The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 421: Chapter 421: Mr. Avalon Refuses to Accept_1

[Nathalie: It’s okay.]

She hadn’t even put down her phone when Shawn Norton’s message came through again.

[Shawn: Nathalie, thank you. If it wasn’t for your willingness to appear on camera this time, I really wouldn’t know who else to ask to represent traditional music in this promotion. Sigh! By the way, I called the principal today to ask about your grades, have you checked your grades?]

Nathalie had indeed not checked her grades yet, what with being busy making dinner arrangements and recording videos, she had almost forgotten about it.

It was only after Shawn mentioned it that she remembered that the independent recruitment results for Tsinghua University were being released tonight. By logging onto the official website with her admission ticket number, she could check her results, and the students who qualified for the interview the next day would also receive a text message.

Since she typically received too many spam text messages, she had written her own blocking software. Nathalie pondered for a moment, flipped open the spam folder of her messages, and sure enough, found a text message from a Beijing phone number in there.

She didn’t open it but directly exited and replied to Shawn’s message.

Another message from Shawn came shortly after.

[Shawn: Hurry up and check it! I heard that after the grades were released today, the teachers at Tsinghua were arguing over you. Derliand Gober from the Finance Department has declared that no matter what, he wants to recruit you into his department tomorrow~! You, oh you, can be so nonchalant about taking a test that you don’t even bother to check your own grades. I don’t know whether to say you are too whimsical or confident enough, not worried at all about not getting admitted. Have you... have you thought it through about choosing Chinese Medicine? With your score, studying Chinese Medicine, ah, I don’t even know what to say, you will shock everyone tomorrow!]

The first ever student in Tsinghua’s history to score full marks opting out of popular majors like Finance and Clinical studies to pick an unpopular specialty that nobody else wanted.

If it were made public, probably only a few people would believe it.

If he hadn’t learned from Nathalie herself that she wanted to choose Chinese Medicine earlier, he would probably be just as surprised as everyone else during the interview tomorrow, with his eyeballs nearly popping out!

[Shawn: I went to see Mr. Avalon, that old man is so stubborn, thinking I wanted to push a relative of mine through the backdoor, he refused to meet with me. You better think it over about choosing Chinese Medicine! If all else fails, come to the Music Department. If you come to Tsinghua, I’ll personally mentor you.]

Nathalie had heard of Mr. Avalon, known domestically as Noah Rodgurez, a living fossil in the realm of Chinese Medicine, and the only saving grace of the Chinese Medicine Department, even more difficult to manage than Shawn Norton.

She had originally thought about consulting Uncle Cagwin about some tricky surgical questions, but seeing the message from Shawn, she felt a pang of regret...

Outside.

Alfred Garland brought a glass of water over to Amadeus Yancey and saw that his Amadeus was still toying with the toys and game discs Nathalie had bought on the sofa. After setting down the water glass, he couldn’t help but speak out, ”Amadeus, how can you be so unconcerned?”

Amadeus Yancey, with his long legs resting at the edge of the table and his elbows propped up on the edge of the sofa, relaxed against it, was holding the replica gun in his hands. The one-to-one replica gun looked like a child’s toy in his hands. He casually disassembled and reassembled it. Hearing Alfred’s nagging, he looked up, his eyes lazily lifting, his voice deep and seemingly careful not to disturb the person resting inside.

”Anxious about what?”

Alfred, frustrated and impatient, said: ”Anxious about the major Ms. Quinlan has chosen!”

He paced in place, practically in a frenzy, as if he himself had scored top marks at Tsinghua, ”I thought you would talk to Ms. Quinlan before she went in, try to persuade her to switch majors. Why didn’t you say anything! With her grades, Ms. Quinlan could easily get into Finance or Clinical studies, they’re clamoring for her, but she insists on choosing a specialty with no prospects, she might not even find a job after graduation!”
