Super Gene Hunting Ground

David actually knelt in front of Yang Xiao, requesting to take Yang Xiao as his master.

Yang Xiao was truly shocked by David.

At this moment, Yang Xiao, other than being surprised, saw David in a new light.

At the very least, David did not disdain himself for being just a slave laborer, daring to kneel and ask to take Yang Xiao as his master, which put him several levels higher than Luo Meng.

As a base station chief, David’s vision was relatively high.

Actually, Yang Xiao still didn’t understand this alien world very well.

In David’s view, Yang Xiao’s Go skills were not inferior to the Go master in the Colonial City of Purple Origin Star. However, if David wanted to take the latter as his master, he had no such qualifications, the other party wouldn’t even deign to take a proper look at David.

Now good fortune had fallen from the sky in the form of Yang Xiao, landing right on David’s head. Could he let it go?

David clearly understood that taking Yang Xiao as a master and merely playing Go with him were two very different things.

If he just played Go with Yang Xiao, he would learn very limited things.

Once he took Yang Xiao as his master, he would indirectly tie Yang Xiao’s social status and interests to his own. As the base station chief, he would assume certain responsibilities for Yang Xiao, and Yang Xiao would inevitably impart deeper and more profound Go skills to him.

Yang Xiao, looking at David kneeling before him, quickly helped him up with both hands, saying:

”Chief David, please get up quickly, you really flatter me too much, how do I deserve to be your master?”

How could David get up now?

Motherfucker, if you don’t agree to become my master, I won’t stand up. I’m determined to snatch up this great deal today.

David made up his mind to use his status as a base station chief against Yang Xiao’s current status as a miner, coercing him to agree to become his master. He believed Yang Xiao needed his help too. But as for requesting mentorship, it was important to give Yang Xiao enough face; otherwise, he might not be willing to teach his most guarded skills.

”Master Yang, I sincerely wish to take you as my master, I hope you won’t disdain me! My aptitude may not be good enough, but I’m very diligent, I will definitely work hard to learn from you. Also, I will arrange a temporary identity card for you from Witch Star, and after three years, I’ll arrange to make it official,”

Yang Xiao was instantly stunned, motherfucker, there was even a concept of a three-year probation period?

Seeing that Yang Xiao hadn’t agreed yet, David continued:

”Additionally, hasn’t your Genetic Evolution Realm not broken through to King Level yet? I can help you solve the problem of King Level Evolution, money is not an issue.”

Yang Xiao’s heart shuddered again, his mouth agape as he looked at David,

His chest hurt with excitement!

On Witch Star, breaking through to the King Level Realm was not a big deal. With David’s current status and wealth, helping Yang Xiao to break through the King Level was naturally not a big problem.

But for Yang Xiao, it was a monumental event!

It was like finding what one has been searching for without even trying. Yang Xiao hadn’t expected that a Go exhibition would help him gain such a great apprentice as a base station chief, also inadvertently solving his problem of being a stateless slave and getting a temporary identity card from Witch Star,

And most importantly, he would be able to quickly break through the King Level Evolution Stage.

How could Yang Xiao not agree?

”Ah, Chief David, you’re really putting me in a position where I have no choice but to agree.”

”So, you’re agreeing?”

David was over the moon with joy. To play a game with the Go master of the Colonial City, he would have to kowtow and present gifts, and yet the master might still ignore him.

So, seizing the moment, David quickly kowtowed three times to Yang Xiao.

”To my esteemed master, your disciple David kneels in respect three times!”

Witch Star was a world that reveres Genetic Evolution Cultivation, and the hierarchical system here was even more rigid than on Earth. Taking a master for learning skills was an even more serious affair.

Having resolved to take Yang Xiao as a master, David naturally did not neglect the proper protocol.

It would seem insincere for Yang Xiao to refuse any further, so he stood dignifiedly before David, accepting his ceremonial pledge as a disciple.

Yang Xiao helped David up, saying very seriously:

”You will be stronger than you can imagine!”

David, taken aback, said:

”That will all be thanks to Master Yang’s benevolence.”

