Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1236: Chapter 1237: No Excuses, Being Late is Being Late

Then, Su Chengyuan also slept.

However, after sleeping for another two hours, they were woken up by Ye Zhi, who said that An Jing had ordered them to assemble at the training ground at the fourth quarter of Yin time, and it was already the second quarter of Yin time, asking them to hurry up.

She also said that An Jing was already waiting for them at the training ground.

It was still dark in Tian Du, equivalent to 3:30 am in modern times, and since it was January, it got light even later, making it pitch black outside. Only Tobanya and Liu Feifei said nothing; the others all had complaints, feeling it was too early to get up.

Moreover, they had been disturbed in the middle of the night.

They should have been allowed to sleep until the sun was three poles high.

Whereas Li Wuyu, due to a stomach upset, had not arrived at the training ground on time and was still in the latrine.

Seeing that Li Wuyu had not come, An Jing did not ask anything.

When the new recruits arrived at the training ground, except for Tobanya, Liu Feifei, and Li Wuyu still in the latrine, the other new recruits complained to An Jing, asking her to call them later next time, as they were really too sleepy.

It was still dark now.

The training ground was illuminated by torches.

An Jing said, ”The situation on the battlefield changes instantly, and the enemy will not wait for you to finish sleeping before they attack.”

Immediately, An Jing kicked a gray cloth bag by her feet: ”Each bag contains a tael of sand. Tie one on each of your hands and feet, carrying a total burden of two tael and run ten laps around the training ground.”

”Instructor, are you trying to kill us?” Su Chengyuan felt that binding a tael of sand to each of her hands and feet and then running ten laps would definitely be exhausting.

An Jing just glanced at her indifferently: ”Su Chengyuan, have you never heard the phrase ’military orders are as heavy as mountains’? Do I need to teach you? My words are commands, and you must all obey!”

Su Chengyuan wanted to retort to An Jing, but the fact was true; it was just like this in the military camp, making her unable to find the words even if she wanted to retort.

Tobanya and the others obediently tied one tael of sand to each of their hands and feet.

Seeing this, Su Chengyuan hurriedly went to do the same.

At this moment, Li Wuyu arrived, running hurriedly.

As soon as Li Wuyu arrived, she heard Du A Ya say they had to run ten laps with the burden, and she immediately sat down on the ground, preparing to tie the sand-filled cloth bags to her hands and feet like everyone else.

But just as her hand touched the cloth bag, she heard An Jing say: ”Li Wuyu is late, add two more laps.”

Hearing that she had to run two additional laps, Li Wuyu hurriedly explained: ”Instructor, I didn’t mean to be late, my stomach was upset just now, I went to the latrine, that’s why I’m late.”

An Jing, without giving any leeway, said: ”No excuses, your lateness is your fault, run, this is an order, a soldier must obey orders, if you don’t want to stay in the military camp, you don’t have to run.”

Li Wuyu didn’t expect her master to be truly merciless, she felt a bit sad but still loudly said: ”I’ll run!” Just two more laps, she could do it!

Du A Ya and the others knew that Li Wuyu was the daughter of the Prime Minister and also An Jing’s disciple. Seeing that An Jing not only disregarded the princess but also didn’t give her own disciple any face, being extremely ruthless, they immediately understood that to stay in the army, they had to obey.

Just like An Jing said, military orders are as heavy as mountains.

As soldiers, they must obey orders.

Still, it was Ye Zhi leading the run. Ye Zhi’s hands and feet were also tied with sandbags. In the modern era, Ye Zhi often trained with weights, and the weight she used to carry was heavier than now, so she didn’t find it hard at all now, running particularly smoothly.
