Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1241: Chapter 1242: Fear of Blood

They have this worry because they really don’t know what other tricks An Jing may have up her sleeve to select them.

...

After breakfast, An Jing had the remaining eleven new recruits come to the chicken coop in the military camp.

All eleven recruits were puzzled as to why An Jing wanted them there.

An Jing said, ”The soldiers in the military camp are always ready to charge and fight for the country. If you truly go to the battlefield one day, if you don’t kill the enemy, the enemy will kill you.”

”So,” An Jing pointed to the chickens in the coop, ”this is the final test I give you, killing a chicken.”

After a pause, An Jing continued: ”If you are afraid of killing even a chicken, how can you talk about killing enemies on the battlefield?”

Du Aya said, ”I don’t even know how many pigs I’ve killed, am I supposed to be afraid of killing a chicken?”

As she spoke, Du Aya picked up a kitchen knife beside her, rushed into the chicken coop, caught a chicken, and decisively chopped off its head in one smooth motion.

And with two soft thuds, the chicken flapped its wings and then died.

Everyone: ”...”

Zhou Piaopiao saw the splattering chicken blood and fainted right there.

An Jing thought Zhou Piaopiao had fainted from fright and quickly had a soldier take her to the military doctor’s tent to see Gong Juechen.

When that soldier came back, he reported to An Jing: ”The military doctor gave her an injection, and she woke up immediately. When she woke up, she kept screaming about blood. The military doctor asked carefully and found out she has a fear of blood. She faints every time she sees blood.”

It turned out to be a fear of blood.

But how can someone who faints at the sight of blood be a soldier? It’s normal to see blood in the military camp, and even more so on the battlefield where blood flows like rivers.

Hearing the soldier’s words, An Jing immediately decided that she needs to send Zhou Piaopiao back home.

Meanwhile, Tuoba Yao, Li Wuyu, Shi Shi, Baoqin, Lie Qi, Shi Hua, and Ting Shu had all killed a chicken.

Now, only Liu Feifei and Su Chengyuan hadn’t killed one.

Liu Feifei wasn’t that she didn’t want to kill; she just didn’t know how to catch chickens. Enduring the strange smell in the coop, she kept trying to catch chickens but was unable to catch any, so she couldn’t kill one.

An Jing did not ask anyone to help Liu Feifei catch a chicken; she just looked at Su Chengyuan, who had been standing by the coop, particularly disliking the bad smell inside and unwilling to go in: ”Are you giving up being a soldier?”

Su Chengyuan immediately said, ”Who said that! I just despise the smell here!” It really stinks!

She was just standing by the coop and could already smell the odd odor inside, and she had already covered her mouth and nose. If she went inside, wouldn’t the smell be even stronger and make it even harder for her to breathe?

An Jing said indifferently, ”If you can’t pass this test, you can go back to the palace.”

”You!” Su Chengyuan was furious and glared intensely at An Jing. Then, holding her breath and forcing herself not to breathe, she rushed into the coop, quickly caught a chicken, and killed it.

Then, she rushed out.

Her hands smelled of chicken, which was also very unpleasant. As soon as Su Chengyuan rushed out of the coop, she stopped covering her mouth and nose.

Once out of the coop, Su Chengyuan glared at An Jing intensely, in a ’you don’t want me to be a soldier, but I will become one’ manner.

An Jing found Su Chengyuan’s behavior amusing internally, but she didn’t show it on her face.

Ignoring Su Chengyuan’s glare, she continued watching Liu Feifei catching chickens in the coop.

Finally, Liu Feifei also caught a chicken.

Liu Feifei didn’t know how to kill the chicken properly; her hands weren’t sure how to hold the knife either. After hesitating for a while, Liu Feifei finally killed the chicken.
