The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 424: Chapter 424: If Such a Person Really Exists_1

She was already impatient, and upon hearing her words, she became even more so. She said indifferently, ”I didn’t hear that. Who said it?”

Ghania Quinlan pointed in the direction Candice Yancey had just left, ”A person who just passed by, I heard her making a phone call.”

Ivy Wilmar straightened her clothes, looked at her with a disdainful expression, took out lipstick and foundation from her bag, and said lightly, ”It’s impossible for someone to score a perfect score at Tsinghua University.”

”The questions at Tsinghua are all based on the standards of the Math Olympiad. With 650 points available, how could anyone score a perfect score? Unless that person is a genius! If there really was such a person, all the top universities in Beijing would go crazy trying to recruit them.”

She said this, convinced that such a person could not exist!

After all, no one could score a perfect score based on the university entrance exam standards, so how could it be possible on the even more difficult exams developed by Tsinghua itself?

Ghania Quinlan’s eyes twinkled as she pursed her lips and didn’t speak. On the surface, she seemed to agree with Ivy Wilmar’s words obediently, but only she knew what she was really thinking.

”I heard that person say someone scored a perfect score and was shocked, automatically assuming it was Tsinghua’s independent recruitment exam...”

”She might have been talking about another exam. Elementary schools have their exams, middle schools have their exams, it’s not only Tsinghua’s independent recruitment exam.”

Ivy Wilmar had already finished applying her lipstick in front of the mirror and was screwing on the cap, then she opened the powder compact and carefully patted it over the areas where her makeup had come off. After finishing her touch-ups, she put her things away and glanced at Ghania Quinlan with the corner of her eye, saying indifferently, ”Don’t worry, you did well on this test. A score of 588 is high, I didn’t expect you to do so well.”

Ghania Quinlan immediately put on a flattering smile, wrapped her arm around Ivy Wilmar’s arm sweetly and said softly, ”All thanks to Aunt and Uncle for hiring tutors for me, otherwise I wouldn’t have scored so well. Thank you, Aunt.”

Flattery gets you everywhere, and recently Ghania Quinlan had been flattering Ivy Wilmar every day, which had improved her view of her considerably, at least not as much as in the beginning.

Upon hearing this, she chuckled softly, patted her hand in return, and said contentedly, ”There aren’t many who scored higher than you in the cultural portion this time. Taking the artistic route with such a high score, you should be the most outstanding one among the students in this exam! You didn’t see earlier, Professor Derliand was praising you the whole time, saying how good your results were. You can be at ease about tomorrow’s interview. With Zayn Fisher and Professor Derliand’s relationship, you’ll definitely get in.”

She paused for a moment, then continued, ”From what Professor Derliand said, Mr. Norton will also be there tomorrow. You will definitely get into the Music Department, but Mr. Norton...”

She had no way to deal with Shawn Norton; she frowned, worry in her eyes, and said slowly, ”I wanted to arrange a dinner for you before so you could meet Mr. Norton privately. But then I ran into the Zachmann Family, and they messed everything up, so it didn’t happen. If you want to find a renowned mentor at the Music Department, it has to be Mr. Norton. He and Adelle Wafford are both highly respected teachers. Tomorrow is a chance, you need to grasp it well. With your great results and a good performance, you might be able to impress Mr. Norton!”

Ghania Quinlan, with her arm linked with Ivy Wilmar’s, nodded obediently with her head bowed, and answered, ”Yes, I know. I will try my best to ensure Mr. Norton sees me!”

But inside, she felt terrible.

Ivy Wilmar had told her later about the failed attempt to meet Mr. Norton and had also vaguely mentioned Caryn Zachmann.

She felt as if her chest was blocked, irritation welling up, always feeling unlucky.

Nathalie Quinlan was from the Zachmann Family; she could well be at odds with them!
