai Li in the Ever Grande Conference finals against me, who used her special abilities.

”As long as it’s a unilateral influence on one’s own Pokémon, it’s generally within permissible limits. If not, the organizers would inform us.”

But the organizers tend to be quite lenient with contestants possessing special abilities, as long as they don’t deliberately affect the opponent’s Pokémon, usage is usually allowed.

Balza was silent a few seconds before speaking: ”We can talk about this topic after the battle ends.”

He was too eager to battle with Baimu, and now was bursting with anticipation.

Seeing this, the latter nodded and said: ”Since there’s no precedent for using it, let’s set it aside for now. Of course, if you want to use it during our battle, I personally fully support it.”

Balza shook his head, laughing:

”No! Trainer’s skill stays with the trainer!”

He was determined to have a ”pure” match.

Thus.

Both sides took their positions again.

”Go Balza!”

Hoopa excitedly waved its arms, with the two Golden Rings on its horns spinning along.

Mei Yali and Luca couldn’t hold back their cheers either:

”Brother! Go for it!”

”Balza! Don’t lose to him!”

Though they admired Baimu’s performances in the Gorgeous Competition, undoubtedly family and childhood friends were closer.

Only Kepu and Pete, Balza’s pals, stood behind him, discussing how many rounds he would lose, and jokingly shouted:

”Don’t lose too badly, Balza!”

”Yeah, yeah! You are the strongest young trainer in Valley of Creation!”

Balza absorbed these words with a bit of helplessness, but his fighting spirit surged along with them.
