Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 260: Chapter 144: Full of Dog Food, Come Earlier Next Time

Joyce Shaw returned to the apartment she and her wild sister rented, it was already half past eleven at night.

He wanted to give her a surprise, so he didn’t call in advance.

Their rented apartment was at South Fourth Ring, a one-bedroom with a living room, more than fifty square meters, very spacious, enough for two people.

Walking in the hallway, Joyce found that the sensor light seemed broken, so the hallway was pitch dark.

He suddenly felt a bit guilty.

The environment here wasn’t too great, leaving his wild sister, a newly graduated female college student, here alone; he didn’t know if she worried about safety at night.

Thinking this, Joyce took out the key to open the door.

The key slid into the keyhole, aligned with a pull and a twist, the door opened.

Joyce pushed the door open, and suddenly a gust of wind came at him.

He quickly sidestepped to avoid it, casually hit the wall switch, and shouted: ”Wild sister! It’s me!”

The living room light immediately turned on, the wild sister put down the baseball bat in her hand, glared at Joyce for a while, then dashed into his arms, crying: ”You still know how to come back! You heartless fool! You still know how to come back!”

She punched him hard, but Joyce felt full of joy, letting her hit him with her small fists on his chest; he didn’t mind, lowered his head, and patiently kissed her.

After they intertwined for a while, Joyce pushed the wild sister away and said: ”I’ll go take a shower, you wait for me in the bedroom.”

The wild sister’s face instantly turned red, she snorted and said: ”How long has it been since you showered? Smelling all over!”

”Calling me smelly, yet you were kissing me eagerly just now.” Joyce teased her, tugging her little braids, ”Your hair’s grown out, not going short anymore?”

”You still remember my hair length?” The wild sister tossed her little braids she made at night, smiling: ”I want to grow it longer so I can wear a bun wreath at the wedding...”

Joyce had already met the wild sister’s parents, and they were very satisfied with him.

He had also bought a new house, which was being renovated, their wedding was set for October.

Joyce was now working overtime every day, thinking of taking a long vacation in October for the wedding and then taking the wild sister on a honeymoon.

Seeing the wild sister also busy preparing for their wedding, Joyce felt both sweet and a bit sad.

Like two people relying on each other for survival, even if the world ends, they’d still feel inseparable.

He told himself that she was the one, since the first time he saw her, he knew she’s the person he wants to spend his life with.

Joyce touched the wild sister’s head, smiled, and said: ”Looks beautiful.”

He went to the bathroom to take a shower, the wild sister quickly went to the kitchen to make dinner for Joyce.

She was an only child, pampered since childhood.

Like Lawrence Winters, she hadn’t learned how to cook except instant noodles.

But after cohabiting with Joyce for half a year, she had learned to cook.

The taste was okay, though not as delicious as Joyce’s cooking.

Because it was already late, the wild sister didn’t cook anything fancy, she just took the rice that turned a bit cold in the rice cooker, added two eggs, some chopped ham, and peas and corn kernels, and made a pot of fried rice.

She then heated two pieces of fried chicken and a cup of milk in the microwave.

After Joyce finished showering, he first gobbled up the fried chicken, then ate the fried rice.

After eating, nicely finished the milk, he hugged the wild sister and went into the bedroom.

...

The next day when the wild sister woke up, she found Joyce was already gone.

She checked her phone, it was just seven in the morning.

She usually got up at this time, tidied up, then took the subway to work, and could reach the office by half-past eight.

The wild sister stretched lazily, sat up from the bed, reached for her clothes on the chair beside the bed, her peripheral vision caught a glimpse of a pink sticky note on the nightstand.

The wild sister exclaimed, ”Eh?”, and picked it up for a look.

It was left by Joyce.

”Little lazy pig, wake up! Your husband has made you breakfast, your favorite century egg and lean meat porridge, a boiled egg, and a cup of milk, all placed on the dining table. Have breakfast before going to work. Love, your husband.”

And drew two smiling cartoon characters holding hands.

The wild sister was thrilled, quickly took a photo of the sticky note with her phone, went to the dining room to take photos of the breakfast Joyce prepared for her from different angles, and posted a nine-grid photo in her Moments.

After posting, she hurriedly ate breakfast, washed up in the bathroom, changed her clothes, and left for the subway.
