Chapter 1242: Chapter 1243: Hope You Don’t Regret Your Momentary Impulse

”An hour later, gather at the training ground.” An Jing left after dropping this sentence and walked away.

Ye Zhi went with her.

Once back in her tent, An Jing first sent someone to see Zhou Piaopiao off, then she spoke to Ye Zhi, ”Later, once we determine which soldiers to keep, you lead them to learn the military laws first. At noon, apart from those chickens, also prepare a whole roasted lamb for them to eat as a congratulations for officially becoming soldiers of this women’s military camp.”

”Okay.”

”I will not wait for you for lunch. Once I confirm who will stay, I will go to report this matter to the Emperor. I might not be back by noon, but I will try to return before dinner.”

”Okay.”

...

Training ground.

Ye Zhi led the remaining ten new recruits to stand in a line.

Though these ten new recruits had been at the military camp for only a day, their spirits had changed since before they joined the camp.

Especially Su Chengyuan and Liu Feifei, their changes were the most significant.

An Jing stood at the forefront, facing Ye Zhi and the ten new recruits. Her gaze swept across the faces of the ten new recruits before she finally spoke, ”All assessments have ended, and all ten of you have met the standards to become soldiers. However, I still have two things to confirm with you. If there are no issues with these two things, then you can truly consider yourselves soldiers.”

”But if there are problems, there’s the door,” An Jing pointed to the main gate of the women’s military camp, ”Farewell, and I won’t see you out.”

Seeing that nobody spoke, An Jing then asked with certainty, ”First thing: once you truly become soldiers, the daily training will be hundreds and thousands of times tougher and more exhausting than your weighted runs. If you cannot accept this, you can turn around now, pack up, and leave the camp. So, can you accept it, or not?”

Besides Su Chengyuan, the others all immediately replied loudly, ”We can accept it!”

An Jing looked toward Su Chengyuan and asked in a very formal and indifferent tone, ”What about you? Why aren’t you answering?”

Su Chengyuan wanted to be a soldier but did not want to undergo hardships, so she hesitated without giving any clear answer.

After waiting a while and seeing Su Chengyuan still hesitating without an answer, An Jing no longer wanted to waste time on her and said, ”If you can’t accept it, then go back, pack up, and leave.”

Feeling that An Jing’s words were a disdain toward her, Su Chengyuan immediately got stimulated and loudly said, ”This Princess can accept it!”

Thinking of how Su Chengyuan hesitated before, clearly not wanting to endure hardship, An Jing asked, ”Are you sure?”

Feeling even more that An Jing was looking down on her, Su Chengyuan replied louder, ”This Princess is sure! I can accept it! Even if it’s a thousand times, ten thousand times more difficult, I can still accept it!”

Hearing Su Chengyuan’s words, An Jing knew that these were words spoken in a heated moment and calmly said, ”I hope you don’t regret this impulsive decision later.”

Su Chengyuan immediately responded, ”This Princess won’t regret it. This Princess wants you to see that not only can I become a soldier, but I can also excel at it!”

An Jing said no more, but then asked everyone conclusively, ”Second thing, troops are raised for a thousand days to be used for a moment. One day we might really go into battle. If you are afraid of death, turn around now, pack your things, and leave. So are you afraid of death or not?”

Including Su Chengyuan, all ten new recruits immediately shouted, ”Not afraid!”

”Very good.” Seeing everyone respond uniformly and loudly, so loudly that even the people in the neighboring Wolf Camp could hear them, An Jing was very satisfied.
