Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 265: Chapter 147: If Your Heart Matches Mine (Second Update, Coldsteel Grace +7)

Lucas Harlow sat aside with a slight frown, taking a seat on the nearby sofa, and said lightly, ”Weren’t we going to talk about switching managers?”

Edward Foster pretended not to hear him and kept teasingly watching Lawrence Winters.

Lawrence Winters curled his lip, waved his hand, and sat down beside Lucas Harlow, saying to Edward Foster, ”Boss, you’re kidding me, how could I dare have you listen to me...”

”You asked me not to drive Zoe Johnson away, didn’t I just keep her? Go ask around, has there ever been a time when I, Little Ed, took back what I said? Except for you, of course!”

Edward Foster patted his chest, looking all righteous and serious.

Lawrence Winters tugged at the corners of his mouth, ”Are you going to perform a chest-breaking with a huge stone or what? Clearly, I saved your company from a public relations crisis, you should thank me, it’s not like you’re doing me a favor!”

Edward Foster touched his nose and smiled, ”Seems like we still need to rub along, you aren’t quite clear on Little Ed’s working style yet. No worries, there’s plenty of time, we’ll slowly get to know each other, and eventually there’ll be a ’heart to heart’, a ’meeting of the minds’!”

Lawrence Winters tilted his head helplessly, looking at Edward Foster and said, ”Little Ed, where did you receive your nine-year compulsory education?”

Edward Foster froze for a moment, ”...I’ve been studying abroad since I was a child, what’s up?”

”Oh, no wonder.” Lawrence Winters had a look of ”understanding”, ”That perfectly explains your misuse of words.”

Edward Foster understood she was teasing him, but he wasn’t annoyed at all.

Walking back behind his desk, he took out two contracts and placed them on the table, saying with a smile, ”Lucas did say he wanted you to be his manager, I’m the last to know. You two get along so well, do you really want to switch to a manager-celebrity relationship?”

Edward Foster leaned back on his chair, smiling, ”Although there’s plenty of good stories between managers and celebrities, there are more tales of them falling out.—Make sure to think it through!”

When he said this, he was looking at Lawrence Winters, not Lucas Harlow.

Lawrence Winters silently observed Edward Foster, carefully evaluating and corroborating everything he said and did.

But after sizing him up and down, all she could discern was that Edward Foster genuinely wasn’t trying to mess with her, he was genuinely reminding her.

Lawrence Winters smiled slightly and said, ”Well then, no need for you to worry, Little Ed. Anyway, I said I would elevate Blue Buddy to the top tier, and I will certainly keep my word!”

As if?

The pay difference between top-tier and near top-tier is like heaven and earth, right?

Lucas Harlow coughed a bit uneasily upon hearing the nickname ”Blue Buddy”.

Edward Foster stifled a laugh, ”Really aiming to propel Blue Buddy to the top tier, huh? But, have you asked Blue Buddy whether he wants to be top tier?”

”Is there even a need to ask?! A celebrity who doesn’t want to be famous is not a good celebrity!” Lawrence Winters waved his little fist, ”I will absolutely appeal to Blue Buddy with feelings and reason, making him understand how crucial it is to diligently stay in the game!”

Lucas Harlow: ”...”

He just wanted Lawrence Winters to have an opportunity to earn more money, isn’t it like he’s hired himself a taskmaster?

Edward Foster burst out laughing, ”Lucas, oh Lucas! Today’s your day!—Lawrence, no matter what, I can’t make Lucas work more. But I’ll leave him to you then, maybe you’ll get him to change his work attitude? After all, you’re someone who can make Little Ed take back his words!”

Lawrence Winters said with a smile, ”Once I become the manager, things will surely be different.”

Edward Foster curiously asked, ”So how do you plan on managing Lucas? I’ve mentioned before, moving from near top-tier to top-tier, there’s a fundamental difference, it’s not purely achievable by working hard.”

Lawrence Winters blinked and said, ”Blue Buddy was indeed a bit lazy before, I knew that even when I was a fan.”

”He used to film just one project a year, only participating in movies, and they had to be big productions, but he never took on leading roles, only those special, challenging supporting roles.”

”He managed to hover between semi-popular and unnoticed for several years, not even getting familiar in the entertainment circle.”

”Recently, after being ’discovered’ by me, there were airport fan meetings, Weibo posts to build hashtags, later creating quite a stir on Weibo, he suddenly skyrocketed to fame.”

”Henceforth, gaining fame is also a field of study, an intricate field of study.”

”We all know, major fame depends on destiny, minor fame on luck.”

”Blue Buddy has luck, meeting me led to a small burst of popularity.”

”I can tell fortunes, a quick calculation shows he indeed has the fate to achieve major fame, so he doesn’t really need me to promote him, his luck will naturally bring him to a top-tier, explosive position.”
