Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 255: Chapter 142: I Heard She’s Your Precious Darling (Second Update, Includes Cold Iron Grace +5)

She thought back to her childhood, when she was only five or six years old, and already knew about getting DNA tests for paternity.

”It’s not a fake; it’s genuinely fake. If she’s really pregnant, it’s definitely not my child.” Edward Foster wasn’t too concerned about such matters, and said casually, ”These days, there are plenty of women who want to use pregnancy to climb up the social ladder.”

”That’s true.” Lawrence Winters thought of the woman with the three-hundred-million-dollar ultimatum, but she at least had more backbone, demanding ”a billion per pregnancy.”

Edward Foster laughed and said, ”There are too many people trying to pull such scams. Even if someone has four kids and waits until the man in question loses all his wealth, she still won’t have married him, yet people still dream these naïve fantasies.”

Lawrence Winters was also surprised, ”Do people still think that by simply saying ’I’m having your child,’ the guy will cluelessly become a dad? — Don’t they read books or at least check their social media?”

”Get familiar with DNA paternity testing. Young Master Edward, I think you should get yourself a discounted DNA testing package.” Lawrence Winters joked with a laugh.

Edward Foster laughed heartily, ”Well, yes, if they had your common sense, they wouldn’t do such things. But I must remind you, there are quite a few such women in the entertainment industry. You need to get used to it and not be so surprised.”

Then he stopped laughing, cleared his throat, and said, ”...Also, don’t believe it just because someone says stuff like that and pin the blame on me.”

”Wow, who would’ve thought Young Master Edward was such a scapegoat, my apologies.” Lawrence Winters laughed even harder, ”So, what will you do next? Handle it yourself. By the way, Lucas Harlow asked me to be his manager. I was a bit hesitant at first, but after today, I am no longer unsure. When you all come back, can we complete the paperwork for me to become Lucas Harlow’s manager?”

Edward Foster was taken aback, ”Lucas wants you to be his manager? He said this himself? When did he say that?”

”He didn’t tell you? It was two weeks ago... You’re not going to refuse, right...” Lawrence Winters was a bit nervous, ”This won’t affect my spokesperson duties; I promise there won’t be any conflict!”

That’s money, loads of cash!

Lawrence Winters had to have Lucas Harlow under her wing.

Edward Foster’s smile completely disappeared, and he didn’t agree immediately. He felt a bit heavy-hearted, and after a while, he said, ”I’ll ask Lucas what’s going on. If he really wants you to be his manager... On the other hand, do you know how to be a manager? Lucas is quite popular now, if not top-tier, then almost there. Can you handle it?”

”I can learn! I learn things very fast, and I’ve been a fan before, so I know how to manage a celebrity. I can definitely do it!” Lawrence Winters said eagerly, afraid that if Edward Foster got displeased, he’d bluntly refuse, and then she’d be done for.

No matter how willing Lucas Harlow was, he couldn’t overpower the boss.

Because Edward Foster is the boss.

Edward Foster’s mouth twitched, and he sourly said, ”...When I initially recruited you to be a spokesperson, you weren’t this proactive.”

”Young Master Edward, work doesn’t have high or low status; proactivity isn’t what’s important. What’s important is that if I become Lucas Harlow’s manager, I can help him reach the pinnacle!”

”He’s already almost at the top; you think it’s that easy to reach the top tier...” Edward Foster pouted, ”Fine, I’ll buy a ticket and fly back immediately; Lucas’s vacation is about to end too. I’ll ask him then, and if he agrees, I’ll transfer you two.”

Lawrence Winters nodded happily, ”No problem, no problem, hurry and ask! I won’t bother you then, bye!”

She hung up the phone, took a deep, satisfied breath, leaned back in her seat, and said in a cheerful mood, ”Brother Kenneth, once I become Lucas Harlow’s manager, with my first commission, I’m buying a house!”

Kenneth Osborne, ”...You have great ambitions.”

”Don’t doubt me.” Lawrence Winters proudly raised her head, ”Then my uncle won’t be taking my earnings any longer!”

Kenneth Osborne snorted, ”So you won’t help your uncle with feng shui anymore?”

”...Well, if I have time, I can still do both.” Lawrence Winters shrugged, ”But my uncle and my mom are working well together now; they don’t need me to play sidekick at the moment.”

”You have a pretty accurate view of your role.” Kenneth Osborne skillfully turned the steering wheel, quickly getting on the highway heading towards Lawrence Winters’ home.
