Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1245: Chapter 1246: I Want to Train Ten Different Soldiers

”But,” Su Chengyu pondered, ”it’s just too hard. Even men might not be able to endure it, let alone women...”

An Jing said, ”Don’t underestimate women; perhaps they will be trained successfully. Also, if I really can’t train the soldiers as I wish, I’ll change my strategy in time.”

After a pause, An Jing added, ”There are only ten new recruits in the female soldiers’ military camp. With so few people, my thought is to train ten different kinds of soldiers to better serve the country.”

Su Chengyu immediately responded earnestly, ”If this endeavor succeeds, it would indeed be a blessing for Xiyun.”

After talking with Su Chengyu for a few more sentences, An Jing left the Imperial Study Room together with Xiao Changyi.

As soon as they stepped out of the Imperial Study Room, An Jing heard—

”Mother! Mother!”

Following the voices, she saw four little ones surrounded by eunuchs, palace maids, and guards, trotting over with their short legs, extremely excited and endearingly rushing towards her.

An Jing immediately broke into a smile, hurried over to the four little ones, then bent down and gathered all four into her embrace.

Holding the soft bodies of the four little ones and hearing them happily call her ”Mother,” An Jing felt her heart melt completely, and there wasn’t a single hard spot left in her.

”How did you know that mother entered the palace?” An Jing asked the four youngsters.

An Yiyun immediately replied in her baby voice, ”Someone told Grandfather that Mother had come to the palace to find Uncle, so Grandfather sent someone to bring us to find Mother and Father.”

An Jing understood, then said, ”But Mother can’t stay with you for long, just until it’s about to get dark. Then Mother will go to the military camp, and you’ll be good and stay in the palace, okay?”

The four little ones answered immediately in their baby voices, ”Okay.”

”Have you had lunch? Your father and I haven’t eaten yet.”

The four little ones urged, ”Then Mother and Father go have lunch quickly, don’t be hungry, hunger is uncomfortable, we’ve already eaten with Grandfather.”

”Mhm, Father and Mother should go eat quickly.”

An Jing first exchanged a smiling glance with Xiao Changyi before letting go of the children and standing up.

Next, An Jing took An Yiyun’s hand, An Yiyun held onto An Yiqing, An Yiqing to Su Yixing, Su Yixing to Su Yi Jing, and Xiao Changyi took Su Yi Jing’s hand. The family of six, in a particularly warm and harmonious atmosphere, went to have their meal at Fenghua Palace.

While An Jing and the others were on their way to Fenghua Palace, Palace Attendants had already rushed to the Imperial Kitchen, asking them to quickly prepare food and send it to Fenghua Palace. By the time An Jing and her group arrived, the dishes had already been brought and were being placed on the table one by one.

While An Jing and Xiao Changyi were eating, they asked the four little ones if they wanted to eat some more.

After hesitating a moment, the children pointed their little fingers at the plate of streaky pork and said, ”We could still eat a piece of meat.”

Hearing this, An Jing immediately burst into laughter so hard her stomach hurt.

Xiao Changyi’s cool lips also curved up, but his hands were already in motion, placing a piece of the streaky pork into each of the children’s empty bowls.

The four little ones happily picked up their chopsticks and began to eat, giggling at Xiao Changyi and An Jing while eating.

An Jing and Xiao Changyi sincerely found their four children utterly adorable.

After eating, An Jing and Xiao Changyi spent some more time with the four little ones in the Fenghua Palace before going to see Su Haoyu.

In the palace, the Retired Emperor had his own residence.

Not only was it large, but also secluded and serene.
