The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 437: Chapter 437: Holy Shit, Mr. Avalon Is Here!_1

”Hmph.” Adelle Wafford watched Nathalie’s stubbornness, which was the same as when she first saw her at McKinney No. 1 Middle School, and couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh.

Her face showed displeasure as she leisurely spoke to Derliand Gober, ”Professor Gober, if someone wants to choose the Chinese Medicine department, let them be. Why do you keep stopping them from making that choice? They might think you intend to delay their future! Our Chinese Medicine department enrolls only one student each year. Can your finance department do that? Anyway, our clinical department cannot.”

Her words were not without a mocking tone as she slightly lifted her chin, her face stern, and with a sneering sound said, ”Every year, students flock to our clinical department like a swarm of cattle hair. I wouldn’t dare promise any student that we will only teach her alone!”

Winston Sullivan’s face turned bright red with anger as he glared at her and clenched his teeth, ”Professor Wafford, is there a need for you to speak so unpleasantly?”

Ever since the start of this autonomous recruitment, Adelle had been targeting their Chinese Medicine department at every turn.

In the past, although Adelle did not like the Chinese Medicine department, she dared not to be too excessive because Mr. Avalon was there.

In the past few years, since Mr. Avalon had retired, Adelle’s discrimination against their Chinese Medicine department was almost out in the open. Not giving them ”face” within the school was bad enough, but speaking so rudely in front of students was really too much!

Adelle crossed her arms and did not take him seriously, laughing coldly, ”Have I said a single word wrong to make Mr. Sullivan so angry? Ever since Mr. Avalon retired and stopped taking students, what achievements has your Chinese Medicine department made? If Mr. Avalon were here today, I would say she didn’t make a wrong choice choosing Chinese Medicine. But is Mr. Avalon here now? Even Mr. Avalon doesn’t want to stay in the Chinese Medicine department anymore or take on disciples. Only you are stubbornly here arguing with me.”

Her gaze at Nathalie was sharp as she moderated her tone and raised her voice again, ”Of course, if some students insist that those superstitious theories of Chinese Medicine are useful, I have nothing to say.”

Derliand Gober saw that Nathalie had her mind set on choosing Chinese Medicine, his gaze was no longer as eager as before, and with a cold face, he put down the student’s profile, crossed his hands on the table, and said in a deep voice, ”Nathalie, you need to think carefully.”

”Once you choose Chinese Medicine and step out of this door, you won’t have the chance to regret it. If you say later that you want to choose another department, we won’t want you anymore.”

Are they ever going to be done? Nathalie was annoyed, lifted the corners of her eyes, and was about to speak.

Suddenly, a knocking on the door sounded outside.

An elderly voice came from outside.

”May I come in?”

The classroom door was not closed, and knocking was just a symbolic gesture. Everyone turned their gazes toward the door, and when they clearly saw the person standing outside, Adelle’s face color changed first.

”Mr. Avalon?”

Winston Sullivan, Derliand Gober, and the others did not expect the elder outside to come and stood frozen, not snapping back to reality.

Nathalie also saw the visitor, standing in the same spot, the distinguished old man with eyebrows as white as a crane’s feathers, wearing a suit, his back ramrod straight, his eyes sharp and bright. His kindly gaze coincidentally met hers, and after it seemed he observed her for a moment, he moved his line of sight away, his tone quite amiable, ”Why is nobody speaking? Is it not convenient for me to come in?”

Shawn Norton was the first to react, setting down his insulated mug, standing up from his seat, and striding toward the elderly man, his face showing a mix of surprise and delight. He bumped his shoulder as he approached, seemingly annoyed as he complained, ”You old codger, I called you yesterday to come over and you refused. You said you weren’t coming, so why are you here today?”
