The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 431: Chapter 431: Gotta Say, That’s a Lot of Courage_1

This girl seemed familiar to him from somewhere.

He couldn’t remember at the moment.

Ghania Quinlan had already walked in from outside and stood in the center of the classroom, politely greeting the surrounding teachers, ”Hello, teachers. My name is Ghania Quinlan, from... McKinney No. 5 Middle School, a senior this year, and I would like to major in the Music Department.”

When she mentioned McKinney No. 5 Middle School, a flicker of humiliation flashed in her eyes.

The only prominent school in McKinney was McKinney No. 1 Middle School. She had been studying there since junior high, but because of Nathalie Quinlan, she was forced to transfer and now could only introduce herself as coming from McKinney No. 5 Middle School—how infuriating.

Fortunately, Nathalie Quinlan didn’t get into Tsinghua University.

Standing in the center of the classroom, Ghania Quinlan felt somewhat better under the gazes from all directions.

Derliand Gober, still beside her, was conscientiously telling Shawn Norton, ”Mr. Norton, I think this student is not bad; her file says she has passed the level eight piano examination, and she did well in this audition too. She looks like a promising talent, don’t you consider taking her under your wing?”

Shawn Norton was here only to wait for Nathalie Quinlan, and upon hearing Derliand Gober’s words, an expression of annoyance flashed across his face, and he coldly put down the student’s file he was holding, ”I’m not responsible for the Music Department’s admissions, and besides, I don’t understand the piano. Even if I take her in, what am I supposed to teach her, the Konghou?”

Ghania Quinlan was a student who had passed level eight piano, not level eight Konghou!

Derliand Gober was left feeling awkward by his snub, but since the man he was dealing with was Shawn Norton, he couldn’t retort and simply had to accept it, saying sheepishly, ”That’s not what I meant, Mr. Norton, don’t be angry. Ah, just forget I said anything, don’t take it to heart.”

He turned his face and looked back at Ghania Quinlan with a hint of regret.

He wished to help her because Ghania Quinlan had good grades and was his proud student’s girlfriend, and it was an excellent opportunity with Shawn Norton being there.

Unfortunately, Mr. Norton wasn’t interested.

But the fact that Shawn Norton wasn’t interested was within his expectations, after all, everyone knew Mr. Norton was temperamental and didn’t easily take on apprentices.

Ghania Quinlan...

It was just that she was lacking a stroke of luck!

The Music Department teachers asked her a few professional questions about the piano and music, and Ghania Quinlan answered all of them fluidly, impressing the admission-responsible teachers, who frequently nodded. In the end, they marked a circle on her name and told her, ”Okay, you can go back and wait for the message.”

Ghania Quinlan, with keen eyes, saw the teacher circling her name on the notebook, knowing she was selected.

She couldn’t hide her excitement, bowed politely and said, ”Thank you, teachers!”

”Hmm,” the Music Department teacher was quite satisfied with her, and said in a gentle tone, ”You may go now, and please call in the next student on your way out.”

Ghania Quinlan’s eyes sparkled, biting her lip. Her main purpose today wasn’t the audition, but to seek the highly reputable Shawn Norton. How could she be willing to leave without having achieved her biggest goal?

She looked around the classroom, standing on tiptoe, holding the CD she had brought, and spoke up nervously, ”Um, teacher...”

The Music Department teacher was quite fond of her, and seeing that she didn’t leave immediately, wasn’t upset. She glanced at Ghania and asked, ”Something else?”

Ghania took a deep breath, nibbled her lip, and muttered, ”I heard that Mr. Norton is here today, and I... I would like him to listen to my work. I wonder if I would have the honor of receiving guidance from Mr. Norton.”

She was bold indeed. Even Derliand Gober was surprised, not expecting her to directly address Shawn Norton in front of so many teachers.

Just that courage alone won the attention of many teachers.
