Super Gene Hunting Ground

Leia and Lucy both came from Gamma Star, but Leia was a recent arrival.

David originally planned to take her to the Colonial City to present her to a superior.

That superior had always been in charge of contacting the Go master in the Colonial City for David, acting like the agent of a star on Earth, arranging most chess matches that wanted to be played with the master.

Without his contact, it would be difficult for David to even play a single game of chess with the master.

The man had a hobby—he liked beautiful women.

Leia was specifically arranged by David to be bought from the colonial slave market on Witch Star, and she was dressed up and groomed.

He had planned to take Leia to present her as a gift earlier, but unexpectedly received a message that the master was unwell and could not accompany David in chess for the time being.

Now, Yang Xiao appeared out of nowhere, not only excelling in Go but also resolving the bottleneck David had in learning chess. David thought, why not just give Leia to Yang Xiao.

The characteristic of straight men is universal—there are none who do not like beautiful women.

With David’s support at the base, and with a beauty to enjoy, Yang Xiao would probably stay by David’s side for a long time.

That’s what David thought.

After special training, Leia had some grasp of the art of seduction.

Thinking of what her sisters told her, that if she did not complete the task, she might be executed, and seeing Yang Xiao feigning sleep by the side of the bed, she had no choice but to take the initiative.

...

Yang Xiao suddenly became very interested in Gamma Star where Leia was from. Conversations with Lucy could only touch the surface, but this woman by his side should be different.

After some intimate contact, even if Leia was David’s spy, she would likely share some of her true feelings with him.

”Are the people of Gamma Star unable to undergo genetic evolution?”

”Yes, we are all ordinary people, but our Gamma Star’s technology is more advanced, and we have a large number of engineers and technological talents serving Witch Star.”

”Since your technology is advanced, you can’t stop the plundering by the people of Witch Star?”

”Witch Star has not only high technology but also terrifying genetic evolution techniques. These terrifying genetic evolution abilities, to some extent, surpass the power of technology.

And, I heard that hundreds of years ago, after the people of Witch Star took control of our Gamma Star, they controlled all of our high-tech weapons, essentially disarming our equipment. We were defenseless and stood no chance against them.”

”Were you captured?”

”Yes, the people of Gamma Star have no freedom, whether men or women, and can be taken away by the people of Witch Star at any moment. It used to be direct barbaric plundering; they would just grab anyone they saw, even if you were just walking on a major road, you could suddenly be taken away.

Now the people of Witch Star rule over our Gamma Star, and every once in a while, they demand a certain number of slaves from those below to serve on Witch Star. Once we are brought to Witch Star, we are directly sold in the talent market.”

”What was your job before you came here?”

”I was a college student, in my second year.”

Yang Xiao: ”...”

Yang Xiao took another careful look at Leia in front of him. With her dignified and delicate features, she indeed resembled a college student.

The impression of Leia in his heart was immediately enhanced unfavorably.

The next day after getting up, Leia officially became Yang Xiao’s maid, solely responsible for Yang Xiao’s daily life, while Yang Xiao’s main task was to accompany David in chess.

David didn’t dare to ask for too much—two games in the morning, two in the afternoon, and one at night.

Five games a day weren’t a problem for Yang Xiao, but for David, it was pure joy.

Damn it, to play a game of chess with the Go master in the Colonial City, it took about three months to arrange. It was over within an hour each time, with no additional matches possible, and each time it cost more than tens of millions of Crystal Coins, let alone the way he was treated indifferently.

Now it was great; he had a Go master at home to play with as he wished and to take lessons however he liked, and was inwardly elated.

Of course, David was very respectful towards Yang Xiao, after all, he wanted to learn chess from him. More importantly, he needed Yang Xiao as a whetstone to continuously refine his spiritual power.

Spiritual power doesn’t naturally accompany the improvement of chess skills; it requires constant honing, especially when playing against masters.

Like Yang Xiao, whose own chess skills were high, but the time spent refining was little, so his spiritual power was naturally lower.

Out of respect for Yang Xiao, David also showed Leia respect, which surprised her.

Leia was a smart girl; she knew all this was because of Yang Xiao, so she naturally didn’t dare to hope to become his official wife. However, the current situation was a million times better than being given away as an object to someone else, especially since Yang Xiao also treated her with great respect.

That night, the base’s Go selection competition continued, with nine players left. This time, David played alone, letting the other eight contestants battle it out.

Two days later, a champion emerged from the eight contestants and played against David again, only to be defeated by David in less than an hour.

David suddenly realized that his chess skills had indeed improved a lot. It used to take at least an hour to defeat this base squad leader, but this time it took less than an hour.

”It seems that Master Yang’s guidance these past few days has been very effective.”

Feeling delighted, David took Yang Xiao to the Genetic Store the next day.

”Master Yang, I promised to help you with the breakthrough to King Level Genetic Evolution. Looking at your data, all your Four Attributes should be around 65 now. I have eighty million Gold Coins here, which should be sufficient for your Evolution.”

”Eighty million?”

Yang Xiao’s heart skipped a beat. Damn, how could eighty million be enough to complete my Evolution?

Of course, he couldn’t say that out loud.

”Alright, then I thank you, Station Chief Dai.”

It’s customary for a master to address their apprentice by adding ”Xiao” (little) before their surname, but, well, David is nearly a hundred years old, while Yang Xiao is in his twenties, so calling him Little Dai didn’t seem appropriate.

Eventually, just referring to his position, he decided to call him Station Chief Dai.

David laughed and said:

”Master Yang, this is what I should do.”

The two spoke and then went to the Genetic Store together, with Leia following behind.

The Genetic Store and the base were not in a superior-subordinate relationship; they belonged to different systems.

”Mister Gu, hello.”

”Station Chief Dai, hello.”

A middle-aged man stood up from behind the counter.
