The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 409: Chapter 409: That Person Should be Amadeus Yancey_1

Mr. Zachmann’s face color was not very good as he looked at her somberly and spoke very slowly, ”You’re saying Nathalie came to Beijing by herself, without Audrick accompanying her?”

Disdaining to blame Nathalie Quinlan, Caryn Zachmann answered truthfully, ”I only saw her by herself in Nutziland Lane, carrying a bag, looking like she was shopping. At that time, I only saw her alone. My friend asked her to come with us, but she refused, saying she had friends waiting for her outside. But I never saw those friends, I don’t know whether they were male or female.”

The living room fell silent for a while.

Celine Tucker bowed her head, concealing her contemptuous expression, and the corners of her mouth curled slightly.

Both Mr. Zachmann and Leonardy Zachmann had rather unsightly expressions on their faces.

Leonardy Zachmann first asked his daughter, ”Did you see clearly? Are you sure she was alone, with no one else around her?”

Feeling doubted by her father, Caryn Zachmann protested unhappily, ”Dad! With so many friends around, it’s not possible that we all saw wrong. She was definitely by herself.”

Leonardy Zachmann didn’t know what else to say, and in front of Mr. Zachmann, he couldn’t speak poorly of Nathalie, so he could only express his anger towards his son, furrowing his brow and rolling up his sleeves to look for his phone, ”That Audrick! I told him to stay in McKinney and take good care of his sister, and this is how he takes care of her? I’m going to call him and ask him what the hell is going on!”

Celine Tucker normally didn’t pay much attention to her youngest son, she cared most about her oldest son and daughter, and was indifferent towards the middle child, Leonardy. Now, hearing Leonardy pushing all the blame onto Audrick, she wasn’t happy and put down her chopsticks, saying, ”We can’t blame Audrick for everything...”

She didn’t finish her sentence, but her meaning was clear.

”Alright,” Mr. Zachmann, who had led the Zachmann family all the way from McKinney to Beijing, certainly understood what was on his daughter-in-law’s mind. Her words were meant for him, suggesting that Nathalie was also at fault! He sighed inwardly and called out to Leonardy in a calm tone, ”The matter is not clear yet, what’s your hurry?”

Leonardy Zachmann glanced helplessly at his wife and slowly walked back, caught in an awkward middle ground.

Caryn Zachmann was long accustomed to her grandfather and father’s partiality and was indifferent to it, pouring herself a glass of water. Nathalie was a hopeless case anyway, their favoritism wouldn’t help.

It took a while for Mr. Zachmann to mentally come to terms with the situation before he turned to ask, ”By the way, Caryn, you mentioned Nathalie said she came to Beijing for an exam, did she tell you what kind of exam it was?”

Nathalie Quinlan hadn’t even given them a call before rushing off to Beijing, and he was somewhat angry, but even more worried.

However, he was not worried about the things Caryn and the others suspected—such as Nathalie mingling with disreputable friends.

Audrick was his grandson. He had watched Audrick grow up, and that child... was not like his father Leonardy, but more like Nathalie’s father, Stanley Zachmann.

Freedom-loving from a young age, if he liked something, he’d dive headlong into it without concern. He might seem careless, but he was actually meticulous and kind-hearted.

Nathalie was his sister.

He couldn’t possibly be at ease with Nathalie coming to Beijing alone. If he wasn’t with her, it meant someone else was.

Apart from Amadeus Yancey, who else could give him such peace of mind?

So, it was highly likely that the friend Caryn heard Nathalie mention outside Nutziland Lane was Amadeus Yancey!

With Amadeus Yancey by her side, he wasn’t too worried about Nathalie’s safety, but rather more concerned about other things... such as the exam Caryn mentioned.
