System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

Unbelievable, meaning unimaginable, difficult to understand, beyond self-conception, thus mysterious and profound.

Liang Shuhao wasn’t too bothered that Lu Cheng sent away a few patients with fractures. He was following Professor Huang Jianjun, and Professor Huang truly did not lack a few fracture patients and surgeries.

”Professor Huang always says that my basic skills aren’t good enough, and currently what’s lacking in performing intramedullary nail fixation is the technique of manual reduction. I wonder if I can learn something by following Lu Cheng.” Liang Shuhao squinted, starting to think about how to privately visit Lu Cheng.

Lu Cheng can handle fracture types that even the deputy senior doctors in the department can’t manage with manual reduction.

If I were to master this level of manual reduction, it would certainly be a powerful weapon.

Following Professor Huang Jianjun, one doesn’t have to worry about the patient volume; the focus is more on learning the technique well and taking over some of Professor Huang Jianjun’s ’routine, low-value surgeries.’

...

”Where did these pens come from?” Lu Cheng emerged from the lounge after eating and saw Chen Fang and Zhang Zixu dividing up pens.

”They were given by patients. Nowadays, with short videos being so popular, the second fracture patient you treated came back to buy dozens of pens.”

”We’re flourishing,” Chen Fang smiled happily.

In the hospital, especially in the emergency department, pens always seem to disappear.

The department staff casually take them, as do doctors visiting for consultations.

”Then quickly put them away. It’s best to store them in a cabinet, it could save some expenses.”

”But also, let’s not encourage this trend. Otherwise, we’ll soon become a cost-free wholesaler.”

”It’s making me want to go moonlighting as a pen seller.” Lu Cheng joked while setting the rules.

Chen Fang nodded: ”Okay, Brother Lu, if patients give any more and we aren’t in need, I’ll just have them send back.”

”But if we happen to need them, we can still accept them, right?”

”I’m heading back to wash up, I’ll be back soon.” Lu Cheng said, picking up his backpack.

...

Lu Cheng had told Mu Nanshu in advance that he would be returning, so when Lu Cheng got home, Mu Nanshu had already prepared a meal and was waiting for him.

Of course, Lu Cheng could tell that Mu Nanshu was deliberately practicing with her left hand.

She’s injured her right hand, it’s not very nimble, but the anatomical structure of her left hand is fine.

She has currently managed to develop some proficiency, not as good as with her dominant right hand, but she can handle the most basic everyday activities without a problem.

”Hurry up and eat... After eating, I need to look at some literature and start writing a paper.” Mu Nanshu smiled with her eyes squinting into slits.

Lu Cheng responded somewhat apologetically: ”Why do I feel like ever since I’ve been staying long-term in the department, you’ve been even happier?”

Mu Nanshu glanced around to see no one, holding her bowl of rice: ”When working on a project for so long, writing a paper and submitting it is when you reap the rewards, of course I’m happy.”

”Outsiders can see your research level and abilities reflected in your papers, who has the time to look at your procedures and early-stage work?”

”Without published papers, it’s like you’re nothing.”

”And... taking a break for a while is nice too.” Mu Nanshu said this and quickly shut her mouth.

Lu Cheng waved his hands as he walked out of the kitchen: ”Don’t be shy about it, it’s nothing.”

”If you think wickedly, when you see two people together, you can always think of them as couples dating.”

Mu Nanshu rolled her eyes in disgust, disdaining: ”You’re disgusting.”

”What I mean is, it’s a very normal thing. Like eating and drinking water with you, it’s just a normal need.”

”Don’t you feel that your complexion is better than before?” Lu Cheng sat down next to Mu Nanshu, picking up his bowl of rice.

Mu Nanshu proudly discussed professional knowledge: ”I only know that it can treat menstrual pain, other than that, nothing particularly obvious.”

Most cases of menstrual pain can be treated, unrelated to medication.

”You’re just saying you’re naturally beautiful, and your complexion has always been good, right?”

”Well, that’s indeed the case.” Lu Cheng nodded in agreement.

”Oh, by the way, how have your private discussions with Dai Linfang been going?”

”You’re in gastroenterology, and his previous specialty is basically gastrointestinal surgery. Is there potential in this major path of digestive function reconstruction?”

Mu Nanshu nodded: ”There are too many issues, I don’t know where to start.”

”If we start in this direction, it takes years, maybe ten years of long-term planning, no need to rush.”

Lu Cheng chuckled lightly: ”Dai Linfang says, your research expertise isn’t as ordinary as you make it out to be.”

”If your hand wasn’t hurt, I reckon you could launch many gastroenterology projects.”

Mu Nanshu commented: ”Is there really any ’if’?”

”To say it’s not ordinary, it’s not that amazing. But really, to call it ordinary, those who can steadily graduate from overseas medical schools don’t have such ordinary qualifications, they’re just not outstanding.”

”There are many with better talent than me.”

Her tone was as usual, neither inferior nor proud.

”Finish your meal quickly, after eating, I need to write my paper! There’s still a lot to do.”

Although she’s currently primarily assisting Lu Cheng, she actively finds things to do on her own.

In her view, there are too many research directions she can pursue, and what she needs to find are the directions that match her actual situation, seeking the directions with the most significant returns.

”Alright, I know you’re an independent, intellectual beauty, and still my boss!~” Lu Cheng obediently listened.

After Mu Nanshu went into the room, Lu Cheng went to take a shower.

However, Lu Cheng did not immediately return to the department after his shower. He first transferred videos downloaded on his phone to his iPad. After successfully transferring the first foundational video, Lu Cheng just sat at home and leisurely watched it.

Lu Cheng told Chen Fang he was going home to tidy up, no need to make a show of rushing back immediately.
