Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 271: Chapter 150: The Worse You Are, the Happier I Am

Kenneth and Lawrence Winters didn’t expect Nick Zeller to sneak up quietly to the door and watch.

Lawrence pushed Kenneth’s hand away and smiled at Nick, saying, ”Uncle, Kenneth was just messing around. He didn’t hit me, just patted me.”

... Uh, after saying it, Lawrence felt something was off.

Kenneth also looked a bit embarrassed.

He awkwardly withdrew his hand, smiling, ”...How could I bear to hit Nora? I just patted her...”

This also sounded a bit off.

Only Nick saw no problem at all.

He took another look at Lawrence and said, ”Even if you’re just joking around, don’t mess with the back of the head for no reason. Young people’s back of the head is rather fragile. Once damaged, the consequences can be severe.”

Severe, seriously?

Lawrence silently grumbled about Nick in her heart, although she wouldn’t embarrass her uncle in front of others.

She laughed and nodded, saying to Kenneth, ”You got it, right? From now on, don’t touch the back of my head. You love pinching my cheeks, don’t you? From now on...”

No, doesn’t she quite hate others pinching her cheeks?

This opening can’t be allowed.

Lawrence acted as if nothing happened and quickly changed the subject, ”Oh... The steamed fatty pork just made me feel sick. My throat is uncomfortable, need to rinse my mouth.”

Kenneth also stood up, saying, ”I’m off to dinner.”

He walked out of Lawrence’s room, and Nick only stepped aside without leaving.

After Kenneth went to the dining room for dinner, Nick sneaked into Lawrence’s room and even closed the door.

Lawrence came out from the bathroom after rinsing her mouth, just in time to see Nick standing at the bathroom door.

”Uncle, do you need anything else?” Lawrence wanted to grab her clothes to shower, then go to bed.

Nick looked at Lawrence and asked, ”Have you felt unwell lately? Any headaches, colds? Or fever and coughing? Or even limb numbness?”

”You’re getting more and more absurd.” Lawrence rolled her eyes, ”Uncle, did you forget the nickname kids gave me when I was young, ’Super Nora,’ that’s me!”

She pointed to herself in return, ”I was healthier than a child when I was young, except for having bad luck, everything was fine.”

”Later on my luck improved, everything remained fine. The grandmaster said I’m the legendary ’chosen girl,’ or the lucky koi star!”

Lawrence bragged shamelessly with pride.

Her mood was always so sunny and upward, negative emotions could never settle or ferment around her.

Nick suspiciously looked at her, ”Is it really that good? You’re not lying to me, right?”

”Why would I lie to you? To be honest, my luck is still as good as ever.” Lawrence walked to the closet and opened it to find clothes, saying as she did so, ”Look, when I graduated and needed a job, a great job was immediately offered to me.”

”My boss is pleasant and funny, listens to me well, you don’t need to worry about any hidden rules.” Lawrence said, tilting her head, ”Actually, it’s those young male celebrities who should worry if I’ll seek them out for hidden rules, hahaha!”

Nick: ”...”

He laughed a bit lazily, ”My niece is so reckless, being a good and proper Heavenly Master, born in the new era, grown under the red flag, I should criticize you.”

”But why am I so happy to see you like this?”

”The more reckless you are, the happier I am.”

Lawrence turned to glare at Nick angrily, ”How am I reckless? I was just joking. I haven’t imposed hidden rules on Blue-boy or shown small boss Fu any attitude.”

”Hahaha... indeed, she is my niece and disciple! This kind of who else if not me attitude really deserves a good talking to...” Nick laughed and teased her.

He raised his hand, ”Alright, go shower and sleep early, wait for your grandmaster to come, and we’ll meet him together.”

”The old man is coming down the mountain this time, who knows how long it’ll be until we see him come down again.”

Lawrence felt somewhat sad hearing this, walked over and silently shook Nick’s arm, ”Uncle, the grandmaster will be fine. Don’t worry unnecessarily.”

”I’m not worried. Just a bit melancholic.” Nick looked at Lawrence with a complex expression, ”Nora, if Uncle is no longer here in the future, you have to help Uncle take good care of the grandmaster.”

Lawrence squinted her eyes and stared at Nick for a while, ”Uncle, did you get it wrong? You’re thirty years younger than the grandmaster, no matter how you calculate, the grandmaster would ascend first, why do you want me to help take care of him?”

Nick shrugged, laughing, ”That may not be the case. Though I’m over thirty years younger than your grandmaster, when it comes to enduring, your grandmaster is a real troublemaker. He could exhaust all of us, and still be lively hunting in the mountains.”
