Chapter 1223: Chapter 1224: Farewell, No Send-off

Ke Anjing, however, was not buying into her act, her tone becoming even more incisive: ”Then go call your Emperor brother over here, let’s see if he allows you to enter like this or sends you back to the palace.”

Clearly, An Jing was truly angry.

Su Chengyuan had always known that Xiao Changyi wasn’t afraid of Su Chengyu, but she didn’t expect An Jing to be fearless of Su Chengyu as well. She was stunned at first, before pondering over the situation.

Weighing the pros and cons, she felt that returning to the palace to seek justice from Su Chengyu wouldn’t do her any favors, so she reluctantly compromised: ”I won’t bring that person with me, as for the items... You decide what I can take in, and the rest I will leave behind.”

She had come with great fanfare; she couldn’t just return to the palace without even setting foot in the military camp.

If she were to go back to the palace just like that, she would definitely be the subject of ridicule!

Only then did An Jing turn to Ye Zhi and say, ”Ye Zhi, help her pick out the items that can be taken inside.”

”Yes!”

Ye Zhi immediately went through the pile of things Su Chengyuan had brought, selected a few that could be taken in, and, in the end, packed them all into a small bundle.

Su Chengyuan, seeing that she was only allowed to bring some personal clothes, scolded Ye Zhi on the spot: ”How bold, to only let this Princess bring such a tiny amount of things!”

”This is the rule, the regulation allows only this much, the military camp will issue clothes,” An Jing picked up the last set of Leather Armor and cloth armor and handed them to Su Chengyuan, ”If you can’t accept this, you can go back to the palace. No need to see you off.”

Saying this, An Jing was ready to turn around and enter the military camp.

Su Chengyuan quickly freed one hand to hold on to An Jing, ”Empe—”

Seeing An Jing’s cold gaze, she immediately corrected herself: ”Instructor, I can accept it, I can accept it.”

”Then take your few things and these two sets of Armor and go inside.” As An Jing walked towards the military camp, she added, ”I’ll take you to the tent you’ll be staying in.”

Su Chengyuan quickly followed.

When she found out she would be sharing a tent with others, and that there were seven people living in one tent, Su Chengyuan made a fuss again: ”Instructor, I am a Princess, how can I sleep with others in the same room? And so many people at that!”

An Jing was particularly calm: ”I don’t care whether you’re a Princess, Commandery Princess, or a Marquis’s daughter; all I know is that you’ve come here to be a soldier, and as an instructor, I must treat everyone equally without bias. If you can’t accept this, then as I said, you can go back to the palace, and be a Princess there.”

Su Chengyuan was furious, but had no other option.

”If you’re not going back to the palace, then change into the cloth armor quickly. Gather at the training ground after the time it takes an incense stick to burn.”

After telling Su Chengyuan, An Jing then turned to Ye Zhi and said, ”I’ll leave this to you.”

Ye Zhi immediately saluted with a fist: ”Yes!”

An Jing then turned and walked away.

Su Chengyuan, watching An Jing’s retreating figure, first stomped her foot in anger, before finally entering the tent.

Seeing Du Aya in the tent, she shrieked, ”How come there’s a man here? Is the Princess supposed to live with a man? This could ruin my reputation!”

Ye Zhi followed into the tent, feeling very annoyed inwardly, but explained calmly, ”She only looks like a man, but she is a woman, truly and genuinely.”

Su Chengyuan didn’t believe it.

Du Aya, seeing that all present were women, was not shy and straightforwardly took off the cloth armor she had just managed to put on, showing Su Chengyuan whether she was male or female.

Initially, Su Chengyuan dared not look.
