Super Gene Hunting Ground

David locked himself in his room, carefully recalling everything about Yang Xiao, especially the battle with Li Kan today.

”Yang Xiao’s situation is quite complex, the most complex I’ve ever seen. The energy required for genetic evolution is more than three times that of a normal person, and his Soul Skill is exceptionally strong. Right, this kid didn’t reveal his Beast Soul today. What is his Beast Soul?”

Beast Soul is a Genetic Evolver’s trump card and secret. Even very close friends would not casually inquire about the strength of others’ Beast Souls.

It’s like asking a man exactly how much money he earns each month, or a woman what her weight is.

One can only observe and judge based on one’s own experience.

National treasures are not easily exposed.

For anyone, the Beast Soul is the national treasure, the assassin’s mace, the thing kept in reserve.

”And how exactly did Yang Xiao complete Genetic Evolution?

Heh, genetic mutation, do you really take me for a child, to believe your words so easily?”

When David said to Yang Xiao that he had seen similar cases to his in ancient texts, he was just making it up on the fly, with the goal of comforting Yang Xiao not to worry about it.

It was just a King Level Evolver, David didn’t take it too seriously, but if because of this Yang Xiao became wary of him, their relationship would be somewhat awkward and uncomfortable in the future.

David is also a broad-minded person, especially after Yang Xiao pointed out the bottleneck in his spiritual power cultivation last time, he had reflected on it seriously and indeed found it to be true.

Since then, his mind became broader. He suddenly discovered that just as Yang Xiao had said, as his heart became more open and modest, his chess improved more obviously, and his spiritual power increased more rapidly.

David suddenly thought of Yang Xiao being buried in the mine for several days.

”Did they find some treasure in the mine? Or did they use some special method on the Purple Origin Crystal Stone?”

David called Luo Meng over.

”Captain Luo, Yang Xiao and they claim to have dug an escape tunnel from the mining pit. What do you think of this matter?”

Luo Meng was stunned and said:

”Station Chief, are you suspecting something?”

”That pool is hundreds of meters away from the mining field. Could they really have dug through it in just a few days?”

Luo Meng laughed:

”Station Chief Dai, you haven’t been down in the mines and may not understand the details. The mine in which Yang Xiao and his group were trapped had already extended beyond the mining field.

The tunnels inside are only about a hundred meters away from the external pool. If you say they dug a hundred meters in five or six days while escaping, it’s not strange. They had more than a dozen people working round the clock continuously; it’s possible.”

”Oh, there’s such a thing, I truly overlooked it.”

David did not rush to conclusions about things he did not understand and after a moment of silence, said:

”Captain Luo, you are in charge of the mining field and interact with Yang Xiao and his group daily. How much do you know about Yang Xiao and his brothers?”

Luo Meng scratched his head, thought for a moment, and said:

”I can’t say I know much. These miners work hard, don’t slack off, and haven’t caused any trouble. It’s pretty good.

As for Yang Xiao, I always feel like I can’t see through him. His Go skills are very high, he had cultivated a Spiritual Power Technique when he was on Earth, and the first two stages of his Genetic Transformation Technique, Body Refinement, and Bone Forging, are well-cultivated.

I thought I had him figured out, but I didn’t expect his performance this time to be a real eye-opener. With his Primary Stage King Level cultivation, he completely defeated Li Kan, who was at the Intermediate Stage King Level.

To be honest, what I admire most is that he dared to kill Li Kan.

Most people wouldn’t dare to do such a thing, even if it were me, I would have shown mercy.”

David nodded,

”You’re right, especially the last point you just made. Him daring to decisively kill Li Kan, indeed greatly exceeded my expectations,”

Such a person is ultimately not an ordinary being. Right now, his Genetic Evolution Level is low, and he is in need of my help, so he doesn’t dare to go against me.

But, I have this premonition that Yang Xiao will eventually become so powerful that he surpasses our expectations, and by then, we may not be able to control him.”

Upon hearing this, Luo Meng chuckled and said:

”Station Chief Dai, how long did it take for you to evolve from King Level to Emperor Level? How many resources?”

”Me? From King Level to Emperor Level, it took a full ten years, and as for resources, it’s countless really, at least several billion Crystal Coins. It was only after my family pooled together all of our resources that they were able to push me forward.

On Witch Star, doesn’t it exhaust a family’s entire resources to nurture a single Emperor Level Evolver?”

As he spoke, Station Chief Dai suddenly had an epiphany, laughed, and said,

”I understand your meaning now.”

Luo Meng smiled faintly,

”Station Chief is wise. You see, with your talent plus the entire family backing you up, it still took ten years to evolve to Emperor Level. I won’t even mention myself—it took a full fifteen years.

What about Yang Xiao?

No matter how good his talent is, without the support of a family, without Evolution resources, how can he evolve?

Furthermore, the resources he needs for Evolution are more than three times that of others. With such a vast amount of Evolution resources, it’s even less likely for him to gather them. So, I think you truly don’t need to fret, just relax and play chess with him, hone your spiritual power, and strive to win the championship of the Purple Origin Star Go competition, haha....”

”Haha...”

”Luo Meng, go ask that mermaid in the pool whether there’s a pit inside the pool. Have the mermaid check whether there is anything unusual in the tunnels.”

”Okay.”

...

Luo Meng arrived at the mining field, came alone to the edge of the pool, and let out a long howl toward the water.

Luo Meng’s voice, carrying the might of Genetic Evolution, was like an invisible Longsword piercing into the water of the pool, splitting the water in the pool in two at a depth of about one meter.

”Mermaid girl, come out, I have something to ask you.”

Luo Meng called out to the pool three times.

At this moment, the mermaid was greedily inhaling water fused with the energy of Purple Origin Crystal Stones inside the mining pit.

After several days of excavation by the golden eels, more than a dozen Purple Origin Crystal Stones the size of thumbs had been unearthed from the mining pit.

The mermaid piled up these Crystal Stones and then laid beside them, continuously sucking in the water around the ore, allowing the energy for Genetic Evolution to enter her body unceasingly.

A large-sized golden eel swiftly swam to the side of the mermaid,

”Master, someone from the nearby mining field is calling for you.”

”Oh? What do they want from me?”

”I don’t know, it seems to be that Captain Luo who’s shouting loudly at the surface of the water, even plunged the Sound Wave Sword into the water, disturbing our peace.”

”Hmph, those detestable people, once this lady breaks through to Emperor Level, I’ll definitely give them a taste of their own medicine. So annoying. You help me watch over this pile of Crystal Stones, don’t let any fish approach here.”

”Yes, don’t worry, Master.”

The mermaid turned and swam toward the cave inside the mining pit, and through the cave into the pool.

After the mermaid left, the golden eel immediately started to greedily ingest the water around the Crystal Ore.

”Wow, the Evolution Energy in this water is so strong, I feel like I’ll soon become a mermaid as well. Then I can marry the mermaid girl and take her home as a wife, hehe.”
