Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 263: Chapter 146: See, Aren’t I Obedient? (First Update)

Lawrence Winters couldn’t quite describe the feeling; there was just an urge to explain.

But on second thought, what was there to explain? She was just having a meal with a colleague...

Besides, Lucas Harlow would soon be an artist under her management, and she was counting on him to become a top celebrity, helping her reach the peak of her career!

After a brief moment of panic, she quickly calmed down.

Steadying herself, there was no change in her expression, but her typing speed increased significantly.

[Lawrence] replies [Mom]: ...Mom, that’s a star under my management. How about it? Doesn’t he have charisma? Seeing him is like seeing money. How can you compare him to Kenneth? You can’t objectify Kenneth...

[Lawrence] replies [Uncle]: Uncle, I’ll always remember your teachings! I absolutely won’t fall in love! Well-behaved.JPG.

[Lawrence] replies [Kenneth]: ...Kenneth, I’ll always be your little fan! Woof, woof, woof! Cute.JPG.

Gabrielle Winters looked at the photo of Lucas Harlow, frowned again, and replied.

[Mom] replies [Lawrence]: Lawrence, how many layers of filters did your colleague add? What’s the deal? So ugly he can’t be seen?

[Lawrence] replies [Mom]: Mom, he’s a big star! And soon to be my cash cow! How could he possibly be too ugly to be seen?! Patooey, patooey, patooey! Stop saying things that might affect my commission!!!

At this moment, Kenneth Osborne replied to Gabrielle Winters.

[Kenneth] replies [Mom]: Auntie Winters, I can remove his filters if you’d like to see?

Lawrence Winters: ”!!!”

She watched helplessly as Kenneth Osborne and her mom chatted under her post, and then Kenneth somehow removed the filters she added and even sent the unfiltered version directly to her mom, Gabrielle Winters!

But after sending it, her mom didn’t reply to her anymore.

Meanwhile, her uncle, Nick Zeller, was sweating profusely, swearing to Gabrielle Winters: ”Sis! Sis! It’s all Lawrence’s nonsense! I never taught her not to date! I really didn’t!”

”Really didn’t?” Gabrielle Winters’s face showed a mix of surprise and displeasure. She wasn’t looking at Nick, but rather out the window, saying calmly, ”Are you saying Lawrence lied? That’s unacceptable. I hate it when people lie to me. I’ll question her thoroughly when she’s back.”

Nick Zeller was so nervous he was about to explode.

He didn’t dare to tell Gabrielle that he actually... indeed... truly... taught Lawrence not to date...

When he took her to observe feng shui, he never hid the ugly squabbles between men and women from her, letting her watch the whole show.

Why Lawrence’s view on love is like this, he knows the reason better than anyone.

But he couldn’t admit it, nor could he say it.

Nick Zeller hung his head, and the tall man, looking like a frightened rabbit, wished to hide his body away from sight.

But he was so stout that even as a rabbit, he was a big white rabbit, not a small one.

Gabrielle Winters could be terrifying when she was angry, and both Nick Zeller and Lawrence Winters feared her wrath.

Usually, Nick Zeller would protect Lawrence Winnters, but this time, he didn’t dare to, so he let Gabrielle confront Lawrence, while he found it better to avoid the issue.

...

Lawrence Winters was privately chatting with Kenneth Osborne.

[Lawrence]: Kenneth, did you really remove the filters from Lucas’s photo? How did you do it?

[Kenneth]: Even if I told you, you wouldn’t understand. Not worth the effort. I need to get back to work now.

That was a clear sign he didn’t want to talk.

Lawrence Winters bit her lip and attempted another message.

[Lawrence]: Kenneth, what did you have for lunch? Will you be home early tonight?

After waiting a while, Kenneth Osborne still didn’t reply.

Lawrence Winters had no choice but to put down her phone.

Looking at the food in front of her, she noticed Lucas Harlow had already finished half of his.

”You eat so fast?” Lawrence Winters quickly snapped back to reality, smiling as she began her lunch.

Having been startled earlier, her energy was depleted, so she needed to eat more to replenish.

Seeing her start to eat, Lucas Harlow gently advised, ”It’s not good for your stomach to look at your phone while eating.”

Lawrence Winters nodded her head in agreement, but was clearly still distracted by her phone, indicating she didn’t take his words to heart.

Lucas Harlow smiled, not pushing any further.

After lunch, they went back to the company together.

Jason emerged, saying, ”Edward has already returned and wants to see you immediately.”

Lawrence Winters, who was planning to grab a coffee, abandoned the idea and, grabbing Lucas Harlow, headed straight for Edward Foster’s office.

Zoe Johnson was also there, her posture awkward, face pale, as if she’d just been through an unpleasant conversation.
