System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

Right now, Lu Cheng has unexpectedly reconstructed the local microcirculation.

Every man knows the principle that the path of seeing red is the beginning of the lifeline...

Thus, this limb preservation surgery, for the damaged limb, was completed silently.

The first of its kind at the State People’s Hospital was quietly achieved by this handsome young man, Lu Cheng.

Before Wu Xiang could speak, Lu Cheng began to suggest: ”Director Wu, I think, given the current situation, the patient’s distal blood flow is still viable, but the skin defect is severe, so we should temporarily leave it open for now.”

”In the second stage, depending on the recovery situation, we can consider whether to perform skin flap transplantation or functional reconstruction.”

”My suggestion is to transfer her to the hand surgery department, because our ER ward doesn’t have the capability to care for such delicate wounds.”

Upon hearing this, Wu Xiang finally nodded and announced, ”Young lady, did you hear that? You probably won’t need amputation. We’ve helped you through the first hurdle.”

”But in the future, the function of this foot may not be as good.”

The woman had long lost all hope, even considering if she might die, as the surgery was taking so long.

Suddenly, upon hearing Wu Xiang say this, her mind went blank: ”Huh?”

”Yes, having something is better than having nothing.”

”Cover it up and go; it’s better than having it amputated.” Wu Xiang replied calmly.

”Thank you, Director Wu, thank you doctors, thank you all.”

”Mm, mm, mm... thank you.” The woman’s voice was hoarse, and her sobbing sounded pitiful.

Of course, she also felt a sense of calm relief.

People only learn to cherish when they face the prospect of loss.

Previously, if someone had asked her whether her foot was okay, she would only have thought that feet are just for wearing shoes and walking, right?

As long as the shoes look nice and the pants look good, who cares if the foot is nice, right?

But suddenly one day, someone tells you, you need an amputation, your foot is not yours anymore, you will have no foot in the future...

It has to be done, or you will die.

Your mind would definitely be in a mess, buzzing noisily.

And you wouldn’t have much time to ponder, so you can only bear the grievance, digest and face it all within a short time.

Until you start praying, you start pleading, you begin expecting help from God, the deities, the Jade Emperor, or the Buddha.

But most likely, they won’t pay attention to you.

Once amputated, it’s amputated...

You lie on the operating table, lifeless and hopeless, at the mercy of others, without even the autonomy to feel the pain of amputation; the hospital would not let you feel such pain.

Unknowingly, you face, experience, the loss of your organ given by your parents, being removed by someone else.

You can only accept it because you still want to live, at least you still have a life to see the people you want to see, to live your own life...

After preparing yourself mentally, thinking of going out less in the future to avoid troubling your family, accepting that after amputation, you might be despised by your children, in-laws, or divorced by your husband...

When you are planning how to live alone, someone tells you, you don’t need amputation anymore.

It’s just that the foot’s function isn’t optimal.

Is it the foot’s function that isn’t optimal? Maybe the foot isn’t very pretty.

Is it about the foot not looking good?

It’s about being whole as a person.

This sentence, like a celestial sound.

This surprise came too suddenly, leaving her unprepared.

Yet despite this, she didn’t blame the doctors for not following the surgical procedure...

This discreet surprise, carefully prepared by the doctors, was undoubtedly the greatest surprise she had received in over thirty years, second only to the life-giving kindness from her parents.

The woman cried for a while, her voice again hoarse and broken: ”Doctor, thank you, thank you, I didn’t want to be amputated, I really didn’t want to...”

”Hm...you probably don’t need amputation anymore, after our careful debridement, we found a glimmer of hope.”

”No more talk, once this operation is over, we’ll be just in time for dinner.” Wu Xiang interrupted the patient’s thoughts, not wanting her to get overly excited and cause other complications.

Both great joy and great sorrow can cause cardiac emergencies.
