Chapter 1229: Chapter 1230: What Trouble Can I Cause

Gong Juechen said, ”But just staying in this tent all day, unable to go anywhere, it’s really boring, no one comes to relieve my boredom.”

An Jing responded, ”Aren’t there soldiers coming to you for medical treatment? How could you possibly be bored?”

”The more soldiers come to me, the more bored I get. I feel stifled and upset because none of them are the ones I want to see. I want to see Zhizhi. Could you let her come and see me later?”

”Ye Zi is still busy; she has no time to come and see you.”

”Then what’s the point of me being a military doctor here? I came here to see Zhizhi.”

”...”

”Jingjing...”

”Ye Zi is handling important affairs; can you please stop making trouble?”

”I just want to see her; how is that causing trouble? Even if you won’t let me see her up close, at least let me see her from a distance. Keeping me here in the tent all the time without being able to go anywhere, how is that different from house arrest? I came here to see Zhizhi, not to be placed under house arrest.”

An Jing felt sorry for Gong Juechen, but Emperor Su Chengyu was worried about him being in this critical military area, and she could only restrict Gong Juechen’s movements in the military camp to ease Chengyu’s mind.

After pondering for a moment, An Jing said, ”How about this, you can move around the camp, but a soldier has to follow you. They can remind you anytime where you can’t go, and you must obey, not trespass into forbidden areas. If you agree to this, then it’s settled, deal?”

”Deal!” Gong Juechen immediately perked up. ”After I treat this girl’s hand, I’ll go find Zhizhi. I haven’t seen her at all today, I’ve missed her so much.”

”...”

Silently, An Jing warned, ”You must not cause any trouble in the camp. This is a military camp, and any disturbances will be dealt with by military law; neither my husband nor I can protect you.”

”I know, I know, I just want to see Zhizhi, what trouble could that cause?” Gong Juechen responded nonchalantly.

”And,” An Jing continued, regardless of his attitude, ”you can move around the camp, but you also have to fulfill your duties as a military doctor otherwise, why would I keep you here?”

”Don’t worry, I know my limits.” Gong Juechen was still looking unconcerned.

But An Jing said no more. She knew he had taken the warning to heart.

As soon as Gong Juechen finished treating Liu Feifei’s hand, he rushed to find Ye Zhi, and An Jing quickly sent a soldier to follow him.

In fact, An Jing knew that Gong Juechen might be a master, and this soldier following him might not be effective, but it was necessary as a token gesture, otherwise Emperor Su Chengyu sitting high in the palace truly would not feel at ease.

Then, An Jing took Liu Feifei for a meal.

An Jing was indeed very hungry.

It was almost the time of You now. Nowadays it gets dark early and the time of You is actually dinner time already.

And she had just had lunch.

An Jing originally thought that Tuobanya and the others had finished eating, but when she brought Liu Feifei into the dining hall, she found that although Tuobanya and the others were done, Du Aya was still eating.

Next to Du Aya, there were already eight empty bowls, clearly showing she had already eaten eight bowls of rice.

It was then that An Jing learned Du Aya had a big appetite.

While eating the meal served by a soldier, An Jing asked Du Aya, ”Do you always eat this much?”

While shoveling rice into her mouth, Du Aya replied cheerfully, ”No, normally I eat four or five bowls per meal, but I was too hungry today. It’s only now lunchtime for me; I could probably eat up to ten bowls.”
