Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1247: Chapter 1248: Lending a Hand

Ye Zhi was just like An Jing, living in a tent by herself, except that her tent was not as large as An Jing’s.

Seeing that all the new recruits, except for Su Chengyuan, were in their tents, An Jing asked, ”Where is Su Chengyuan?”

Li Wuyu replied, ”She is by the river washing clothes. She has never washed clothes before, so she’s not very adept at it and is therefore a bit slow.”

An Jing was very satisfied that everyone did not treat her words as if they were nothing. To be honest, if everyone continued to wash clothes for Su Chengyuan and cater to her, she really wouldn’t know how to train such a soldier.

How can a soldier have such subservience?

Moreover, the soldier she was training was not an ordinary one. She wanted them to be able to trust each other, to be unified and fraternal, and to be able to entrust their backs to one another.

If everyone maintained such subservience, and Su Chengyuan continued to act superior, then the result An Jing wanted would never be achieved. It would truly be better not to train at all.

The river was right next to the military camp, and there were soldiers guarding the riverbank, so An Jing was not worried about Su Chengyuan encountering any trouble by the river.

An Jing merely said, ”You all should sleep early. The official training tomorrow will be very hard and exhausting. If you have time to sleep and rest, you must take advantage of it to have enough energy and strength. When Su Chengyuan returns, pass on my words to her as well.”

”Yes, Instructor.”

...

The following day, at the second watch.

New recruits were summoned by An Jing to the training ground, just like the day before, with sandbags tied to their limbs, they ran ten laps around the ground carrying weights.

Tobanya was still the first to finish.

As soon as she finished, the chilly and indifferent Tobanya asked An Jing, ”Instructor, yesterday was the selection of new recruits, and it was not appropriate to help, but today we are soldiers. Can we go help those who are lagging behind and haven’t finished running?”

An Jing was very pleased with Tobanya’s awareness; she wanted everyone to unconsciously coalesce during training.

Right at that moment, Du Aya and Shi Shi also finished running.

”You can go and pull those who are falling behind, but you cannot help them with their weight. And you cannot remove your own weights while helping others,” An Jing said.

She was training their physical endurance and, to be precise, strengthening their arm and leg muscles. If the weights were removed, the training purpose would not be achieved.

Upon hearing this, Du Aya said, ”Then let’s go and help them!”

Tobanya took a rope and ran toward Liu Feifei, who was about to collapse to the ground.

Du Aya and Shi Shi quickly followed suit.

Tobanya tied one end of the rope around Liu Feifei and the other end around herself, then pulled Liu Feifei as she ran in front.

Liu Feifei had almost no strength left in her legs, and if Tobanya pulled her like this, she would surely fall. Therefore, Du Aya and Shi Shi, one on Liu Feifei’s right and one on her left, supported Liu Feifei so she could be pulled by Tobanya but not fall.

Liu Feifei had already mentally prepared to collapse on the ground and crawl to the end like the days before. Now, being aided by Tobanya, Du Aya, and Shi Shi without having to crawl, she was genuinely moved, her eyes slightly reddening.

Li Wuyu, after finishing the weighted run, saw that Tobanya and the others were helping Liu Feifei, and knowing that An Jing had not objected, understood that An Jing approved. She then quickly took a rope and rushed to help Ting Shu, who was the penultimate.

Liu Feifei was the last.
