System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

Qu Daowen said sincerely, ”I dare not instruct, mutual learning, mutual learning. Dr. Lu, your proposal, centered on Director Xiang’s team at the Xiangya Second Hospital’s emergency department for substantial organ preservation topics, is indeed very impactful.”

”It’s a pity that Director Xiang Dongshan of the Second Hospital never mentioned your identity, otherwise we would have visited to seek guidance long ago.”

”The team at the Second Hospital truly has protected you well, Dr. Lu,” Qu Daowen remarked with emotion.

At this moment, Huang Chunhai raised a question with suspicion, ”Professor Qu? Professor Dong, what’s this about?”

Qu Daowen immediately exclaimed, ”Dean Huang, you might not know, but Dr. Lu is quite renowned in our trauma center and general surgery field.”

”He has innovated a suturing technique specifically for the spleen, with the hope of further expanding the indications for splenic preservation surgery and correcting the guidelines. This will be a focal topic for Xiang Province in the coming years.”

”Even in the national general surgery field, many are paying attention to this matter.”

Upon hearing this, Huang Chunhai felt a jolt in his heart.

TM, it’s all over; the anecdote resurfaces.

Domestic scholars remain obscure within the country but are hailed as outstanding by foreign scholars. The domestic academic circle recognizes the local ’unknowns’ through the international academic circle!

Xiang Kun, with a locked voice, joked, ”Director Huang? Your work is quite impressive!!?”

Within a few minutes, Huang Haibo’s expression changed several times. He wanted to say, ”TM, I’ve only just come here this month, what’s Dr. Lu’s business got to do with me?”

But he couldn’t act on this impulse now.

Huang Haibo immediately bowed his head and apologized, ”Dean Huang, Dean Xiang, it’s my work that’s not meticulous enough. I’ll definitely correct my work attitude in the future.”

Lu Cheng quickly said, ”Dear Deans, esteemed leaders, and professors, why don’t we first sit down?”

”You all stand so seriously that I’m afraid my military stance isn’t up to standard.”

After Lu Cheng changed the topic, Huang Chunhai and Qu Daowen each represented their stance, saying to sit down and talk first, and then they sat down.

Being hospital leadership, Huang Chunhai inevitably had the ability to maintain composure: ”Professor Qu, Dr. Lu is a student eager to learn and seek guidance, who is willing to take responsibility. Since our hospital revisited establishing a trauma center, he requested that experts from higher-level hospitals come to provide guidance.”

”Both the medical conditions and standards in Xiangzhou are relatively average, so in the future, we would appreciate more support and guidance from you two professors.”

Dong Liumeng, upon hearing this, laughed and said, ”Dean Huang, the tag of Dr. Lu being someone who dares to assume responsibility isn’t exactly a secret.”

”There’s quite a renowned tale within.”

Huang Chunhai felt unqualified to be hospital leadership, relying on Dong Liumeng to educate him about Lu Cheng.

Qu Daowen ’oh’d once more.

Lu Cheng had just arrived, and the other staff in the hospital office brought a cup of tea.

Dong Liumeng continued, ”This was told to me by a colleague in hand surgery. Originally, the Tang Method was created by Hua Country’s Professor Tang Jinbo and dominated the tendon suturing field.”

”The year before last, no, it should be three years ago now, Professor Tajima of a neighboring country collaborated with Professor Tsuge, who already had accomplishments in the tendon suturing field, to develop the Tajima Tendon Suturing Technique.”

”After nearly two years of promotion and validation, there’s a promising possibility of replacing the Tang Method, and numerous domestic hand surgery teams have invested efforts for this purpose.”

”As for Japan and our country’s national conditions, there’s no need for much explanation.”

”Even if we can’t be number one globally, competing for first among friendly nations—no one wants to be overshadowed even at mealtime.”

”Professor Tan Zhongyuan from our province’s Xiangya Hospital secretly worked on this matter. However, after years of research, they proposed a tendon suturing technique that only stood on equal footing with the Tajima Suturing Technique.”

”It wasn’t until last year that Professor Zhong Junyun from the Huazhong Union Hospital, led by Professor Xie Xiao’s team in collaboration with Dr. Lu Cheng, developed the ’Suturing Technique’, which managed to uphold our country’s honor in leading the field of tendon suturing techniques.”

”This wasn’t Dr. Lu coming from behind but having taken on the responsibility very early on.”

”Isn’t that taking responsibility?”

To be able to compete for first with Japan, even with poor character, most people would consider him a good man—and what’s more, Lu Cheng hasn’t been exposed for moral failings.

In an instant, Lu Cheng received numerous questioning looks, prompting him to explain, ”Dean Huang, Dean Xiang, these are actually old matters. I hadn’t yet joined our hospital last year, and these projects were carried out by other professors; they were the ones who supported me.”

”Though I’m very grateful for the professors’ teachings, I also don’t dare to casually flaunt their reputation outside.”

”The project’s foundation and communication unit are difficult to change, so there was no report to the hospital leadership to avoid misunderstandings or complications.”

Lu Cheng indeed just arrived, having been here for less than three months.

The project wasn’t initiated yesterday or today, making Lu Cheng’s explanation reasonable.

Huang Chunhai suddenly realized the key point, ”Dr. Lu, even if discussing the project is difficult, you should have come forward sooner to recommend yourself!~”

”Our hospital is in great need of talents like you.”

Huang Chunhai understood Dong Liumeng’s conversation: Lu Cheng’s brilliance isn’t about personal prestige or extraordinary skills but about the astonishing impact of his research output.

Thus, in the research domain, Lu Cheng is well-known throughout the province and even in neighboring provinces!

Yet the group at the State People’s Hospital keeps focusing only on interpersonal relationships, hence the oversight right under their noses.
