Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 270: Chapter 149: Third Favorite (Second Update)

”Has losing weight made you start gasping?” Gabrielle Winters gave her a sidelong glance, ”You haven’t seen it; when your uncle was young, he was quite the handsome guy, certainly not this chubby. He only got fat after he started apprenticing.”

Lawrence Winters had an epiphany, ”I get it! It must be because the food was too delicious at the master’s place, and Uncle couldn’t control himself and got fat!”

Nick Zeller, who had just come out with a plate of sweet potato sticky rice cake: ...

He sat across from Lawrence Winters, picked up a fork to stab a piece of sweet potato sticky rice cake, and ate leisurely. He said, ”Lawrence is right; it’s all because the food at my master’s place is too delicious. Exotic delicacies every day, you know? My master eats delicacies from the mountains daily; how can he not get fat?”

Gabrielle Winters frowned, ”Big brother, you’re spoiling Lawrence too much, always contradicting me in everything. How can I educate her?”

Lawrence Winters raised one hand while eating, ”Mom, I’m already twenty, not a kid anymore. How are you planning to educate me?”

”Even if you’re a hundred, as long as your mom is alive, she can educate you! Why, not convinced?” Gabrielle Winters said sternly, poking Lawrence Winters’ forehead with her finger.

Lawrence Winters’ skin was particularly tender and fair, and just after one poke, a red mark immediately appeared in the middle of her forehead.

Seeing this, Nick Zeller said distressedly, ”Come on, little sis, Lawrence is indeed a grown-up now. You can educate her, but don’t touch her.”

Gabrielle Winters felt a bit embarrassed and couldn’t help but rub the red mark on her forehead.

Well, a fingertip-sized red mark was indeed rubbed into half a palm size.

Half of Lawrence Winters’ forehead was brightly red.

She herself didn’t mind, but Gabrielle Winters felt even more embarrassed.

Nick Zeller chuckled and urged Gabrielle Winters to the bedroom, ”Alright, alright, little sis, stop causing trouble; go take a bath and then lie down to watch a show.”

Gabrielle Winters looked at Lawrence Winters, her eyes carrying a hint of apology and caution, and whispered, ”I’ll go rest first.”

”Alright, Mom, you go rest; after finishing dinner, I’ll take a bath too and go to sleep. I’ll be quite busy lately, so don’t worry.”

Lawrence Winters said obediently, watching her mom return to her bedroom.

After hearing the sound of the bedroom door closing, Lawrence Winters said quietly, ”What’s up with Mom? She’s been quite irritable lately...”

”Maybe menopause is coming...” Nick Zeller murmured ambiguously, ”Don’t provoke your mom; she’s having a hard time too.”

”Of course I know, I love my mom the most, and then Uncle.” Lawrence Winters said with a flattering face.

As soon as she finished speaking, Kenneth Osborne walked in.

As their eyes met, Lawrence Winters blurted out, ”The third person I love the most is Ken!”

Kenneth Osborne: ...

But the corners of his lips unknowingly curled up.

His face was already exceptionally handsome, and now, in his happiest moment, his smile was simply radiant.

Lawrence Winters stared blankly at him.

Until Kenneth Osborne sat down beside her, gently brushed her shoulder, and she snapped back to reality, hurriedly turning her gaze away, burying her head in her large bowl, and taking a big mouthful of rice.

After chewing twice, she suddenly felt something was wrong, looking angrily at Nick Zeller who sat across from her, ”Uncle! What did you put in my bowl?!”

”Nothing, just a piece of steamed fatty pork! I found it too oily, so I gave it to you.” Nick Zeller remained unfazed, as if he had naturally placed a boiled shrimp in Lawrence Winters’ bowl.

”Steamed fatty pork?! I hate fatty pork the most!” Lawrence Winters uttered with a mouthful of rice, compelled to swallow the special flavor of steamed pork.

Then, the next moment, she bolted to the kitchen and clutched the trash can, vomiting desperately.

Kenneth Osborne hurried after her, poured her some Pu-erh tea to relieve the grease, squatted beside her, patting her back to soothe her.

Lawrence Winters vomited until tears welled up in her eyes, nearly spewing stomach acid.

She took the Pu-erh tea Kenneth Osborne poured for her, drank it up in one gulp, and said, ”More.”

Kenneth Osborne poured her another cup, this time using a larger glass.

Lawrence Winters drank it in big gulps, her peach-shaped face turning pale, making the red mark on her forehead look even more eerie.

Only then did Kenneth Osborne notice Lawrence Winters’ forehead, his heart clenched, his voice deepened, ”What happened to your forehead? Who hit you?”

Lawrence Winters covered her forehead, sheepishly saying, ”No... no one hit me.”

”You came back late today, did you have a conflict at the company? Got into a fight?” Kenneth Osborne immediately imagined Lawrence Winters being bold in a fight.

”Really, no. I did come back late, but at the company, no one would dare to hit me.” Lawrence Winters waved her arm, ”Though this arm is skinny, it’s strong!”

Kenneth Osborne: ”...”

Seeing Kenneth Osborne staring at her forehead, Lawrence Winters quickly leaned on his arm, acting weakly, ”Ken, I feel terrible, help me to my room.”

Without another word, Kenneth Osborne scooped her up horizontally and headed straight to her bedroom.

Being princess-carried, Lawrence Winters looked bewildered: Who am I? Where am I? What am I doing?

She stared at Kenneth Osborne’s perfectly shaped jaw, dazed, until he carried her to the room and placed her on the bed, snapping back to reality, couldn’t help saying, ”My leg’s not broken, why carry me? Showing off your strength?—Come on, let’s test each other, see who’s stronger!”

Kenneth Osborne tapped her head, ”Watch your manners, call me your brother!”

”Ken!” Lawrence Winters obediently followed suit, ”You are my real brother!”

After calling, she squeezed Kenneth Osborne’s arm, smiling, ”You can’t tell, Ken is really strong... My weight, most men can’t carry it.”

”How many men have carried you?—Enough to analyze and summarize?” Kenneth Osborne snorted coldly and tapped her on the back of her head.

Nick Zeller, who came over to lean against the door to watch the fun, suddenly stood up straight, ”Hey Kenneth, don’t tap Lawrence’s head! She’s not as smart as you to begin with; what if she gets dumber from your tapping?”
