The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 419: Chapter 419: Is Nathalie Going to Show Her Face?_1

Shawn Norton had spent his life advocating for the Konghou and traditional music, so naturally, he didn’t want to miss this opportunity.

However, all those selected this time were young people, and his age and social status didn’t quite fit appearing on the same lens with the younger generation, so he had asked Nathalie Quinlan for help.

Nathalie Quinlan looked at the chat box and saw a new message had appeared.

The other party seemed unsure, asking her hesitantly.

[Lighten Chaser, are you there?]

She sat down, her legs curled beneath her long and straight, wild and roguish in demeanor, leaning back in her chair, her fingers resting on the keyboard, and after two minutes, she typed out a single word.

[Lighten Chaser: Here.]

Instantly the other side replied: [Great, you finally responded to my message.]

[About the meeting I mentioned in the message I just sent you...]

The soft glow of the computer screen enveloped her face, as if coating her in a layer of hazy white light. Nathalie replied to the message quickly, tapping the keyboard a couple of times before responding.

[Lighten Chaser: Just drying my hair.]

[Lighten Chaser: I won’t be in Beijing for long, and the rest of my time is already fully booked, so I probably won’t have time to meet.]

In the senior office of the Beijing TV station, Stephanie Tanzil suddenly leaned back in the leather swivel chair, her well-maintained face showing a weary expression.

She supported her forehead with her hand, a headache apparent as she stared at the chat box on the computer, unsure of how to respond.

She had obtained the contact from Mr. Norton and had heard that it was very difficult to arrange a meeting with Lighten Chaser.

But she didn’t expect to be so straightforwardly refused by the other party.

She had thought that since Mr. Norton had talked to them, they would give her ”face”...

”Mr. Tanzil, I’m coming in.” The assistant entered at that moment, bringing her a cup of coffee, placing it on her desk, and seeing her pained expression, asked softly, ”Mr. Tanzil, hasn’t Lighten Chaser added you yet?”

”He has, but he has refused to meet, claiming he has no time,” said Stephanie Tanzil, irritable at heart, she picked up the coffee cup and took a sip of coffee.

The assistant had made her a mocha with no sugar, and although it was bitter, she usually didn’t mind the taste when she was tired. Today, however, in her bad mood, she found the unsweetened coffee almost too much to drink.

Stephanie Tanzil reluctantly took a sip and put down the cup.

Seeing that she had barely touched the coffee she had asked to be made, the assistant frowned, aware of her distress. Standing there awkwardly, not sure how to comfort her, he said in a low voice, ”Mr. Tanzil, don’t take it too hard. That’s just how Lighten Chaser is. He doesn’t participate in shows or make public appearances, and it’s usually impossible even to get in contact with him. Since he agreed to add you, maybe he really doesn’t have the time...”

The explanation was too far-fetched.

Stephanie Tanzil held the coffee cup but said nothing.

Yet her eyes were filled with urgency.

She had immense respect for Shawn Norton personally and knew that he had always wanted to promote traditional music. With this opportunity at hand, she didn’t want to waste it.

But the harsh reality was different; unlike pop music, where you could easily find a top star in the circle for promotion, traditional music severely lacked recognizable figures.

Shawn Norton had a high status within the circle, but if you asked young people to recognize him on TV, they might not immediately identify the person as the nation’s well-known Konghou master.

If that was the case with Shawn Norton, the situation was even worse for those unknown musicians of traditional music.

What’s the use of having someone unknown participate? The audience won’t acknowledge, recognize, or take an interest!

The only one who met their criteria was a single person — Lighten Chaser!

And yet, that person was intractably willful, acting entirely on whims; if they refused her, what could she do?

As Stephanie Tanzil pondered alternative plans in her mind, the messaging notification ’dinged’ on her computer.

She immediately set down her cup, fully absorbed in the incoming message.

[Lighten Chaser: Can you send over a video instead?]
