System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

”Teacher Qu, the surgery is done; you can go rest now. I’ll come get you when it’s almost time for dinner.”

”Thank you for your hard work.” After the surgery was over, Lu Cheng had already washed his hands, but Professor Qu Daowen still seemed somewhat dazed.

Lu Cheng assumed Professor Qu was just tired due to his age and lack of rest, typical for the afternoon.

”Dinner? Haven’t we just eaten?” Qu Daowen looked at Lu Cheng.

Lu Cheng dried his hands and replied quickly, ”I meant in the afternoon, Teacher Qu.”

”This surgery didn’t really require your presence, Teacher Qu. I only wanted someone to back me up, so I troubled you to come this time.”

”We should still have dinner together.”

”Oh.” Qu Daowen’s mind was drifting again, and he found it hard to concentrate.

Lu Cheng has an original technique, which can be described as resource integration capability.

Lu Cheng learns laparoscopy quickly, which could be attributed to his high talent. Laparoscopy is a standard medical tool, with countless others who are better at it than Lu Cheng.

How should one describe the fact that Lu Cheng integrates his original technique into laparoscopic operations?

Qu Daowen was constantly pondering this term.

Of course, Qu Daowen was also contemplating what label should be applied to Lu Cheng as a person.

Daring to break surgical contraindications and expand surgical indications requires a mindset willing to defy conventions, a courage to challenge authorities, and exceptional skill and preparation.

”Teacher Qu, I’m going out to talk to the patient’s family.”

”I won’t take you back just yet.” Lu Cheng was still meticulously explaining to Qu Daowen.

Even though the surgery went smoothly and Professor Qu did not perform on stage, Lu Cheng had called him specifically to have someone back him up, just in case of any unforeseen circumstances.

But the value of someone’s presence shouldn’t be underestimated just because they didn’t directly contribute.

Professors and chief physicians at the Provincial People’s Hospital aren’t that cheap...

Qu Daowen snapped back to reality: ”Alright, let’s talk about it again at dinner.”

Qu Daowen’s mind drifted elsewhere again—

If Spleen Preservation Surgery can be expanded, then he can also learn it. If the expansion of Spleen Preservation Surgery can be done via laparoscopic operation, then he should be able to learn it as well.

Provincial People’s Hospital, as a provincial teaching hospital, doesn’t aim to break world problems but seeks to make existing mature operations more refined and minimally invasive, enhancing one’s precision.

A comparison of relatively old surgeries shows that the operations by chief physicians from city-level and provincial-level hospitals are more refined than those of top hospital professors.

Top hospital professors excel in their expansion abilities in treating rare diseases and complex disorders.

...

Lu Cheng did not inquire about Professor Qu’s thoughts. He simply looked at his panel’s rewards.

[Through minimally invasive... gained Skill Points: 4.5!]

It actually exceeded 4.0, indicating that this laparoscopic Spleen Preservation Surgery has surpassed the difficulty range of a Level 3 Surgery.

Lu Cheng had long summarized the Skill Points gained from surgical operations. Level 1 Surgery yields 0-2.0 points, generally less than 1.0.

Level 2 Surgery ranges from 1.0-3.0, generally less than 2.0.

Level 3 Surgery typically ranges from 2.0-4.0, generally less than 4.0.

Now it seems, perhaps Level 3 Surgery’s general yield is between 2.0-7.0.

The more challenging and beneficial the surgery is to the patient, the higher the Skill Points yield, potentially infinitely approaching the average yield of Level 4 Surgery.

It’s very scientific!

Not all Level 2 Surgery difficulties are lower than Level 3; for instance, Tendon Suturing Skill constitutes Level 2 Surgery, while arthoscopic knee joint loose body investigation is Level 3 Surgery.

The former is several times more difficult than the latter, and its Skill Points yield would also be higher than the latter Level 3 Surgery.

A young girl was pushed into the ICU, and outside the operating room, Lu Cheng saw her parents and took off his mask: ”Your daughter is currently out of life-threatening danger and has been moved to the ICU for further observation.”

”When she arrived at the hospital, her condition was already very dangerous, nearing a state of shock!”

The girl’s father, a stern-looking middle-aged man, was angered upon hearing this and, clenching his bones firmly, turned around and slapped his wife: ”I told you, the girl also needs discipline; you only know how to pamper and pamper...”

The middle-aged woman was slapped into disarray, her hairpin falling to the ground, her hair coming loose.

Somewhat hysterically: ”What’s the use of hitting her? Do you understand? She’s in a rebellious phase.”

”Does not hitting work?”

”You should get lost too!~”

”From now on, I’ll take charge of her!~ Let’s see if I can handle her?” The man was very angry.

The woman shook her head, reaching out: ”No, you can’t do this; she’s in a sensitive adolescent phase. You can’t be too violent.”

”Get lost!~” The man gestured as he pushed the woman away again.

”Don’t push her; she might react extremely.” The woman continued approaching.

”Then let her die! I’ll be responsible for buying her coffin!~”

”She’s my daughter; why shouldn’t I set a bottom line for her?”

”Get lost!~ Don’t keep making a scene here.” The man’s tone was very resolute.

The woman became quite fearful and hurried away, clutching her phone, seemingly making calls for support.

Lu Cheng watched this scene quietly, neither speaking nor assisting. After the woman left, Lu Cheng continued with his usual tone: ”Initially, your daughter was set to have her spleen removed under laparoscopy for minimal invasion.”

”But this time, we happened to have a professor here from Provincial People’s Hospital, so Professor Qu and I discussed preserving it minimally invasive.”

”If the operation hadn’t been successful, we would have opted for open surgery; fortunately, luck was on our side.”

The man grabbed at his forehead hard: ”A pampering mother often spoils her child; she’s been indulging her since young, not letting me discipline her.”
