Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1280 - 658: Prophecy, the Great War Approaches!

”Capture alive, huh...”

Everyone looked at the grotesque figure lying on the ground, a sight too ugly to accept.

To be honest, compared to looking at this person, they found the monster much more pleasant.

”Seriously, this is too ugly... How about you handle this guy?” Wen Guixin stepped back a couple of paces in disgust, then glanced at the monster and said, ”With your status, getting something out of him should be easy, right?”

”And you find him more pleasing to the eye,” Wang Lei added.

”Hmm... alright, I’ll take care of it then.”

Qi Xuefei handed a pill to the monster: ”Give it to him to take, he should wake up. But before that, I think we should leave first.”

”Yes, you all should leave.” The monster waved its hand.

Xu Xin and Ji Chaoyang exchanged glances and then nodded at each other.

It would be more appropriate for them to leave.

If they left, this person would only see the monster when he woke up.

By then, the monster could say it saved him from the bombardment and easily extract some information.

After all, the monster was their deity!

But...

”You should still be careful, although the previous guy didn’t know about your defection, this one might...”

Xu Xin pointed at the grotesque unconscious figure on the ground.

”This guy is an order enforcer; he likely knows about your situation, so he may not continue to see you as a lofty deity like the previous man did.”

”Don’t worry, I understand this, you can leave now.”

The monster seemed to be urging them a bit.

Evidently, it was still somewhat uncomfortable having so many humans around.

The group gradually left.

”Did you really just leave that order enforcer to it?” Lou Fei’Er tugged on Xu Xin’s arm, questioning softly.

”It can be trusted now,” Xu Xin said.

At least for the past few months, everything it did was trustworthy.

With its ability to teleport freely even within the World Tree, if it wanted to do something, it would be too easy.

But it hadn’t done anything to harm humans and even kept a humble attitude, seeking coexistence with humans and having the race it created live alongside humans.

That’s why Xu Xin and the others started seriously considering its previous plans, making actual preparations.

The monster had now gained the trust of the explorers.

”Alright, if you think it can be trusted, then it can. I haven’t interacted with it much.” Lou Fei’Er shrugged slightly.

”Not trusting it now is meaningless.” Shi Wanyun said softly from the side, ”Our plans, all based on the information obtained from it, have already been implemented. If we start doubting it now, it’s too late.”

”It’s trustworthy, I guarantee it!”

Wen Guixin, who was walking ahead, suddenly turned, patting her chest confidently: ”It’s fine, you don’t need to worry about this.”

Wen Guixin was probably the one who trusted the monster the most among them all.

She was the one who first suggested letting the monster handle this matter.

Since the last private conversation with the monster, she had spent almost half of her time on the monster’s side, even getting familiar with those gene-modified humans and the little monsters.

This blood bond across time made her curious about everything the monster did.

”We trust it. Let’s wait for its message.”

...

About an hour later, the monster contacted them.

”The alien invaders are planning a full-scale attack.”

It had obtained the critical information Xu Xin and the others needed most at the moment.

When Xu Xin and the others returned, the order enforcer was still lying on the ground, barely clinging to life.

”What’s going on?”

”He indeed knows I’m a traitor and harbors a great malice towards humans, so he had to be eliminated.”

The order enforcer indeed knew that the ”deity” they worshipped had defected to the humans’ side.

One of the reasons the alien invaders sent these order enforcers was to investigate if there were any traces of the monster.

To the alien invaders, the humans having a World Tree wasn’t frightening, but if the monster allied with the World Tree, it would be extremely grave.

So, the moment the grotesque figure saw the monster, he knew its identity.

The defected ”deity”!

Yet his long-standing faith over millennia rendered him powerless to rebel before the deity, even though this deity had defected from the other numerous deities. But to the grotesque figure, it was something internal to the deities—what right did he have to intervene?

Especially when this ”deity” told him it saved him, saved his life.

So he told the ”deity” everything he knew.

”If you don’t have any more questions, then I’ll proceed.” The monster’s eyes on its leg opened, glancing at the dying order enforcer on the ground.

”Wait, I still have questions!”

Xu Ying squatted next to the order enforcer, looking down at him.

Only then did she realize that the order enforcer’s limbs were twisted, and even his body had indentations, with internal organs severely damaged.

If he wasn’t healed, he probably wouldn’t survive for a few more minutes.
