Chapter 1250: Chapter 1251: Barbed Wire

One quarter of an hour later, Liu Feifei, with the help of Tuoba Yao and the others, also managed to surpass Su Chengyuan.

As Tuoba Yao passed by Su Chengyuan, she commented indifferently, ”In a place where true skill matters, the only way to reclaim your lost face is by your own efforts.”

Put another way: Although you are a princess, this place relies on true skill for survival and advancement. Now that you’ve lost face, even if everyone is wary of offending a princess and doesn’t dare ridicule you openly, they will mock you behind your back. The only solution is for you to use your own skill to make it impossible for others to mock you.

Su Chengyuan, though spoiled and wilful, was not stupid and understood the meaning behind Tuoba Yao’s words right away.

Then, the only thought in Su Chengyuan’s mind was: Stand up for myself!

With this thought, Su Chengyuan no longer cared whether anyone would lend her a hand; she simply kept dragging her heavy steps and moved forward.

Seeing Su Chengyuan circling the training ground again, An Jing knew that she had chosen to stay in the military camp, but still, she said nothing.

However, Ye Zhi couldn’t help saying: ”Boss, she is so fickle; to be honest, I was hoping she would leave the military camp.”

An Jing smiled and said, ”When you first joined the military camp, weren’t you a thorny character too?”

Ye Zhi immediately laughed and said no more.

When Du Aya and Li Wuyu finished helping Ting Shu complete ten laps, they thought of helping Su Chengyuan.

”Don’t help me!” Su Chengyuan, still stubborn, brushed off the rope Du Aya tried to tie around her and kept moving forward, head down.

In the end, Su Chengyuan finished the ten laps before Liu Feifei did.

Liu Feifei no longer had any strength left in her legs, and her body was almost entirely supported by Lie Qi and Shi Shi, while Tuoba Yao was pulling her from the front with a rope, not daring to run for fear of causing anyone to fall by accident.

Therefore, Tuoba Yao walked at the front while pulling Liu Feifei along.

By the time Liu Feifei completed the ten laps, it was already two hours, and time for breakfast.

”Thank you.” Liu Feifei was truly grateful to Tuoba Yao and the others, especially after completing the ten laps.

Yet, Tuoba Yao and the others seemed unconcerned, as if they had never helped Liu Feifei at all.

The dining times in the military camp mess hall were fixed; lunch was from two hours to two hours and a quarter, lunch was from noon until a quarter to one, and dinner was from five until a quarter past five.

And one quarter of an hour equates to fifteen minutes in modern times.

Unless there are special circumstances where the military leaders request the cooks to prepare meals separately, those who miss the mealtime would still get a chance to eat. Otherwise, if the mealtime is missed, ordinary soldiers would just have to go hungry.

At two hours and a quarter, the new recruits finished breakfast and returned to their tents to rest for a while.

At two hours and a half, Ye Zhi arrived with ten new recruits and came to the training ground again. This time they did not stand at their previous assembly spot but stood beside the barbed wire area of the training ground.

The barbed wire was set very low, each wire just allowing one person to crawl through, each one stretching thirty meters, and there were precisely ten wires.

An Jing and Ye Zhi are now acting in accordance with the training plan they had prepared in advance for the new recruits.

They planned to focus on physically training these ten new recruits for the first month. As for skills and such, those would be taught gradually after a month.

Upon seeing the ten new recruits standing in a neat row with Ye Zhi at their head, An Jing finally pointed at the ten barbed wires and said, ”I will give you a maximum of two hours; you have to crawl back and forth under these 300 times.”
