Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1237: Chapter 1238: Speak Sooner

The new recruits all ran slower than they did yesterday.

Tobanya, Shi Shi, Du Aya, and Li Wuyu, although slower than yesterday, still ran quite fast. An Jing looked at these four and was very satisfied with their physical condition.

Su Chengyuan, Ting Shu, Yan Xiaohong, Zhou Piaopiao, and Liu Feifei ran much slower than yesterday. They could still run in the first lap, but from the second lap onward, it could not really be called running but was more like walking. The weights on their limbs exhausted them to the point where they couldn’t run at all.

Lie Qi, Baoqin, and Shi Hua could still run, but very slowly. Yet compared to those like Su Chengyuan, who couldn’t really run, they were still relatively faster.

Among Lie Qi, Baoqin, and Shi Hua, Lie Qi was the fastest runner.

Tobanya was the first to finish running ten laps with a load, Du Aya finished second, and Shi Shi third.

Although Li Wuyu ran two extra laps, he still finished faster than Lie Qi and the others, finishing fourth.

Unlike yesterday when Tobanya, Shi Shi, and Du Aya ran without showing signs of fatigue, with faces unflushed and breath steady, today, all three were somewhat tired and gasping for breath.

After completing twelve laps with a load, Li Wuyu lay on the ground, gasping for air and taking a rest. He was truly exhausted! The training ground was really immense!

By the time Li Wuyu and the others had rested sufficiently, Lie Qi and the others still hadn’t completed their ten laps.

An Jing said to the four, ”You may go back. Whether you choose to sleep or play in the tent is up to you, but remember, be on time for breakfast at the canteen when the time reaches 7:30.”

It wasn’t yet 5 o’clock, so they could go back to sleep for two more hours. Hearing An Jing’s words, Tobanya, Shi Shi, Du Aya, and Li Wuyu went back to their tents to continue sleeping.

As Du Aya turned to leave, she said to An Jing, ”Instructor, if we can go back early next time, just let us know sooner, so I can run a bit faster.”

An Jing just smiled and didn’t say anything.

After Lie Qi, Baoqin, and Shi Hua finished running, An Jing also permitted them to go back and rest a while longer.

At this time, Liu Feifei collapsed from lack of strength, but she didn’t complain, nor did she tear up like yesterday. Without saying anything and regardless of the injuries on her hands not being fully healed, she bit her teeth and slowly crawled forward.

Yan Xiaohong, Zhou Piaopiao, Ting Shu, and Su Chengyuan walked slower and slower.

When Su Chengyuan completed her fifth lap and passed by An Jing, she stopped and asked, ”Instructor, may I take off this sandbag? I really can’t walk anymore.”

An Jing didn’t speak but pointed at the gate of the women’s military camp with a gesture conveying ’if you don’t want to stay in the camp, you can go, no one is stopping you.’

Su Chengyuan was frustrated, but still dragged her heavy burden step by step forward. It’s just ten laps; as Princess, she would definitely complete them!

Ting Shu, without making a sound, persevered through the ten laps, and by this time, the sky had already started to brighten slightly.

An Jing patted her on the shoulder, ”Go back and rest a bit, be sure to be on time for breakfast at the canteen at 7:30.”

”Yes, Instructor!” Even though she was completely exhausted, Ting Shu responded with the loudest voice she could muster, and her spirits immediately lifted.

An Jing was very satisfied.

After Ting Shu left, Ye Zhi looked again at the figures of Su Chengyuan, Yan Xiaohong, Zhou Piaopiao, and Liu Feifei on the training ground, especially at Liu Feifei who was struggling to crawl. Ye Zhi’s gaze lingered on Liu Feifei for an extra two seconds.
