Super Gene Hunting Ground

Yang Xiao and his companions were drinking and singing in the mining shaft, blissfully unaware that danger was slowly approaching.

Forty to fifty wild people, along with five from Ice Wolf Island, quietly entered the mine.

Among the wild people, nearly twenty had Genetic Evolution Levels that had reached the Empire Level Realm, while the rest were at the advanced King Level Realm. The five from Ice Wolf Island were all at the Primary Stage of King Level.

Ah Bao, leading the wild people, followed the songs in the dark of the night and quietly arrived outside the mine shaft.

Ah Bao and his companions were clearly very skilled at how to ambush the mineshaft; with a wave of his hand, two Empire Level wild people surged with golden Defense Light Screens, plunging down towards the mine.

The mine shaft was about a hundred meters deep, and even though the wild people had reached the Empire Level Evolution Stage, they did not dare to jump straight down vertically.

The two wild people employed their Floating Flight Technique, slowly descending towards the bottom of the mine shaft.

Moments later, the two wild people reached the bottom of the shaft,

At this moment, Yang Xiao and the others were still singing over a hundred meters away inside the mining tunnel, completely unaware of the wild people who had entered the pit.

After the two wild people flew to the bottom, they advanced into the tunnel, relying on their Empire Level Defensive Light Shields.

Outside the mine, Ah Bao saw that there were no traps or ambushes set at the bottom of the mine shaft and, with a wave of his hand, sent another two Empire Level wild people down.

Normally, one Empire Level wild person would be enough to deal with over a dozen King Level Evolvers like Yang Xiao.

However, for safety, Ah Bao decided to send out four Empire Level Evolvers at once.

Some time ago during a daytime raid on the mine, over a dozen wild people died, causing the tribal leader Ah Bao great distress.

Cultivating an Empire Level Evolver was no easy feat, and despite the planet’s abundant resources, it still took a considerable amount of time for the Evolution to complete.

Sending only two Empire Level Evolvers to the bottom of the mineshaft at first was to test if there were any ambushes below, so that in case of an ambush, they wouldn’t be wiped out all at once.

Now sending out four wild people was to prevent any unforeseen incidents; who knows if these humans might have some powerful and extraordinary Combat Power?

The two leading Empire Level Evolver wild people did not take it seriously and charged directly into the tunnel, confident that they could easily crush a dozen or so humans at the King Level Evolution Realm.

”Clang clatter clang clatter...”

The wild person in the lead didn’t realize what he had kicked, sending out a series of sounds.

Yang Xiao and the others, drinking and singing, were immediately startled by the noises.

Du Tianxing promptly put out a lamp on the wall of the shaft and whispered,

”Not good, someone’s entered the mine shaft.”

Everyone tensed up and immediately thought of the wild people who attacked the mine; aside from wild people, no one else would enter the mine at this time.

At this moment, they were still over a hundred meters away from the wild people, and the mine tunnel was winding and twisting.

The leading wild person suddenly stopped, and using the faint light from the Defense Light Screen, saw that there were over a dozen round tin cans and cups on the ground.

These were rudimentary alarm systems that Du Tianxing and his companions had made during this period, thrown into the tunnel, naturally producing sounds when kicked.

There was no light in the tunnel, and the wild people, full of confidence, did not pay much attention to these little things on the ground. After all, what difference would an alarm make?

These Earthlings were still just waiting to be slaughtered, weren’t they?

The wild people stopped, realizing that the singing in the tunnel suddenly ceased and knowing they had been discovered. They then laughed loudly and said,

”Earth pigs, come out and meet your deaths, hehe...”

The two wild people deliberately kicked the cans and cups on the ground with force, shielded by their Defensive Light Shields, and confidently strode forward without hesitation.

Yang Xiao and his companions possessed a Universal Language Skill, naturally understanding what the wild people were saying.

Everyone shivered, a chill surging in their hearts.

”What should we do?”

All eyes were directed towards Yang Xiao. Although it was too dark to see his expression, everyone instinctively looked towards where Yang Xiao had just been standing.

Yang Xiao was also very tense, his body trembling slightly. But he knew that now wasn’t the time to be frightened, otherwise, everyone would be doomed.

Taking a deep breath, he forced himself to calm down.

”How’s the escape tunnel coming along?”

”It’s not broken through yet. However, according to the original design, it’s at most just over ten meters from the surface. We dared not keep digging for fear of exposure.”

”There’s no time to think about it. Get into the tunnel and buy some time. As long as we can hold out until daylight, these wild people will naturally leave. Hurry.”

Previously, because Yang Xiao had reminded Du Tianxing and the others on numerous occasions, they had already rehearsed entering the escape tunnel several times. Moreover, based on necessity, they had expanded the space at the beginning of the tunnel, aside from the unenlarged entrance, to facilitate everyone’s quick entry.

At this moment, they could already hear the footsteps of the wild people.

Everyone hurried to the nearby escape route, pushing aside the large rock blocking the entrance and crawled in directly.

A dozen people quickly squeezed into the escape tunnel, and just after they had blocked the entrance with the large rock, the wild people had already begun kicking over food and bowls on the ground, only about thirty meters away from the group.

Most people moved further into the tunnel, leaving only Yang Xiao, Gu Beifeng, and Du Tianxing to block the entrance to the escape tunnel with the rock.

This large rock had been specially cut from the wall of the tunnel according to the shape of the entrance, and now that it fit perfectly, you couldn’t tell it was there without a close examination.

”Hehe, earth pigs, you can’t run away. Come out and meet your doom.”

Two wild people saw the food on the ground and knew that they were just inside eating and singing; now, they guessed the people were probably shivering in fear at the end of the tunnel.

This scene was all too familiar to them, for every time they caught miners inside tunnels, the miners would end up trapped at the end, incapable of running any further, and trembling in fear against the walls.

They enjoyed seeing the fear in their prey; it was a pleasure for them.

The two wild people strode forward confidently, passing directly over the escape tunnel entrance where Yang Xiao and others were hiding.

There was no light inside the tunnel, and the two wild people relied solely on the illumination provided by their Defensive Light Shields; their visibility was not that good.

Two more wild people followed into the tunnel, about a hundred meters behind the first two.

The pair of wild people up front slowly walked and deliberately made terrifying laughter, intentionally slowing their pace as they approached the end of the tunnel.

When they reached the end of the tunnel, the two wild people were completely dumbfounded.

There was no one there; only the stone wall.

”Wakaka, where are they?”

”Wakaka, where are the earth pigs?”

The two wild people were befuddled.

The delighted scene they were expecting, with everyone clinging together shivering in fear, hadn’t materialized.

What’s going on?

Were they haunted?

The two wild people looked at each other, feeling a chill in their hearts.

At this moment, the other two wild people also ran over.

”Eh, where are the miners?”

The four wild people looked at each other.