”No, a master can only guide you through the door; cultivation is up to the individual. I will naturally teach you, but the key lies in your own attitude and effort. The moment you dared to kneel and ask me to be your master, the bottleneck in your spiritual power cultivation was already broken through. As long as you work hard, in time, your spiritual power will certainly become increasingly powerful.”

David was extremely happy and personally poured a cup of tea for Yang Xiao.

Yang Xiao nodded, took the teacup, drank a sip, then suddenly remembered something and said:

”My identity is that of a miner from Earth, to put it less nicely, a slave. Will it affect you if you take me as your master?”

David laughed heartily and said:

”Not at all. In the field of Genetic Evolution, those with ability can be teachers, and there’s no issue of losing face.”

”Hmm, right. So, do I still need to go back to the mine to dig?”

”Hehe, of course not. You didn’t have to mine when you were with Luo Meng, let alone now that you’ve become my master?”

”But, those brothers of mine in the mine, alas,”

Yang Xiao paused, hesitating to continue,

David, naturally not a fool, immediately said:

”Master Yang, there are still more than a dozen of your comrades in the mine. I can’t liberate all of them at once. However, I can start by easing their workload, lowering the mining requirements so they just do a bit each day for appearances. Later on, I’ll try to apply for temporary identification for them. Trying to apply for over a dozen identifications at once is beyond my capabilities.”

”Okay, let’s do as you say. I don’t expect you to liberate them right away. They are all my good brothers, and I just hope they are safe. When convenient, apply for their temporary identification in batches. If the base needs temporary workers for any jobs, you can also assign them; after all, mining offers no prospect of advancement.”

Yang Xiao knew when to quit while ahead.

”Alright, rest assured, I can manage this small task. I’ll start by transferring two of them to help out at the base’s logistics department.”

”Then I must thank you.”

”Master Yang, if you keep talking like that, I’ll feel ashamed. Being able to do these little things for my master is the least I can do, but not being able to do more troubles me!”

...

Yang Xiao paid a visit to the mine.

It was David who personally accompanied him.

When the spaceship landed at the mine, and Yang Xiao and David emerged, Captain Luo needed only one glance to realize that something serious was afoot.

David, as the base commander, aside from occasionally inspecting the mine, rarely accompanied someone to the mine like this, unless a higher-up was visiting.

Moreover, from afar, seeing David’s deferential attitude towards Yang Xiao made him feel even more uneasy.

Captain Luo hurried forward to greet him,

”Commander, why are you here personally?”

David replied:

”Captain Luo, from now on, Master Yang is my master. He doesn’t need to work in the mine anymore.”

”Yes!”

Captain Luo replied respectfully, then quickly bowed to Yang Xiao:

”Congratulations, Master Yang!”

Yang Xiao smiled faintly and said:

”Captain Luo is too courteous. I have to thank you for taking care of me all this time. Without you, I wouldn’t have this fate with Commander David.”

”Not at all, being able to learn from you is my fortune.”

Captain Luo found this sentence somewhat awkward. Clearly, Yang Xiao was talking about his own good fortune, yet he was praising him instead. But at this moment, he had to say whatever was required, no matter how against his will.

At this moment, Zhao Benling, Du Tianxing, Gu Beifeng, and others were mining below in the pit. Only a few people responsible for moving rocks on the mining platform saw Yang Xiao, but none dared to rush over, only able to stand from a distance.

Yang Xiao glanced over and said:

”Captain Luo, I’m going down to the pits to greet my brothers.”

”Of course, please go ahead.”

David and Captain Luo clearly understood that Yang Xiao had some private words to share with his comrades.

David stood still, and Captain Luo hesitated for a moment before following, quietly slipping a Black Gold Card into Yang Xiao’s hand.

”Master Yang, there are 25 million Gold Coins on this card, which I won yesterday. You can’t refuse to accept it; that would be looking down on me, Luo.”

Yang Xiao: ”....”

”Ah, Captain Luo, you are much too kind. I really can’t refuse, so thank you very much.”

After completing his mission, Captain Luo felt a weight off his chest and did not follow any further.
