Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 252: Chapter 141: My People—I Can’t Even Bear to Scold Them (First Update)

”It wasn’t you?! Really wasn’t you?!” Sister Zeng was both surprised and delighted as she rushed over, nearly pouncing onto the phone.

She knelt directly on the floor, looking at her phone with real glee, saying, ”That’s great! Our PR department’s spokesperson also said it wasn’t you, so they immediately posted a clarifying Weibo for you!”

”I should thank her! Was she deliberately making me look bad?! Clarify all you want, but what was the meaning of posting my unedited photos with no beauty filters?!” Becca practically screamed, ”Don’t you know my rivals love spreading my ugly pictures?! Are you an undercover sent by my rivals?!”

”I’m going to tell Little Fu! I don’t want you as my manager anymore! You’re fired!” Becca shouted loudly, angrily hanging up the phone.

Standing silently next to her, Zoe Johnson bent down with a smile to pick up the phone, saying, ”It’s okay now, I’ve arranged for the reporters to be here. We’ll livestream the press conference to clarify things to the public.”

Becca nodded, dabbed her eyes with a tissue, and checked her minimal makeup in a small mirror to ensure it was flawless.

”Zoe, what about the other livestream? It will be broadcast simultaneously, right?” Becca asked worriedly as she put away the mirror.

Their plan this time was supposed to be perfect, achieving the maximum effect.

Unfortunately, it was seen through by that PR department spokesperson, and the effect they wanted had been halved.

”Of course it will. I’ve arranged everything on that side. Simultaneous livestreaming, and then media will combine the two sides’ streams to broadcast on television. Rest assured, there won’t be any negative points,” Zoe said regretfully, ”It’s a pity, that Lawrence Winters is too cunning; there’s no way to sway your fans.”

Celebrity influencers all know that stirring some news and playing the victim every so often not only consolidates fame but also endears fans, increasing fan loyalty, commonly known as ”treating fans harshly.”

Remembering what Zoe said, Becca asked in a low voice, ”...Is it true that Little Fu really likes that Lawrence Winters?”

”What do you think? Knowing she felt wronged, he personally helped her to take a stand against the Spencer Group. He even went against the crowd to recruit her as a spokesperson for the PR department, overriding many experienced employees?”

”And you know what?” Zoe said mysteriously, ”Before even officially joining, Lawrence Winters was already using our company’s PR department’s official social media to confront the Spencer Group, a textbook case of personal vendetta using public resources!”

”She’s that excessive?!” Becca widened her large, yet notoriously vacant eyes, ”Really? Would Little Fu allow such a thing to happen?! He’s clearly someone who keeps personal and business matters separate!”

”What do you think?! This time, Little Fu actually allowed it... He’s even covering for her, saying it was authorized by him... But who doesn’t know who...” Zoe curled her lips disdainfully.

The others might not know about this, but she knew everything clearly.

The PR department’s director was tight-lipped, but the various personalities of the department’s employees meant that whispers abounded, so Zoe had caught hold of some truths.

”He’s actually so indulgent with her...” Becca said, her voice dripping with jealousy, as if she had swallowed several lemons.

”So, you need to speed up your steps, use the child in your belly to force a marriage...” Zoe glanced at her stomach, ”Remember, you’re pregnant.”

”But... what if people find out I’m not pregnant, what do I do then?” Becca bit her lip, stammering, ”If Little Fu finds out I tricked him...”

Zoe’s lips curled into a mocking smile, ”... Haven’t you ever tricked him before?”

Becca immediately clammed up, put on a black mask, and walked with Zoe to the location where they were planning the press conference today.

At the same time, in another hotel, the couple dealing with the ”mistress” were also being interviewed by journalists.

...

In Lawrence Winters’ office, Sister Zeng was still in a daze. She mumbled, ”She wants to fire me... She said she wants to fire me...”

Lawrence Winters chuckled and said, ”Don’t listen to her, Sister Zeng. This company isn’t hers to decide who to fire. Little Fu isn’t that imperious.”

”... But her relationship with Little Fu...” Sister Zeng sighed, ”I’m just afraid she’ll sway his decisions.”

Lawrence Winters raised an eyebrow, ”Does Becca really have a thing with Little Fu?”

Sister Zeng neither confirmed nor denied it, just kept her head down, her energy completely deflated.

Lawrence poured her a glass of water and, upon returning to check Weibo, saw that Becca’s press conference had hit the hot searches.

”Heh, they really were prepared.” Lawrence clicked open the live video and saw that the host of the livestream was particularly adept.
