Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 284: Chapter 158: Truly One of Us

”Lawrence... even though your old Daoist master here doesn’t go online, I’m not completely clueless about worldly matters!” The old Daoist was very angry, poking Lawrence Winters’ back with his finger to show his dissatisfaction, ”How could I not be able to speak? If I couldn’t speak, would I have so many clients?!”

Lawrence Winters casually waved backwards, turning to glare at the old Daoist to stop him from causing trouble.

Christopher Mason held Asui with one hand, smiling faintly.

Lydia Graham, seeing this, said, ”Old immortal, if you are indeed our Asui’s great-uncle, then you are, whether you admit it or not. If you’re not, then you aren’t, regardless of your admission. — Let DNA do the talking, why rush to deny it?”

Lawrence Winters nodded repeatedly, eagerly agreeing, ”Yes, yes! Chief Lydia is absolutely right!”

The old Daoist got even angrier, tugging on Lawrence Winters’ arm, ”You ungrateful disciple! Whose side are you on?! Be careful, I’ll have your master kick you out!”

”Grandmaster, it’s our honor to listen to Chief Lydia’s direct confrontation, even if it’s aimed at you, you should gladly listen. Let’s speak nicely with Chief Lydia, there’s no overnight feud in a family, right? Right, Grandmaster?” Lawrence Winters seized the opportunity to get closer to his idol, eager not to miss out.

If she had a tail, it would be wagging by now.

Lydia Graham found Lawrence Winters’ ability to yield and thrive amusing as she watched her eyes and expressions full of theatrics.

She had a good impression of her, and coupled with the old man in front of her, who was ”possibly” her husband’s great-uncle, her attitude softened considerably.

However, Christopher Mason wasn’t as patient. He stoically put Asui down and nonchalantly patted his little back.

Asui immediately understood his dad’s intention, beaming with a bright smile on his fair face, reaching out his arms to the old Daoist, shouting, ”Old immortal, hug!”

The old Daoist instinctively caught him and held him up, letting him sit on his arm.

From this close, he finally noticed that this child’s features slightly resembled his sister.

It’s just that his face was too round, making it hard to see the classical delicate contours.

But the old Daoist was skilled at reading faces and saw it in the child’s bone structure.

A face is about bone-structure, which is genuinely seeing the essence through the surface.

”...this child has good features, extraordinarily good.” The old Daoist treasuredly placed his hand on little Asui’s round cheeks.

Asui also took the opportunity to hug the old Daoist’s neck, and with both small hands meeting at the back of his neck ”victoriously,” he quietly pulled a few strands of hair...

Lawrence Winters and Lydia Graham were both distracted by the old Daoist’s interaction with Asui.

Only Christopher Mason, looking from above, noticed Asui’s little actions.

His lips subtly curved upwards without leaving a trace.

But when Asui turned around to smile at him triumphantly, Christopher Mason’s lips straightened again, with no change in his expression.

Fortunately, Asui had grown used to his dad’s eternally unchanged indifferent expression — not cold, not warm, but a kind of poised tranquility and calm steadiness.

He giggled, then lunged towards Lawrence Winters, calling out, ”Sister, hug!”

The soft, cute child’s voice melted her heart.

Christopher Mason extended his arm to stop him, calmly saying, ”Asui.”

Then, without making a fuss, he took the few strands of hair in Asui’s hand.

Asui cooperatively released his little hand as if nothing had happened, continuing to smile adorably with his eyes, shining like black gemstones, focused solely on Lawrence Winters.

Lawrence Winters couldn’t help but reach out her arms, ”Come, come to sister!”

The old Daoist handed Asui over, and Asui lunged into Lawrence Winters’ arms.

Just like before, he hugged Lawrence Winters’ neck, quickly and lightly plucking a few strands of Lawrence Winters’ hair with both little hands behind her head.

Unexpectedly, Lawrence Winters was quite sensitive.

Even though Asui’s movements were gentle, using no force at all, and he was only a three-year-old, how much strength could he have?

Yet Lawrence Winters still sensed it, snorting with a natural tone, ”Little darling, don’t pull sister’s hair...”

Asui giggled, waving his arms as he released her neck, reaching towards Christopher Mason’s direction, pouting, ”Daddy, hug!”

Christopher Mason extended his arm to receive him, while with the other hand, discreetly taking the strands of Lawrence Winters’ hair from Asui’s grasp.

Only then did Lydia Graham realize what this father and son had been doing.

She tugged at the corner of her mouth with a bit of a headache.

This man truly has an incurable professional obsession!

Such a young child, what is he training him for???

Although Lydia Graham was annoyed, she would never embarrass Christopher Mason in front of outsiders.

She smiled, tapping Asui’s forehead lightly, ”You little rascal, just wait until we’re home for me to deal with you.”

Then, she pointedly added with a smile, ”If not for Asui suddenly fussing about wanting to play here today, we wouldn’t have met the old immortal... You and our Asui truly have a bond.”

Christopher Mason nodded towards Lawrence Winters and the old Daoist, saying blandly, ”We have things to do, we’ll be going first.”

Lydia Graham took Lawrence Winters’ hand, smiling, ”This is my card. You can text me at this number if anything comes up.”

She winked at Lawrence Winters and quickly followed after Christopher Mason.

Lawrence Winters clutched Lydia Graham’s business card tightly, watching the pair of perfect people vanish into the distance, musing aloud, ”I don’t know why, but I never thought Chief Lydia would break up with her man. It’s really strange.”

Old Daoist: ”...”
