The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 414: Chapter 414: Not Recognizing a Single Word_1

Leonardy Zachmann hadn’t expected this delightful surprise; he genuinely cherished his newly found niece and felt genuinely happy for Nathalie Quinlan when he heard the good news.

Once he regained his composure, just like Mr. Zachmann, he couldn’t hide his delight as he said, ”That rascal Audrick always tells me Nathalie’s grades are poor, urging me to think of ways to help her. I believed his nonsense and thought Nathalie’s grades were mediocre. I just heard Caryn mention that she was here to take Tsinghua University’s independent enrollment exam, and I was worried she’d be disappointed. I never expected her to perform so well!”

”Alright, I’ll contact the relatives back home. Everyone nearby Beijing can join us for a meal to celebrate properly! I also need to think about what gift to buy Nathalie to congratulate her. Last time was too rushed; I only gave her a bank card, but this time I want to prepare something special. Dad, what do you think would make a good gift?”

Mr. Zachmann glanced at him sidelong and said, ”How would I know? You figure it out. Nathalie is a girl, after all. Just buy her whatever you usually get for Caryn. They’re both girls who love beauty. If you get her a dress or a handbag, she’ll surely like it.”

Talking about this, he frowned, a mix of concern and tenderness in his expression: ”Ah, it pains me each time I see the photos of Nathalie that Audrick sends. She’s only two years younger than Caryn, and girls her age should be particularly interested in looking their best. Yet, every photo of her is in a T-shirt or hoodie; I’ve never seen her in a pretty dress.”

”Even the colors of her clothes are limited, just black, white, and gray. The brightest color I’ve seen her wear is a dark blue. She’s quite beautiful and would be no less charming than any other girl if she dressed up; she just doesn’t seem to care about it. To put it bluntly, she’s just reluctant to spend the money.”

Leonardy Zachmann pondered for a moment, then pursed his lips and said, ”I’ve been neglectful. I should transfer her some more pocket money.”

Mr. Zachmann stayed silent, his eyes, sharp with the wisdom of the years, glanced at him and shook his head slowly, saying leisurely, ”No need, I’ll transfer it to her. You just focus on preparing a gift. We can hold off on arranging the dinner. I got carried away with excitement and forgot to ask her opinion. I’ll check with her first to see if she’s available. If she has time, we’ll go ahead; if not, we’ll leave it be. We should prioritize her schedule.”

Upon reflection, Leonardy Zachmann realized that Nathalie Quinlan had come to Beijing to take an exam and should be in school during this period. After her exam, she would need to return to school to continue her studies. Whether they would have time for a meal depended on how much leave she had requested from school; if there wasn’t enough time, they wouldn’t be able to fit a meal into her schedule.

”Alright.”

Dressed immaculately in a suit and leather shoes, he wore a blue shirt under his black suit. In his early forties, he looked more like he was in his early thirties. Time had not left many marks on him; instead, it had endowed him with maturity and refinement.

Leonardy Zachmann nodded politely with his trademark gentle charm and said decisively, ”Let’s ask Nathalie first.”

Meanwhile, Nathalie Quinlan had just returned to Amadeus Yancey’s apartment in Beijing, put down her schoolbag, and was taking out the toys she had bought for the child when her phone ’dinged’ with a message.

”Ms. Quinlan, you bought so many toys for the young master?” Alfred Garland, curious to see her laying out item after item on the sofa, came over, bent down to pick up one of the game cartridges, and flipped it over curiously. The purely original text on the game cartridge package was difficult for him to understand; after staring at it for a while, he turned, holding the object, and asked Amadeus, ”Sir, which country’s game is this?”

It wasn’t in English, and he couldn’t recognize a single damn word!
